I was wondering if it is possible to install Windows Mobile 6.5 on a Elf. Im not too updated on the ROMs mobile scene so if someone could help me out also with some FAQs, thanks.

Thanks for posting a warez site [which is illegal anyways], when he asked for a 6.5 ROM [which are available on this site].
Here's two I highly recommend. With all due respect to other ROM cooks [makers], dsixda and kancrutt make their ROMs seem professional, stable and just overall good. I am personally not going to flash those ROMs with no list of installed programs and about one screenshot.

i ran 6.5 for a while, but it was dog slow and always running out of memory.. so i have reverted back to a 6.1 ROM

In Elf upgrading,download rom ,for example Onix 6 it"s ok.Sory for my bad english

of course you can..just reflash a wm6.1 rom into your device..

Welcome aboard, just a word of advice. Make sure you've read a bit about the whole process, and ensure your phone is CID unlocked before attempting to flash a custom built ROM. You may brick your phone temporarily if you don't.
Check the link to SPL/IPL for the Touch in my signature. Hopefully it'll help.
For Custom Roms for Elf/Elfin, you need to go to Elf Upgrading section!
There you can dwnload and install the Rom of your choice.. its easy. Just be sure to read the FAQs/Instructions carefully before you upgrade!!

yes u can..but please refer to ur respective device forum!
I would suggest to back up everthing from ur mobile even the contacts and also original rom
Before u start flashing note all the information for you mobile like CID,Rom Version, And also OS.
And then try to upgrade to new SPL/IPL that will unlock CID then u can upgrade to 6.1 or 6.5.
!!!!!!! but please refer to ur respective device forum !!!!!!

I only use/try roms published in this thread 'cause I'm really a noob in finding other thrustworthy forums. I started wondering 'cause I found several sites with pictures of QVGA roms running on 6.5.1...

install hslp 1.56 olinex to your device.
once you have this on your device, you will be able to flash to any custom rom for blackstone.

Forget about speed in WM6.5. It's not designed for Blackstone. Stay with 6.1

1.you can test my 6.1 rom that im currently making if you want? (private message me if you would like to test it)
2.personally i found the speed is slightly faster on 6.1roms
3.visit the xda touch hd wiki for the original rom dumps, its too much work to dump the rom yourself so just download one thats already been done. to be honest, you wont even need it.. there is a wide variety of differant custom roms avaliable. (+ the original roms are crap )

I see hungarian flag under cook's name, and I think Wajk cooked at least one ROM in/with hungarian language...

I am planing to purchase one windows mobile company called Digibee its from Bangalore-India. It has WM 6.1 version preinstalled in it.
Earlier I have HTC Excalibure to which I have flashed n mumbers of time to WM 6.5.
Now my query is, can v flash any WM 6.1 to WM 6.5.
Pl. advice.

I think you can, but first search for a 6.5 or 6.5.x rom suitable for your phone. I have a Samsung Omnia i900 which comes with WM 6.1 Pro, now I have cooked (custom) WM 6.5.3 Pro flashed on it and it's working even much better and faster than the preinstalled WM 6.1 Pro. much more memory too.
Just use the Search field for what you need
But the best thing to do is to ask the phones company is it can be upgraded, byt be ware that flashing with custom rom will erase your warranty, but I think you already know all these things cuz like you said, you've already did flashing new rom

Karan it is very good that u know coocking rom. I also have purchased this wm 6.1 DIGIBEE phone. I also trying to update it to 6.5 but .nb0 rom it is not working. I was using the GYGABYTE i120 gsmart phone & i updated it to 6.5 from 6.1 it was also working very fine. The same ROm i tried for DIGIBEE but it didnt find any ROM on SD CARD
Bythe way somebody tell us how to coock won rom. procudure???

Yes of-course you can go for it, you'll never get a windows mobile with good specs at this low price . Its performance was almost same as my previous HTC Fuze (Touch Pro), and it was running under Windows Mobile 6.1.I was searching for its stock ROM so that i can start experiment on it with other ROMs.
And many of the driver files in our digibee matches with Samsung i900 Omnia (Such as, board, processor (Marvell PXA31x), display, battery etc), and if I find digibee stock ROM then ill experiment with i900 ROMs.

Disappointed performance
I am very much disappointed with this device. I cannot load most of the apps found on the net. Installation is a problem and where installation is not a problem the battery heats up like an iron box and drains fast. I wouldnt recommend this for any one.
Under these conditions I dont think any modification like upgrading to WM6.5 will be possible.
