Hey guys,
I've been using XDA developers for ages and lately I've been getting more and more annoyed with the fact rapidshare is used so much. The waiting and the speed are just not what you would like.
My hosting offers me 7.5 terabyte bandwidth to waste a month so I've set up an ugly but hopefully effective file-upload script on:
http://bjornbrala.com/downloads/
If you register you will be able to upload files. FTP access is also possible, but that i will need to setup separately.
I hope dev's will start and use this, it free, and fast!
Man, very nice! It's a great help and a good alternative.
And it's quite fast!!!

Thanks, now i hope this gets adopted, would be nice to help, and too see if i can burn through the bandwidth
I agree. It is absurd to me that anyone is using Rapidshare. It is the worst download service ever. Megaupload is only marginally better. There are a LOT of much better, free, sites for sharing and your setup looks to be the best. However, unfortunately, most people are not able to change nor acknowledge things that are better than what they have, so I doubt this will ever catch on. Sad...

Hi guys, got a program here not only myself is interested in but I personally think ALOT of people have been after a program like this. However only a 7 day evaluation

Nice app though! Worth buying?

It's veery slow, and the inbox resolution is terrible. But 0 class sms it's cool feature! it should be implemented in all sms applications.
Is there a problem with only a 7 day evaluation?

Don't want to put a blinder down on this thread, but jgui is somewhat notorious in these forums for developing software that causes people a lot of problems...
Search for his username and you'll find out what I mean.
He may be fine now of course, but tread with care and be aware of the past...
rottie: have you seen VJSMSSender Class0?
SiliconS: I've had a similar experience with JGUI stuff. Great ideas, but sometimes a little unstable.
hb328_dtdd: if you're suggesting a crack, although possible, it's not the kind of thing we distribute here.
V
Yupp, I've tried it, not too user-friendly  but it's only for fun from time to time so can live with that
Thanks for that anyway!
Maybe u would like to give my RaHSMS II a try? I've disabled Class0 SMS in this version, though it's available in my last version that was released in 2003, but it's old & not very stable ;p
Only for SMS Scheduling.

rahjinoh: looks good. Will have a look at your blog!

Yup, I've been looking for this kind of application ever since.. but Im heeding the warning to thread with care... so I'll wait for somebody to try and recommend this before doing it on my own. I still cant get over my experience with xcuspular..

Looks pretty good and promising. Has anyone downloaded it? I tried downloading but was shown and message saying download limits reached. Please upload if anyone has it.
nice idea but they are a bit late, most mobile browsers will do this anyway or you can use google which has something similar.
good to see microsoft is on the ball maybe instead of chasing support forum sites such as this they could be looking at the market place instead

Let me disagree. It's only the forthcoming NetFront 3.4 that supports quick navigation via thumbnail views.
(Of course, Deepfish is pretty simple as of now and is pretty useless for real browsing. This will surely change in the future though.)
^^^^ Simple is an understatement.
It is cool to look at but from a interactive perspective, it is really not the best.
download
You can download it from one of the "ppc" sharing sites. ;o)
OMG!!! This program is awsome!!

Hence it's a technology preview... as it says on their site a few releases from beta quality... not ready for widespread distribution, lots of work still yet to do....
I just wandered over to the site to look for the heck of it and check it out!

Awesome trying it now, Been running the 2325 build that was from the diamond I think which was pretty sweet as it got rid of that stupid out of memory error. Been running great on my titan thus far. Will try this one see if anything has been improved or changed.
Thanks for the update!
P.S. Mozilla should be coming out very shortly as well!!! Also very excited to see how well that one runs!!
update: Well after using the beta 2 update. I still get the nice out of memory error after browsing the Neverwinter Nights 2 forums with a second tab open as well as other news sites. Never encountered this error with the 2392 build. Oh well. Back to that build until they fix this stupid error.
Can anyone else give their opinion on the new Opera Mobile? I haven't tried it yet. I was curious if it was better than Opera Mini and/or Skyfire.
It still seems too bulky for this device...it's better than IE, but Opera Mini beats in by a long shot. Still no flash either.
I think Opera Mini is by far the best browser ever. Obviously has its limitations... But when it comes to speed, its unbeatable. I can happily surf 4chan and jj.am, as well as any other website.

Sure let me see what I can whip up! I'll edit this post and put in a link when I am done.
Here is the orignal link to the post. It was posted by one of our fellow ever helpful XDA users phouki. Credit goes to him for different cab builds and information!
Clicky click!
Oh okay. I have never used one of the many builds from the diamond. How stable is it?
Which build do you use for the Mogul? That might be just a little helpful to include

MUCH more stable on our devices than the official Beta builds.

