Vodafone again - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Themes and Apps

I have a vodafone Touch Pro 2 which has been updated to WM6.5
I am trying to change the theme without much success
I tried the Dusk theme which worked, but some of the graphics were hard to see as was the text. It didn't quite match the screen shots on the site though.
I also tried this method
There are a few threads on here dealing with this. But the gist is:
Download this
http://www.4shared.com/file/10933096...3DIIBlack.html
Before installing it copy the "2330fc3c_manila" file from the windows directory and put it back after installation. When installing DO NOT let your screen turn off!!! and it takes AGES to install, about 20-30 minutes.
Once it is installed, reboot and you have the default HTC black TF3D theme, with white fonts. You can then install any theme you want without CFC compression
To replace the Facebook installation look here

But this is an earlier version of Sense and WM so didn't work properly and I would class as unusable.
Any ideas of a simple way I can change my themes? I looked around but nothing has jumped out at me.

When you say upgraded to WM6.5 do you mean you've flashed it with the stock Voda WM6.5 update or have a cooked ROM? My best advice is to find a cooked ROM you like. The best I've personally found so far on my UK Voda TP2 is NRG Photom which can be found here

But I am still trying them all out, enjoy

T-Mobile Wing Flashing

Hello everyone. I'm new to the website and I'm very interested in flashing my T-Mobile Wing. I just have a quick question for you guys. Is there anyway to go back to factory default, pretty much put in back to its original out of the box state if i flash the phone? Also, will i still be able to use the My Faves or does that have nothing to do with this? Thanks for all the help and i look forward to learning more about this.
Gigabit
Yes. You can download a T-Mobile Wing OEM RUU (search the forums for it) to get back to normal.
My Faves doesn't need the MyFaves app. I used MyFaves for about a year on my non-MyFaves Moto PEBL before getting the Wing. I just use Touch-IT 4.4 with the HTCHome plugin and just assign my myfaves numbers to the first 5 slots so 'simulate' the ease. I've always thought the MyFaves app was rather buggy, but there's a CAB floating around that you can install if you still want it. I just change my contacts via mytmobile online.
It's not too hard as long as you follow all the directions. Read them twice through if you have to.
thanks for the quick response. I just have one other question at this point. i've been look all over the place and cant seem to find what the newest version of Touch-It is. Can you please post a link to the newest version when every you have some time. I can't wait to get started.
Thanks!
Gig
These are the newest versions of Touch-IT.
NEW - Touch-IT v6.1.3 - Clean (updated with UC)
Touch-IT wm6.1 19199.1.0.0 - Full
Touch-IT wm6.1 19199.1.0.0 - ITsBlack
Touch-IT v4.4 and 4.41 WWE P4350
There was a small problem with the wm6.1 versions where the MMS wasn't working correctly, and I'm not sure if that has been fixed... but ITJE's roms are awesome and you can't go wrong with them.
You'll need to install my keyboard fix
KEYBOARD FIX for WING / HERALD & ROM hardware keyboard (keybddr.dll) mismatch
First off, Thank you so much for the fast responsces. Second, after a nice LONG day at the hospital with my daughter i sat down to start the flashing process. As i started reading some of the directions i saw something mentioned about Hard-SPL. My question to you guys is this: once i download the Touch version that i want, is that all i need? or do i need to look more into this and find Hard-SPL. please let me know whenever you have some time.
Thank You,
Gig
All you need to do is follow this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=358225
HARDSPL is basically just flashing a rom.. so once youre done with it, all you have to do is install the Rom you want.
ok so, when i run Hard-SPL it starts to do its thing but stops at 4% and comes up with Update Error "Error 270". I've tried re-downloading the Hard-SPL file and uninstalled/reinstalled ActiveSync. I also installed all the .cab files in this order: canonyang, disablesecurity, asergpolicy, followed by a softrest. any ideas what the problem might be. Please let me know when you have some time. Thanks for all the help guys.
Gig
Try restoring back to the default ROM that comes from the factory by downloading it from the first post here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=321717
After that then try flashing with hard-spl and then to the new TouchIt.
By the way I recommend
Touch-IT wm6.1 19199.1.0.0 - Full
I have a T-mobile wing and that one works best for me. (of course you will have to run the keyboard fix cab and x-box cab as indicated in the previous posts after installing Touch-IT wm6)
i have yet to flash any ROM to the wing. it is still factory default. Should i still try to reinstall the new ROM using the link you provided? Thanks for all your help.
edit: after backing up all my crap i reinstalled the ROM using the RUU from the above post and everything went OK but I'm still getting the same Error when i try to run the Hard-SPL while in the bootloader screen i get "Error 270" at about the 2% mark. if i try to run the Hard-SPL while not in the bootloader screen i get "Error 202". please let me know if you have any other advice to get past this small issue.
Thanks,
Gig

