This build has a tweak: Overclocked to 240MHz at boot time. After a while when the device go to sleep and wake up, the clock reset to 186MHz(default). Side effect: Camera during the 240MHz Clock should have red blur, but the picture is OK. When the clock back to 186MHz, everything is OK.

Having cooked my first ever ROM, codenamed Merlion Leo © , a couple of months ago, it has progressed by leaps and bounds since, in terms of optimization (performance & storage) and keeping up with the most recent software/drivers. It has come to a point whereby any further development will yield a very marginal small improvement. At least until the next major software version is made available from HTC. That has mooted the idea of refreshing my ROM platform using the newer branch of Windows Mobile platform (COM5, Windows Mobile 6.5.5, build 23xxx)​
Among the many other branches of Windows Mobile 6.5 platform (such as COM3, COM5 and COM8), many people have predicted that COM5 will eventually be the new OS baseline for future newer windows mobile devices. COM5 branch has also proven itself well in xda-developers, with good performance and decent functionality offerings. I have thus decided to adopt COM5 branch of WM6.5, in my new Merlion Leo ROM development workstream. The new ROM, is then codenamed Merlion NG Leo ©, where NG stands for Next Generation. It is deliberately named so as to reflect the future of the overall Merlion Leo development workstream.​
The philosophy behind Merlion NG Leo © remains the same as before. The primary objective of the effort is to have a customized ROM based on my personal needs, with the emphasis on striking a balance between performance/stability and eye candy. So you may find that some of the included/excluded features not something you would expect of a "public ROM", or it may look too "OEM" for some likings. Nevertheless, I have decided to continue sharing my work with you so that this provides an alternative to rest of the ROMS that are available in xda-developers.com.​
Although I have a full time job in a MNC, and probably don't need additional income stream to meet my daily living expenditure, but your donation, or your post of appreciation, will definitely motivate and propel me further in continuing to share my work with the community.​

1. How do I use XDA_UC to automate the setup configuration after flashing your ROM?
Please refer to this thread for more information. Basically you can use XDA_UC to automatically install your preferred applications, restore files such as configuration, modified file, image or audio files, etc. Create a new folder "XDA_UC" in your storage card's root directory, and follow the instruction to put your CAB, files and registry in the appropiate folder.
2. Can you be so kind and let me know how to change the Operator Logo Download? i.e. Where to place the clear logo?
The logo file name is 256x64.png, stored in \Windows directory. As the name suggest, the image size of the logo should be 256 px by 64 px, with a transparent background. I've created a couple of logos for your usage, if your telco is not "Starhub" or you prefer to have no logo displayed on your home screen. Go to the download section, and download the logo zip file.
3. I just flashed to the latest ROM from Zenkinz .... but that is because I face the unvoluntary hard reset again.
The cited problem is not unique to my ROM. It affects most custom ROM, specifically when you flash a custom ROM after another. The cause, is believed to be related to the fact that the device storage is not formatted when a custom ROM is being updated to the device. The file residue inadvertently causes instability and therefore the recommended corrective step is to format your phone storage using the mtty process (not to be mistaken by hard reset, which is merely clearing your phone storage to the default ROM image)

The downloadable package only contains NBH file, which is the image of the ROM that's to be flashed into your device. You need a ROM update utility (RUU) to flash the downloaded image. i1magic has summarised the steps to flash the rom very well, and you can reference from here

First of all, download the extra icons from my iconpack (see the download section). You can copy all the icons, or just the selected icons to a folder in your device, such as \Application Data\Icons. Then use an icon changer such as CSMI or JWMD Icon Changer to replace the icon for your extra programs. I personally prefer CSMI for incremental change (i.e. just change the additional programs), and JWMD Icon Changer for mass change (i.e. change all the icons)

7. I flash your latest ROM, after 1st soft reset, I noticed that my storage card content disappear. Is my storage card damaged? How do I solve this problem?
The bug is introduced as the result of using the beta version of extendir. The good news is your storage card is not damaged. There's more information about the bug itself, and the steps that you need to carry out, in order to get rid of the bug permanently (until your next hard reset). Please go to this post for more information.
8. My Garmin appears to be running sluggish on this device
This due to extendir v2 b1.07. The workaround is to create a shortcut in your start menu such that it points to QuePPC.exe in \Storage Card\Garmin\App folder. Somehow, running the app from storage card is much faster than running it from the device (which Garmin installation process will copy QuePPC.exe to \Garmin\Que.exe). To create the shortcut, open your file explorer, navigate to folder \Storage Card\Garmin\App, tap and hold on QuePPC.exe, and select "Copy". Then navigate to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Navigation, and tap and hold within the folder, and select "Paste Shortcut".
edit: this has been fixed in v1.65 and above.
9. When my HD2 first booted up, I don't see the setup wizard that come with HTC official ROM and previous Merlion series ROM.
I've removed OOBE (out of box experience) package in v1.70, which removes the setup wizard. Please refer to this thread on why I do so, and what additional steps you may have to take now that the setup wizard doesn't run on first boot.
10. "My Location" weather doesn't seem to work. Why?
If you have this problem only in v1.70 and above, please refer to FAQ #9.

this one uses a different Windows Mobile 6.5 COM5 (6.5.5) instead of COM2 (6.5) found in the other thread.
this COM5 is designed for easier user navigation, and the first thing you would notice is the start button is at the bottom

I use now Cookies Home Tab, and CHT Editor 1.6.1.
In CleanEX HQ 2.16 and 2.18 Rom, Custom operator text is now working;;;;'

In Miri-rom v6.0 that I used before, it works well.
My operator is now "3G SK Telecom SKTelecom", south Korea.
I edited registry 'HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Ril\OperatorNames', "45005"="my text"
then operator text changed "3G my text SKTelecom" --;;

optimus82 is right...use the cht editer, there is an option in there to change the operator text. Type whatever you want, save changes and it should be on your home screen when you exit.

Personalizer does not have bad battery problems. It writes to the registry and then closes. If you're having bad battery problems then it's being caused by something else.
Which version of CHT are you using?

Wrong OS version in About window AKU5093

I have tried several 21905 builds but with all of them I Get on the About window CE OS 5.2.21901 (Build 21905.5.0.93)
Did MS forgot to update the OS version?
I did try to search for the string and 558D word, but nothing found...
Can anyone hint me to a solution? or a good 21905 SYS.

To correct myself, should be MsXipKernel DSM file, open with DSM EDITOR and change the number if necessary and save

The rgu only has an entry for encfilt, but I presume you mean the dsm file.
It already had 21905 as the QFE level. (5.2.5093.21905)
I have rebuild xip from 3 different sources but I keep getting
CE OS 5.2.21901 (Build 21905.5.0.93)
on the About screen.
So either all sources for 21905 are wrong or I am missing something.
I tried to find where it is but no unicode string or binary value for 21901 (558d) I can find 21905 (5591) in the shell part.

There was a MSXIPKernel folder in my OEM folder with a 21901 dsm...
I tried a 21898 xip and sys and still had 21901 in the about screen.
So I wass puzzled until I found it... No idea how it got there!

Help needed on how to edit the version stamp in NK.exe

I would like to be able to edit the version in the s000 file in the nk.exe I have tried using a hex editor and searching for the string eg I am using the nk.exe from tmous 2.14 and searched for the string but cant find it.
What is the best way to edit it?

Seach for 2.14 but check UTF16-LE in search form, if you are using XVI32. If not, use XVI32 and do the first part

I changed the Version e.g 2.14 to abc but after EVK cooking it is shows the first letter to 3bc.
Then i changed the 2.14 to _abc and after cook it display 3abc
Do you have any idea?
