Can anyone tell me the name of the free App alternative to Spotify.
I definately found it from this forum, from the essential apps thread I think, but I cannot for the life of me find it now. I've also searched the internet to no avail, I'm even starting to wonder if I've been imagining things...!
I defo had a free app that you could search for any tune, then stream it instantly.
Anyone help?
Got it! Dizzler! Thread can be closed, apologies for the inconvenience.

Hello,
I am really sorry to bother you nice folks around here, but I have a problem.
A friend of mine used the Google Youtube app. He told me it was was an great app and that I should try it.
Because I trusted him, I did.
But if you install the Google Youtube app, it gets rid of your HTC Youtube App.
And we all know wich one is superior!
If I open an video through www.m.youtube.com I still get the same quality and interface as in the HTC Youtube app, so I guess my app is still hidden somewhere! I have searched everywhere on my device, but I could not find a file that redirects to the Youtube app. It's probably gone.
I found this, but is does not work on my device; http://www.1800pocketpc.com/2009/02...wvga-youtube-app-ported-to-vga.html#more-3424
And I can't download and try these cabs; because of restrictions due the fact that I am living in the Netherlands.

Could you guys help me out?
bump
I had the exact same problem as you.
Don't download any youtube apps.
I did and it caused more problems like the registry font tweak and search sort order
stopped working..
So I installed the youtube apps that is flying around the internet.
If you install those, the tweaks font work.
Like you said the original youtube program is stored in
Windows folder, Just create a shortcut of one of those 2 youtube files
in Windows\start menu folder.
And you will have your youtube back in perfect condition.
Now.. my question is.. is there a youtube app that lets you view comments?
The htc one is quite good, but only if it allowed us to view comments..
The Android youtube app were really good at that..
Or is there a way to make opera like the safari on iPhone?
Instead of saying browser needs flash, Iphone just creates the video link
for all youtube apps so the browser triggers the iphone youtube app to handle
those flash youtube videos...
Please tell me if there is something similar on hd2..
Thank you so much! I was looking everywhere on the device! Just overlooked this one
And no, I haven't heard of something like that.
Instead I change the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4OnhnvczTk into
http://www.m.youtube.com/watch?v=z4OnhnvczTk
That's my workaround when i get directed to a youtube link from twitter or windows live.
Hey guys all of a sudden the app marker is not showing a lot of apps. I search for apps I know that are there like Rom manager but the search comes up empty.
Any help? I think this happened around the time the new market was released and my phone updated to it.

Ya i hear you, i can't for the life of me figure out what it is, but ever since my brother and i bought the vibrant at the same time he had google earth in the market an i don't... Anyways, my workaround has been if i can't find an app i need i ask for help here. But a more self sustaning method is to search android apps on a torrent website like pirate bay . org or bt junkie. If you have anything specific in mind i could probably help ya
get appbrain, then search for apps there, and it'll redirect you to the market, which it SHOULD be in there.
I managed to fix it. I installed the new market app and force stopped it in the manage applications settings and cleared the cached data amd rebooted.

Just bought the wifi xoom. It's awesome except for a few problems with apps. My Epocrates and Pandora app won't open (probably some other apps too that I havent tried), it just force closes. Tried uninstall and reinstall. I have reported this and seems I'm not the only one with this problem and seems specific to wifi only version. Both those appa are very important to me. Just wanted to see how many others are having this problem to see if I should go try to exchange mine or if this is a universal problem. Also if anyone has an idea for a fix, would really appreciate it.
Thanks!
Also, forgot to ask what custom roms are available and what are people using after rooting their xoom? I'm prob just retarded but couldn't find a good thread to see what was available.
Can only comment on the Pandora app but they are aware of the issue and are working a quickly releasing a fix, but in the mean time the Pandora .apk from the Nook color works on the xoom fine...
You can grab the apk from this thread

So I'm on MIui and for the past 4 weeks I've been receiving approx 1 "spam" message a week which appears in the header of my screen.
It's a little bit annoying, and obviously, I'd like to get rid of them given a choice.
I've attached a screenshot showing the issue.
Is there any advice on how I can stop this spam message being received in the future please?
A cursory google search and an xda search has revealed no obvious answers
Thanks in advance
Looks like you have downloaded an app with airpush advertising, at least I think its called airpush anyway.
There is an app you can download that will tell you which app is the culprit or alternatively there is an opt out app that you can download.
I had the same problem after downloading a youtube downloader so I know how annoying it is
I'll check it up and get back to you.
thanks
appreciate you taking the time.
It's annoying!
http://newbwired.com/2011/06/10/removing-airpush-from-your-android-device/
seems to have solved it for me - a beautiful widgets addon seems to have possibly caused the problem? I say uninstall to that, see what the impact will be over the next week.
Thanks ponk2k for giving me the spark I needed to potentially solve this case.
Yep, it is airpush. You can get either airpush detector or add-on detector in the market which will show you which app is causing the notification bar spam aand give you the option of deleting it or else google airpush opt out to keep the app but rid yourself of the ads
I expect you've already found it, but I used this app to find the culprit when I had airpush problems:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.brosmike.airpushdetector
The Airpush Opt Out app doesn't seem to be available any more.
Dont forget guys that MIUI builds adds into the roms so it may not be just an app.
I just rooted my wife's NC (1.4.2) and everything went swimingly. I didn't change any roms or add any kernels or anything like that. I followed the instructions here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494901
When I fired up the play store, and went to search for facebook, or titanium backup or anything specific, the results it showed were nowhere close to what I searched for. The version installed is 3.5.19. If I go online and search then I can find the apps no problem. It also doesn't show any paid or installed apps. I've cleared the cache, restarted etc. To no avail.
I tried to verify the problem with my NC which I rooted yesterday. My play store has no issues with the searching or finding the right apps.
Please is this a known issue? or did I manage to muck things up. I'm not new to rooting, but kind of new to the NC procedures. Any help and comments are truly welcome. Thanks in advance!!
I'm seeing the same issue. Known applications not showing in the search results, as the Market does not show results for applications it feels are incompatible with your device. You will also see when you access the Market via a direct link to many well known applications, you will get "this application is not compatible with your device." I still haven't figured out the fix but have been searching, downloading and side loading applications to get around it. A little frustrating but doable. There is also a Google Chrome APK downloader you can install to help but it violates Google's TOS.
If someone has found a fix....I'd love to hear about it too.