Well I use it everyday to surf and read new sites / forums including this one and excluding the load times it takes for opera servers to convert and realign the formats it's quite solid. I also am a mogul user and this is the build I use incase anyone was curious if I was even a fellow mogul user.
Hi,
On my sons Iphone, he gets stock quotes with a push on an icon...
Can this be done with a Diamond?
Something like this maybe? I'm working on it.
Pefect!!! that's it.... When??
JP
I'm not sure yet. I just started playing around with it a few days ago in my spare time. I'll probably post a beta within a couple weeks, or maybe tomorrow, who knows.

WOW...this may save me another grand (by not getting the HD) if you can get that running. I like the appearance and format, as well as the research options.
I WILL DEFINATELY DONATE TO YOU AT THE TIME I DOWNLOAD! YOU ARE MY FAVORITE PERSON OF THE DAY...CONGRATS!
...in the meantime you could look at Stock Manager. Works well on my Diamond.

Right now, just using http://wireless.etrade.com. Not as fast, and interested in getting it into a tab in TF3D (see there is manila files from the HD already on this site, so may get my wish). I like the format of this one much better, so may run both (depending on final product, and visibility of all the markets).
THANKS AGAIN!
this looks really awesome!! looking forward to your app!
please hurry, can't wait any longer...

Hi guys,
i was searching for the same thing and now i use Equity Expert. It works fine and looks ok.
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-equityxpert.html
I'll leave this thread for posting links to the existing apps out there. For those interested in an "XDA-grown" solution, see this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=441204
I changed the colors from the original design, and posted a working proof of concept, which will soon be the full blown thing. Screenshot below.
that all looks so cute!!! i really can't wait
You guys looking for a Stock app, should relax and lay back and let the Masters/geniuses of XDA Developing, eventually port Black Stone ROM to Diamond.
Then we shall have the cool stock TF3D app.
Dont get me wrong Member GeckoDev, looks like your app is gonna kick assss
Thanks.

I'm all good with competition. I was really just doing it for myself, but I saw a few threads like this one and thought others might enjoy it too. If you like it, help me make it better. If you like something else, that's cool too, post a link for others.

This matches my theme much better, so you are my favorite person today as well. I will run both yours, and the TF3D tab from the HD. I like your format much better. The HD tab will give me quick glance, but your tab will help me make decisions wirelessly before I buy/sell on my E*Trade account.
Fantastic job!
I was the one who initially posted the question about the stock quotes program...
So I am very pleased with the great work there has been done..
Alas, I can not install it because my diamond refuses to install Net CF 3.5.
I get an errormessage about freeing space (lots of space left) and about a "errormessage" 2
Can somebody please help?
I got the ice of changing in the registry:
HKey_Local_Machine - Software - Microsoft - .NETCompactFramework
click on 2.0.7045.00 - 1 to 0
click on 3.5.7283.00 - 0 to 1
3.5.7283.00 isn't even in mmy registery....
Thanks
I agree the Equity Expert is very nice VGA stock quotes applications and its also ready to work with the Touch HD, Omnia and Xperia devices !

One alternative is to find a good PDA friendly portfolio-tracking website and bookmark that. Anyone know of any?
yahoo's portfolio? bloomberg's????

A Parsing Application! Nothing more!
WoW!!!
How good does this look?
Only prob is it is not a free app, and probably rightly so as I have never seen an android browser do this before!
If anyone gets it, post review here.
Enjoy

Here is score and a few things it did not do so well on. Looks like its good for basic browsing.
Hope this is helpful
I am running on Vache rom with the acer rings wifi patch and 3.01 patch.
This is pretty darn sweet. Thanks for the find MJ-12, and thanks ER for the screenshots. Worth double the price.
Your very welcome I have been using it all day.
Its kinda a taste to what I think android will become. The same Dev has a few other floating. Apps. Like a calculator.
definitely cool enough to drop a buck and a half on. I played with it for a few minutes and then moved on but when the time comes and I need a couple browsers at the ready Ive got an app for that!
If any developers are interested in how he's doing it, he's registering the app as a service and drawing to the notification layer which also allows you to intercept (and act upon) touch events.
Not saying this app is doing it, but beware of apps that request those permissions, they could in theory log every touch on your screen.
Chrome Beta does much better

Chrome beta scores 350 approx already... guess they might add such feature in the future
That is pretty slick. They have a calculator that does the same thing too. True multitasking here we come!
Just tried it, works great, thanks for sharing!
had this since i read about it on...... where was it, phandroid or android central, one of the two.
definetly worth the money. don't use it that much but its really nice when i do.
tip: leave browser defaults unchecked, so your tab prompts you to choose a browser and you can choose overskreen. its like window's "open link in new window"
