How to upgrade from wm 6.0 to wm 6.1

Hi out there !
Can someone explain to me in a a few words how to upgrade my HTC TOUCH CRUISE tfrom wm 6.0 to wm 6.1
Send me the best link to obtain the upgrade to wm 6.1 please ?
Afraid to send my apparatus to the digital graveyard !

It is not possible to do an upgrade (yet), there is no update available.
The only thing you can do is to use another (cooked) ROM, read the sticky threads and the wiki on how to do that.

Sorry I meant: I wanted to upgrade from wm 6.0 to wm 6.1, how to do that ?

Again,
A pure upgrade is not possible because there is no HTC upgrade available of Windows Mobile 6.1 for our Touch Cruise.
You can only flash your ROM and use a cooked ROM that has a custom Windows Mobile 6.1. To do this, click on the link that fktsndr provided here above and read other sticky posts.

If you want to install 6.5, then after hard spl download the latest version 24 present in the same page. Hope I helped you.
Edit: Dear I just noticed that your device is Htc Diamond. So please go this forum. You will find the correct version for your device.

personally I just grabbed it should I need one for warranty ... I will continue to stick to xda-dev-custom ROMs

i just tried to install this rom on my unlocked td2 - it does not work. installer complains that this rom is not suitable for the phone.

Thanks for posting a warez site [which is illegal anyways], when he asked for a 6.5 ROM [which are available on this site].
Here's two I highly recommend. With all due respect to other ROM cooks [makers], dsixda and kancrutt make their ROMs seem professional, stable and just overall good. I am personally not going to flash those ROMs with no list of installed programs and about one screenshot.

work fine on my touch elf wm 6.5 sx

i ran 6.5 for a while, but it was dog slow and always running out of memory.. so i have reverted back to a 6.1 ROM

In Elf upgrading,download rom ,for example Onix 6 it"s ok.Sory for my bad english

of course you can..just reflash a wm6.1 rom into your device..

I am planing to purchase one windows mobile company called Digibee its from Bangalore-India. It has WM 6.1 version preinstalled in it.
Earlier I have HTC Excalibure to which I have flashed n mumbers of time to WM 6.5.
Now my query is, can v flash any WM 6.1 to WM 6.5.
Pl. advice.

I think you can, but first search for a 6.5 or 6.5.x rom suitable for your phone. I have a Samsung Omnia i900 which comes with WM 6.1 Pro, now I have cooked (custom) WM 6.5.3 Pro flashed on it and it's working even much better and faster than the preinstalled WM 6.1 Pro. much more memory too.
Just use the Search field for what you need
But the best thing to do is to ask the phones company is it can be upgraded, byt be ware that flashing with custom rom will erase your warranty, but I think you already know all these things cuz like you said, you've already did flashing new rom

I also have Samsung Omnia I900. I tried searching thread that could help me on how to upgrade it frm WM 6.1 to WM 6.5 but unfortunately I couldn't find thread that has detailed instruction. Could you help me? Please. Thanks!

Karan it is very good that u know coocking rom. I also have purchased this wm 6.1 DIGIBEE phone. I also trying to update it to 6.5 but .nb0 rom it is not working. I was using the GYGABYTE i120 gsmart phone & i updated it to 6.5 from 6.1 it was also working very fine. The same ROm i tried for DIGIBEE but it didnt find any ROM on SD CARD
Bythe way somebody tell us how to coock won rom. procudure???

Hello Thilak,
Yes of-course you can go for it, you'll never get a windows mobile with good specs at this low price . Its performance was almost same as my previous HTC Fuze (Touch Pro), and it was running under Windows Mobile 6.1.I was searching for its stock ROM so that i can start experiment on it with other ROMs.

And many of the driver files in our digibee matches with Samsung i900 Omnia (Such as, board, processor (Marvell PXA31x), display, battery etc), and if I find digibee stock ROM then ill experiment with i900 ROMs.

Disappointed performance
I am very much disappointed with this device. I cannot load most of the apps found on the net. Installation is a problem and where installation is not a problem the battery heats up like an iron box and drains fast. I wouldnt recommend this for any one.
Under these conditions I dont think any modification like upgrading to WM6.5 will be possible.