Are you sure you ran the 3 cab files first (inside of the Wing with your stylus) and then did the softreset on your Wing (by pressing the little button on the side of your wing with the tip of your stylus) prior to running the ROM exe file (on your large desktop PC)?
The 3 cabs should be run in the order that is given.
yes, after i installed the 3 .cab files i did a soft reset. I held the camera button and pushed in the reset button with the stylus. then once i was in the screen with the different colors i ran Hard-SPL from my desktop computer.
edit:
after reading what i was typing i tried it again and it worked. just call me stupid. SOFT REST! those two words will hunt me forever. Thanks for all your help. not its time to start blowing crap up. lol
Thanks a bunch
Gig
If I remember the instructions, you're supposed to run the hardspl when the phone is running WM.... so basically, install the 3 cabs, reset, wait for it to reach your today screen... connect to activesync, then run hardspl.
that is correct sir. Thats how i was reading it but then doing it a different way. i dunno what i was thinking. Thank you so much for all your help. i have successfully installed Hard-SPL and Touch 4.4 full. I also over clocked from 201 to 247 with no issues. Applied your keyboard fix and the mms fix along with the Internet fix. all is working perfect. thanks again for all the help. i'll definitely will be browsing the sit more to see what else i can learn.

UPDATE: 26/10/2009 Titanium For WM6.5 (Beta) & Menu-Style (Classic Blue)

UPDATE: 26/10/2009 Firstly I would like to apologise for the lack of updates but I have had a very busy last few weeks both personally anred professionally.
I have now completely rewritten the .cpr file to be better suited to our phones and although you may not find it exactly the same as the original Titanium, I think its a good effort and a good match. Again this is a BETA release, so everything may not be perfect. I am also working on being able to change between Titanium and Sliding Panels, but I don't when I can complete that. Thank you to all those who have already downloaded.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After having downloaded ALEUT's new 6.5 rom last nite, I started to work on a few things. So far I have made Titanium work for 176x220 screens, but please remember this is a very early alpha and has been ported from a 240x320 .cpr file, and I am continuing to work to make it work properly.
The second thing is that ALEUT's 6.5 Menu Style was a bit green for my liking, so I decided to make a blue one instead and thought it would be nice to share it.
I've been a long time reader and user of XDA, but rarely have posted my works. Hope someone might find them useful.
Dear neodoughnut
its really nice theme but there is a problem in this theme after fresh installation when i install it it works fine but when i install something eles any app then after restart there is no more that themes remain in my Spv c500 i tried again and again but same problem?
Luckylips: I'm sorry to hear that you are encountering this problem. I've installed most of my regular apps since having installed the MenuStyle but haven't had any problems so far. Is there any app in particular that causes this or is just anything that install?
Well i don't think there is any particular app ! whatever i install and after that when i reboot my cell theme is no more!!
Is there any plugins that can be used for this titanium? I mean, weather, launcher, or etc?
Fix

Use fix from attachment
No more Homescreen available... :-(
Hello,
I seem to have the same problem with the Titanium theme. I installed it and once I reboot, no more Home Screen can be found.
About the new files from the fix? Where do I have to put them? \Application\Home ? Is there a way i can edit a file to get back to the normal homescreen? I really do not want to reset my phone to defaults.
I hope somebody can help me out here.
Thanks
@oolinger
u should copy them in \aplication data\home.
then select titanum home screen in setting>homescreen
but the main problem of this cab is cpr file u shold use this cpr
With the new .cpr you gave on desktop appears the message:

