Hi there, I'm a happy owner of a Leo since yesterday.
Had before a iPhone and earlier a TyTN II. Leo seems to be the perfect combination.
But I cant connect with activesync on my XP desktop.
Don't have any problems with connecting the TyTN II (and trash that connection for setting a partnership with the leo).
Have use the search but cant find any simular problems. Does any has the same problems or know the solution?
Edit: Problem solved, dropped Exchange settings and reboot mobile device

Using 4.1, got Qtek Rom on a Vario. Been syncing fine for weeks, now...just says connecting. It must be my Vario as my E200 connects no probs and syncs up properly. Tried going back to 3.8 (yeah I know) 4.0 and re-installing 4.1 but it won't connect...any idead argh !?
Hi there,
What message do you get? Getting settings I suppose?
Disable the firewall and try again ( this helped me, while upgrading a Wizard of a friend!)
Good luck!
Activesync Problems
I had this problem too - was syncing just fine for weeks then all of a sudden nothing. Managed to narrow it down (unfortunately had to delete the as profile each time and start anew) and I can safely say that in my case at least it was due to the "Synchronised Files" feature. I decided not to use synchronised files (i.e. I unchecked "Files" under "Options") and now I have it syncing everything else perfectly - on two separate PCs with absolutely no more issues.
Hope this helps mate.
Forgot to mention I have an o2 mini s. (Not the XDAII as indicated <--)

Did you install any firewall software? Do you have active firewall when running AS? Did you regedit your Wizard's registry in branches of AS?
Well at least you get some connection.
When I connect my KJAM I get the normal 'ding dong' and then NOTHING.
If I connect my old PDA2K to the same port it works fine!!!!!!!

Thanks for the help. I disabled my firewall (Kerio), reset the PC, did the other network hacks to try and get activesync to work. But it wouldn't.
But like I said my E200 (Voyager) sync'd no probs. Somehow as mentioned I think the registry got upset by some fiddling and a hard reset was the the cure then many hours getting it back to settings again, re-installing aps on mem card so I could see them on the phone as icons etc etc.
My device is a Vario with a Qtek Rom (tried K-Jam like the less stuff on the Qtek) with the extended Rom unlocked.

Didn't think to try this. I actually had this prob on my Magician (MDA compact) before I sold it. Should have remembered. Cheers.
Hello,
In fact activesync seems to be te culprit of most my 9100 problems and slowdowns.
I am currently using Activesync 4.1.4841 and when synchronizing with my Wizard everything seems to be working correctly for a first sync. Then I disconnect it from USB, wait a few seconds and try to sync again and it takes forever...slowing down the Pocket PC drastically (until soft-reset)...until returning a timeout message:
"Synchronization cannot be completed sucessfully. Reconnect your device and try again. If the problem persists, see the Microsoft ActiveSync Troubleshooter in Microsoft ActiveSync Help on your desktop computer."
Any ideia how this might be solved?
Cheers,
Francisco Teixeira
Hi
New K Jam arrived today.
I installed Activesync 4.1 on my IBM Laptop, I downloaded the 106 rom as my phone has the 104 version.
Connected the phone to the laptop and I saw something about new hardware but Activesync is doing NOTHING, NADA not a bloody thing.
Cannot see the K Jam on USB.
Any ideas?
Before anyone suggests it I have turned off the Firewall, although it beats me how Mictrosfot could write software that requires the Firewall to be de-activated to work but I have seen comments to say it helps.
IDEAS PLEASE.........
Robin
I have since connected my old imate PDA2K and this connects and works fine.
it is JUST the KJAM which does not want to connect.
PLEASE does anyone have ANY idea what the problem could be?
Cheers.
Robin
I believe I had a similar issue when I got my wizard... I think I had named my old and new devices the same and could not get the new to sync.
I renamed the new device, did a soft reboot and rebooted my PC, then all went well.
I do not know if this was the issue, but I have not had any other issues since.
On the IBM this was a first time install of Activesync so no name problems.
STILL no connection to KJAM.

Initially on my laptop i had no probs
i felt i needed to hard reset my wizard so after that, the laptop just wouldnt have it
thought hard and searched multiple forums... it ended up being my firewall.
ZoneAlarm for some reason has conflicts with it. I can understand to an extent that our wizards use a network connection so to speak to connect and sync with our pc's... and if this is not in your trusted networks in your firewalls... then its blocked
does this help you?
if you do have ZA or maybe another software firewall, disable it, then try.
I am not aware of any firewall other than Windows Firewall installed on the machine.
On the other hand the fact that when I coonect my old PDA2K it connects and works fine tells me I don't have a firewall problem?

hi everyone, i had recenetly hard reseted my Xda Exec by accident, after that i couldn't sync with my activesync 4.1, i had delete my old relateionship plus installed activesync 4.2, but it still not working!!! the phone and pc can detect each other, but they just don't sync, both screen apperaed "syncing" and stay there for an hour. what should i do now??? i don't to type in all the number one by one again!!!
hi
I get the exact same thig here, but ave narrowed the problem down.
If I use Tweaks2k and have GPRS ALWAYS ON set to on, then I can't activesync at all, either cable or bluetooth, it just sits there looking for changes.
If I toggle GRPS ALWAYS ON to off, then it works fine.
Anyone else noticed this, or is it a known issue?
FYI, I have a o2 Exec with latest O2 ROM and am using push email
Merlin
My HTC P3600 is having some weird problems with activesync... Basically the activesync just don't recognize the equipment... Weird!
Anyone have any idea what is the problem???
My blueangel using wm05 just works so fine in the same pc...
I Had the same problem...perhaps your issue is the same as mine was...
I corrected it by going to start>settings>Connections>USB to PC and then unchecked the box next to: Enable advanced network functionality...it is the only option on that screen - and it is either checked or unchecked...I unchecked mine to get it to work. Hope that helps...
I think this issue is related to WM5.0 & Activesync 4.2 i/o Trinity.
After 2 long night search on the Net, I finally made my Trinity activesync works with my company notebook. Home PC should be easy. Search for Activesync 4.2 issue on the Net and you can find the issue is in:
1. Firewall
2. That flag mentioned by GeorgeR above
3. Conflicts with VPN client
Hi
I have an HTC Wizard (an O2 Mini S but now unlocked and running WM 6.5)
The WiFi connects to the hub when all security is taken off both devices - some problems with finding pages in IE but the Wizard is shown as connected
However I cannot get it to connect whenever I add any encryption.
Any ideas would be most welcome.
The same thing happened under the original WM 5
Thanks
Problem solved
I cam across WiFi Monster when looking about for solutions, downloaded it and it worked really well. Found all the networks locally and worked immediately when the wireless key was entered. No problems so far using IE.
Hope this can help anyone else having WiFi connection difficulties
