Adblock on Hero - Hero, G2 Touch General

I've been able to install the Adblock app and set up my own APN.
My new APN works for data -- that is, until I specify a proxy of localhost in it. Then all my data connections fail.
Anyone have any tips?

image compression

using tmobile (UK) i am using the dual to surf online with a laptop.
how do improve the image compression that appears on my pc (which doesnt occur using wifi or other ISP)
T-Mobile's web proxy server at work. You can try changing to another proxy as in this suggestion found on Expansys:
http://www.mobileplanet.com/ft.aspx?k=90752
YMMV, of course.
for anyone else who has this issue, (assuming internet explorer)
go to (on your pc) tools, internet options, connections, then down to LAN settings.
Add a tick to proxy and then the IP 149.254.201.132 and port 8080
This worked a treat. It may be possible to add in the proxy directly onto your phone in the proxy settings but i have a feeling it doesnt work the same way.
Thanks for your help!

Setting proxy

Hi folks,
I want to get Adblock running on my Hero.
It seems that for it to work, I need to set the APNs to the right proxies (localhost and port).
Two problems:
-there is no option in my WiFi settings for entering a proxy;
-the options for setting a proxy in my provider APN is "greyed out".
Will rooting let me set these greyed out settings?
If it the proxy is set in the mobile networks APN, will this be enough?
big thanks, sorry if I missed this -- I did a search first.

Proxy over Wifi

Hi guys,
Has anyone been able to configure proxy over wifi? I changed the connection to My Work Network, and changed entered the proxy settings for this connection, but internet is not working for Internet Explorer and Wheater. The only thing I'm able to use is opera, going to the opera:config option and setting the proxy server there.
Using this solution http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1990412#post1990412, the first time I tried to browse with IE, I was asked for the proxy setting (inside the browser), but I'm not able to do it again.
Hope someone knows the trick.

HTTP proxy on 3G, possible?

Hello
I'm trying to get an HTTP proxy working while on 3G on my phone. I've tried pretty much every proxy app I could find and I've tried adding the proxy IP and port to the 3G settings as well, no luck.
The proxy uses username/password authentication, I think that's what's causing the issues.
If anybody successfully set up HTTP proxy on their DHD, please enlighten me

Possibly Free Facebook Data on T-Mobile???

Hi everyone, I've made a rather curious discovery. I have an OLD Nokia E71 which I have been using since my Galaxy S3's screen cracked. I am part of a family plan on T-Mobile, and am not supposed to have data enabled on my line. One day, I was messing around with the settings on my phone, out of boredom. I switched around the APN's a little, and opened the facebook app. To my shock, I found I was able to connect to Facebook WITHOUT a data plan, when I used the t-zones APN. I then delved into the phone settings to see if I could find out the specifications of the t-zones APN. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find much, but I've posted below the settings I could find. Now, the question is, would anyone be able to figure out how to use this on Android? Note: I tested some other apps using the t-zones APN, but none of them were able to access the internet. Only Facebook worked.
Connection name: t-zones
Access point name: wap.voicestream.com
Homepage: http://wap.myvoicestream.com
Data Bearer: Packet Data
Network Type: IPv4
Proxy server address: 216.155.165.050
Proxy port number: 8080
I want to try to duplicate these settings on Android, however, I have basically no knowledge on APNs whatsoever. Any help is appreciated!

I was wondering the same thing myself. However, I figured it out in early December, well before T-Mobile made its announcement.