Titanium-Hero Sense UI for typhoon

hi
this is not my work just rewrote some files
the main add"http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=566731&highlight=sense+UI"
replace cab attached.
1-download main pack from above add
2-use 2 below cab instead of main cab
3-you need JMLPanex2.1 and mortscript("http://www.sto-helit.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=5452&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=200")
4-first install mortscript then install JMLPanex2.1 after it install hero pack (note 2) and then restart
Well gave it a shot. No love. It makes the Mobile Op screen and freezes.
I'll try again after I reload 6.1, however I think it may be asking to much of the phone.
How much op memery is needed to have all this running?
Remember specs for Typhoon are less then others
Has only 32 MB built in.
Sorry to report.....
I have followed your instructions to the letter.....and again I have to reload my phone with Win Mobile.
( Sticks after Windows Mobile Load screen)
Do not try this unless you are comfortable in flashing your phone!!!
For folks who are flash shy, go with farzad23's Diamond Theme. Easy and good looking.
@ Greywolf_Ghost
i.m using ,dont need more ram but it is a little heavy and another point is "did u read the main add instruction???"
JMLPanex need wm6.5
why flash u'r phone u can just hard reset ,very easy at boot start
Yes as I said I did everything you listed. I even went into 6.5 and tried.
I am running 6.5 as I type this.
The poor little Typhoon just does not seem to have enough available program memory available to handle it all.
The reason for the reload is.........
by default, the last installed screen before reset comes up first. So the phone locks up before it finishes reboot. It runs out of available memory and stalls. ( I tried a number of ways to attempt to get to a default 6.1 or 6.5 main screen no luck on my end).
Thus with a reload ( less then 7 min), no added registry, wallpapers, or files to clog the boot up.
If others manage to get, good on them.......please post up on steps taken.
My feeling tho is this is more for a 64MB and above phone.
It's why I said less advanced users should go with your Diamond version as it looks just as good as this.
farzad23
I would like to give this another try, however I need you to list what files in what order have to be installed.
I have been reading your instructions over and over, and they are confusing!!!!!
Please list by order, and link the files. ( all required files, and anything that is not needed please also list as a don not install).
Please clear up so I can see if this does work on a Typhoon.
Is anyone else mixed up by the first set of instructions?
@Greywolf_Ghost

@Greywolf_Ghost
u should install TItanium"http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=588837" then restart then>start>setting>home screen>choos titanium OR titanium media
farzad23
Many Thanks on the redo of instructions. It worked.
I'd say tho I still prefer the Diamond Slide. As I like the slide bar going top to bottom, in Titanium, bar stays mid and the rest moves through it.
This does look awesome tho.
In any case Thank you for the re-writes!!!

loading old wallpaper after new rom?

i was using the blue marble wallpaper but after running the sprint upgrade it can no longer see the theme. i keep trying to install it but it never comes up in the list. i believe i may have downloaded it from the hd section but it worked fine until the upgrade. are there specific wallpapers needed to work with the new rom's software?

hi, do you mean it is in a cab made using HD walls?? if so then yes it can depend on what rom you have to if it works as there are many options in the making process. can you apply "normal" wallpapers ok?
Ok i just looked back after i remembered i asked the sae question a while back, this solution from Andrew, worked for me but you will need the original wallpaper from which the cab was made. You could extract the wall paper from the cab using Quick cab-which is free

Cheers
Hi osrix25
Easy: Install "HQWallpaperPatch_v1.22_forManila2.5.19222xxx. cab" which is attached to post #2123 of this thread. N.B. This will make your Sense 2.5 incompatible with Co0kieMonster's new home tab MOD (leads to square by clock bug). Once you've installed this patch you can then install a HDWall cab. Here's how I made it:
Make sure you're using HDWall 2.8b. Choose the profile: "HTC Sense v2.5 & WM6.5 - No Compression", then use the "Convert" button to create the manila files from your image. Next, change the profile to: "HTC Sense v2.5 & WM 6.5 - All Tabs - No Compression" and convert to manila files as before. When making the .cab file, ensure you include all the manila and image files you have used when converting using both profiles.
If that doesn't work, use the profiles in the opposite order. The only limitation of HDWall at the moment is that for this version of Sense 2.5 it can only use the same image when skinning both the landscape and portrait images. This may be a limitation of Sense 2.5.2011.3030 - more research is needed I think.
To skin the lock screen and start menu backgrounds make WVGA portrait and landscape .jpg files of your image and then rename them:
Portrait: "stwater_480_800.jpg"
Landscape: "stwater_800_480.jpg"
Copy these two .jpg files to \Windows and restart the device.
Hope that's helpful.
Cheers

Check the Energy ROM thread. There is some talk of it in post #5.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=591784
i did it with my o2 rom just to see how to do it, but in all honesty i won't be doing it again. No point when the rom is available to download, and it doesnt save settings anyway. Ive posted teh how-to just because you asked about 'dumping the rom' so it will no doubt get hits from epople wanting to know how, and not just people like you wanting to backup, not dump.
dump the .raw partitions, reading step one in THIS first post will help.
Then set up ervius visual kitchen and use the 'raws2nbh' function to rebuild the raw files into the .nbh rom file.
BUT, it wont save your rom as it is now, with all your settings and such, it will only dump the rom as it was when you first ran the phone.
Far easier to just download the stock rom from somewhere.
Plus the rom you create even though it is stock will still be seen as a cooked rom by teh phone, so you would need hspl installed to flash it.
So, you need to look more into backup software, like sprite backup, PIm backup, or sashimi/makisu, or the like.
thanks very much. I guess I stick with backing up the settings and flashing the stock rom... thanks for the feedback again... ps: the point was to have the rom just how out was when dumped...

