My HTC Magic does not boot when turned normally ON. I installed an application from Mobentoo Slideme download application and all of a sudden the phone restarted and begins to repeat the boot tune with the HTC flashing in the centre of the screen continously. ( That is the tune and the logo appears at every 10 seconds approx.)
I will have to shut it down only by removing the battery.
And again when i restart the same thing happens.
I as well tried removing the Mem card. But no use.

My HTC Prophet won't boot with the SIM in it.
When i take the sim card out, it boots with no problems.
I've tried several roms, (5.0, 6.1 and 6.5) still got problems.
It gets to the Qtek screen (blue splash) and when it's about to start loading the OS, it just shuts down (screen goes black, about 4 seconds later the LED turns off)
What should i do?
(ive also tried hard reset, no help.)
EDIT :
Now the phone won't boot with the SIM inside either, it seems if i leave the battery out for a while, it will boot.
It shuts down automaticly too after a while.
EDIT 2 :
I have found a temporarily solution.
Take the battery out, leave it without power for about 5 minutes, then it boots up perfectly without any problems.
Gonna keep watching it.
Sim card works on other phones? have you tried with an other sim card?
Replace battery.
My blackstone was running Miri Rev.10 rom just fine for about 2 weeks and it suddenly turned off itself. I thought the battery is flat so I recharge, but as soon as i plug the power in, it automatically reboots and keeps rebooting at "smart mobility" screen.
Hard reset several times doesnt help. I used USPL and loaded RUU_BlackStone_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.59.707.0_Radio_52.62 .25.34_1.13.25.24_Ship rom, the upgrade process went normal, smooth, but when it finished, the device keeps rebooting at smart mobility screen again.
Please help identifying the issue and solutions.
Thanks

I've heard of this happening to a few people and in both circumstances it was do to power off button being slightly push in causing phone to constantly turn off.

There was one post about a Tytn II having the same problem, but there was no solution for it.
I guess its a HW issue then. Thanx
Hi ,
I had the same problem .. I always thought it's the battery dead empty but it's not, my symptoms were :
- could not start it without power plugged in
- with power plugged in it kept rebooting
What I did twice already was to take out the battery .... leave it for 10-15 minutes and put it back and worked.

Robert
Hi everybody,
i think my Nexus 4 died yesterday Was listening to music while i was in the workshop, suddently music stopped and the display wont turn on again. Tried to restart it a couple times but nothing happend. Than put it on the charger for a while, than my computer. There, it showed the charging animation if your phone is completly shutdown and when i pushed the start button it booted up quiet normaly, but "optimised" my apps again. After unlocking the Sim card, i pushed the homebutton and it crashed again. Since than, no picture on the screen anymore. It starts up(vibration from boot) and is even recognised via usb "remove mako" but i couldn flash a stock image with the nexus toolkit, it stucks in "waiting for device".
Was running CM 12.1 from end of june.
Is there anything i can test if my LCD died, or flash a stock rom without any displayinformation?
Best regards from me and my good old Nokia E51, which is no back in Service again.

Can you get in recovery mode or anything else accessible with button combinations? What happens when you hold power and volume down and up together for a couple of seconds? Try holding them for 10 secs.
for the past two years im using note4 n910g 32gb. with out facing any problem and it was also rooted. In the past week suddenly the phone got stuck and went off. i tried to power on it but nothing happened, so, i removed the battery and tried again, power came back but when to odin mode saying " could not do normal boot ". i tried several times and same thing happened. i removed the battery again and kept it for several minutes then tried again but only the black screen appeared. after several tries phone opened but few seconds later it got stuck again. so i reinstall firmware after that it was good for 2-3 hrs. so i installed a higher version but same thing happened again. same thing happens allover again. so i unrooted it but its the same. phone got so slow it wont open an app and get stuck and turn off. i tried to restart the phone but after restart it wont turn on. so help me to get my phone back. now it keeps showing odin mode sometime, black screen and sometimes startup to phone logo stuck for hrs. have to remove the battery for several time otherwise it wont power up. please help me.
Alright,
I replaced my battery today (the battery I replaced drained very quickly) and that is when all of my problems started.

Most people have the issue that their phone is stuck in a boot loop and it just goes to the booting screen and dies - mine is different. My phone was stuck in that phase, however it stopped after a factory reset. It boots all the way to the home screen. Then within five minutes the power-off overlay appears (without me selecting it) and immediately turns off. Then it reboots. My phone is at 4% and is stuck there as I charge it. As soon as the phone has enough power to turn on it does,
I have already wiped my data cache and performed a factory reset.
I have two other working batteries, but they have no effect on this.
I am trying to troubleshoot whether this a hardware or software problem - does anyone have any ideas?
Update #1: So last night I swapped out one of the batteries and it was at 21% when the phone turned on the first time. However, it too started doing the interval shutdown within 5min of being powered on. When I woke up in the morning the phone was drained and would not power on whatsoever - even while charging. So it charges until it has enough to turn itself on and then gets stuck in a boot loop until it dies.
Update #2: Somehow it started holding a charge. After wiping it started booting to the boot loader screen - so I have this to thank. Now it turns on fine, however some dead pixels have started showing up. Also, the current problem is that it randomly turns off - any fixes?