Yea, i know what you mean.
I found a cooked rom that i liked, and the chef also offered the kitchen with it. (which means i run the kitchen, press 'build' and fifteen minutes later the rom is created, ready to flash.)
Then, knowing i have a rom that i already like, i can start to make small adjustments. Progs that i normally have to reinstal every time i have converted to cookable packages, various registry tweaks that i used to instal from cab every time i have now cooked in.
A great way to get an easy intro into cooking, but because it's already built you aren't starting from a stock rom, facing weeks of tweaks. Instead i know i already like the rom, and i can slowly apply extra tweaks as i learn.
Look out for rom threads who offer 'comes with kitchen'.
ChuckyROM is the one that comes to mind, but there are others too.
I now have cookies home tab mod pre installed, and right from the start it has my layout, and all my quicklinks already there, as well as most of teh cabs i used to instal manually already built in, owner name pre set, home location/timezone etc etc all pre set, my own lockscreen, i've removed tons of unused images and language files, and such like.
My rom is down to around 145MB. (Stock is around 200MB+).
Best of all, i cooked in 'remotetracker', so if my phone gets stolen/lost, , even a hard reset wont stop it being trackable.
Fun stuff, if you dont mind spending a few hours at a time cooking/flashing/re-cooking/flashing/re-re-cooking, , , hehe

well its not that simple. when a chef cooks the rom, it is usually protected, so you cant just dump a cooked rom. Thats why you have to get a pre built kitchen for that rom.
Sadly there is no simple step by step for all this.
THIS thread is for OSKitchen, which is pretty good, and fairly straightforward.
I suggest you just get a kitchen, dump a stock rom into it, and just have a look around it for a while first, so you get the idea of what you are facing.
Follow posts 1 - 4 and that should give you an evenings tinkering to get started.
Or there is ervius' visual kitchen, which isn't quite so straight forward, but works really well for me.
Reading HERE and HERE and HERE
and lots of reading in 'Chef Central'
However, to get immediate results, i found it far better to start with a pre built kitchen.
HERE is the one i first started to tinker with.
I gave up on kitchens a half dozen times in the past months, it just seems so overwhelming, which is why a ready made rom i could make minor tweaks to came in so handy.
thanks allot, I'm going to get to it right away. I'll post if I hit a wall.

convert it to an ext package, which will generate a folder with various files/subfiles, one of which is a reg file, edit that, add your registry entries (extracted from your currently running phone, using ceregistry editor ((if you dont already have them, immediately you finish reading this go get wincecab manager, ceregistry editor, and look up CAB_Converter too.)))
Use cab converter to change the cab into an ext.
as always, the best advice is to read everything, then read it again, hehe.
A working example.
connect your phone to usb, open ceregistry editor, click connect, browse to HKLM\software\HTC\manila\Home There are 80 or so numbered folders, Thats for the quicklinks.
In the tree view on the left, right click the folder Home and choose 'export'. A file save dialog will open, call it something like home, OK. You should get something like '81 keys exported'
Now, browse to the folder where the converted cookies EXT is, find the file 'app.reg'. Double click to open it in ceregistry editor, you will see a similar registry view as you saw on the phone, except with loads less entries. Find HKLM\software\HTC\manila\Home, select the home folder, hit delete, confirm, its now gone.
Go to top of ceregistry editor - hit Edit - Import registry keys from file.
Now, by default it will be looking for .reg files, but we exported ours as .cereg, so change the filetype dropdown to 'all files'.
Find your 'home.cereg' file we exported, click it, you will get a 'sucessfully imported,....blahblah', hit save, and now, when you cook the rom, your quicklinks will already be there as soon as the phone first boots.
Use SPB backup
Use SPB backup. Works wonders. I have a backup for the 3 or 4 roms I run. So all I have to do is load the rom, load spb backup and restore the backup and all my settings, email accounts, facebook and the such is ready to go.

sure you want to bother? it wont save your settings as they are now, so you are essentially dumping the stock rom as it was when you got the phone (Assuming you're running a stock rom that is, if its a cooked rom it probably wont convert anyway)
All (most) of teh stock roms are available to download, so its an accademic task only, , , ,

Actually, yes. I realize its redundant work, but I don't see how I could ever become a proper "chef" if I can't even manage to dump a ROM.

hehe, well, ive only done it once, so you know as much as me, , get ervius vis kitchen (im sure other kitchens can do it too, just i use evk) click extra buttons, top left button is raws2nbh, follow the prompts.
You dont need to do this to cook, you know that? the kitchen will import a downloaded stock nbh, no need for the dump to get a kutchen working.
