Can't Delete Outlook Account! Help!

I've googled like crazy and searched these forums and cannot find a solution!
I added an email account to my Outlook that I now wish to delete or even just edit settings. For some reason, it doesn't show up under Menu>Tools>Options.
Its just not there!! It does show up in the account picker...but when I click on Menu>Delete NOTHING happens.
Its just...there!
I've seen a thread or 2 where people complain about this, but have yet to find a solution!
I have a theory that the Palm Messaging App that I'm using for SMS has messed something up within outlook. Thats just a guess though. I'm not sure.
I'm also using Sprint Mobile Email app. It has also added an outlook account that doesn't show up and is unable to be deleted or edited (however I wish to keep this one).
I'm comfortable going in and deleting registry settings or files to remove the extra account, I just can't figure out where to do so! This is driving me crazy. Help

if you created the account using ActiveSync, open ActiveSync and select Menu->Options and then clear the checkmark for "E-mail". this should remove the email (account) from your phone. you know if all else fails, you can perform a hard-reset which will clear all email accounts, programs, contacts, etc., that you added to the phone. Settings->System Tab->Clear Storage is the same as a hard reset. Be sure to backup your contacts, pictures, ringtones, etc, to your laptop before doing the hard-reset.

Yeah I appreciate those tips. I was hoping to not have to do a hard reset but its starting to look that way. Now some of my Sprint Client fetched emails are getting into the phantom box for no reason what-so-ever.
I do have an exchange connection going for work, but that has nothing to do with the confused mailboxes. At least I don't think so. Hell, who knows. The phone seems to have slowed down since I installed exchange. Is that normal?
Looks like a hard reset may be in for tonight's excitement.

it's not going to show up you just have to tap+hold the account for the delete to popup.. does it popup or you're saying it's not? sorta confused.
edit ok i re-read your post.. guess it's there just isn't deleting for you.. well the other option is to go in the registry and delete the email account key. but it shouldn't be a big deal because who deletes their email accounts regularly?

on my sprint touch outlook has an asterick next to it and the delete option comes up but you can't select it. I dont have email selected in activesnyc but I do have calendar, contacts, tasks and notes selected. Perhaps that's the reason outlook can't be deleted from the email accounts list?

Do you know where the email account key is? or which key it is?

How to change server credentials MS Mobile 6
You've probably sorted yourself out by now but if you haven't here's what you need to do.
Go to ActiveSync -> menu -> options, select Microsoft Exchange and then press delete. This will remove the ActiveSync relationship. Then just create a new one.

I have been trying to find answers for "messed up outgoing display name" when setting up email accounts & the (silent mail) or "stealth" outlook.
Bad entry in "exchange mail (outlook) windows mobile 6.5 and still can't find any visible means of deleting, changing or updating the "silent" outlook email settingsl 3 days non stop research and web searching...now, I find this site. Thank you!
I received my phone 4 days ago (and only received the HAND SET), after fighting carrier for 7 months regarding the non functioning phone with multiple defects that stared one week after full price purchase. No instructions, no charger, no connector cords for PC to HH Device, NOTHING! not to mention the sim card also missing.

sorry, I was in schook when we hand wrote everything and a plunker typewriter was what we used for a manditory "typeing" class.... A little in the Flinstone Age - but really adapting - this phone was my stepping out, and I was and still am very excited to play with this new toy -

I have only used a form of active sync on my Palm Pilot for nursing, b) but, that was hooked up and set up entirely tech department and they just told me what to do (enter contacts, updates like that into computer, then hook up the cords, and press the sync button" = that's it
Now, taking a deep breath because a solution is within reach I am ging to attempt the task but i do need step[step directions involving active sync and it has to be from the get go please....anyone.....
Hopefully others that get in this same slump will stumble upon this site, and help avoid such frustrations.
Thank you all for your knowledge base, and contributions, I am confident that the name floating in computer space hidden in the "Stealth" Outlook is beginning to appear.

thanks, i had the same problem today, and this helped my delete my exchange email address....

The Quoted solution, solved my problem with Exchange.

I had a problem with Windows Mob 6.5. I was not able to Syc with company email service due to the Syc error message. I applied the above solution and reconfigured my account, than the Syc service came back.

HTC HD2 Facebook integration

Just 2 questions
1. Is there a way of sync-ing your phone contacts with facebooks so it uses the contacts face book picture etc, i can do this individualy but is there a way of doing it in one big go.
2. Can you sync your facebook calander to the HTC HD2 calander?

1. Login your facebook account in Setting/Data services. It will sync your contact with facebook avatar and birthday but the names in your contact book must be the same with your facebook friend names, if not, u have to sync one by one
2. I dont think we can

Anybody know of a better facebook app out there for the HD2?? Lets face it, the one that comes out of the box is about as much use as tits on a fish.......

the integration info is saved in the 'notes' field of your contact. once you sync back AND associate your phone with fb they will all re sync.

The one reason syncing with fb is good: profile pictures. Most of my friends dont like me to sit there, and take a picture of them when they give me their number, so this helps.

This works for most of my contacts, but I had to do a hard reset ant almost 1/4 didn't have nothing in Notes field - so didn't associate automatically. Is there any way to make a "full resync" or something similar so I don't have to manually associate those contacts next time?
P.S. something more simple than manually adding a Note

Does anyone have problem with this facebook sync. Everytime I try to sync, my HD2 gets verry laggy until it don't respond, and I have to pull my battery. This happens when i manually select update now, or if my phone is set to automaticaly update. Its really annoying

I have done hard reset a bunch of times. HTC customer support told me to install the latest ROM, and then do a hard reset. I tryed it, but with no luck. Everything else, works like a charm. I do use ROM from HTC 1.66.409.1 (76641) NOR. Maybe I should look into some custom ROM's? Any tips for a good rom? I have been searching the forum and there is so many to choose from. Can I use anyone? Or should it be one for Norway?

Do u have HSPL on your phone? If yes, try to install a couple of cook roms. Remember to do a task 29 before flashing any rom. If u have no idea about what HSPL or Taks29 is, please do take a look in the HD2 Rom development, read threads about them, and there's also a thread for noob flashing guide. It takes time but worth it.
I can suggest u a couple of cook roms I've used but it's better that u should look into the Rom threads to see which one suit ur needs, every rom is really good and fast, stable more than stock rom. I can recommend some such as CleanEX, Energy or Touch-X

i tried it on my HD2, it does work but it does take a long time to sync and transfer facebook details to your contacts (well maybe for me coz i linked like 100+ contacts)
but one thing good about this is that it edited the birthday field on my contacts on my device, and now can be used by manilaBirthday
also, if contact doesnt exist on your device, u can add friends from FB to ur contact list

question... if i login to the sense facebook without enabling it to download automatically every 2 hours, would facebook in sense still try to update by itself?
the reason here is i logged in to facebook in sense but did not enable automatic downloading yet surprisingly my phone started to access my internet. others experience the same?

does any1 know how to get the facebook sync back in action after turning it off. I disabled it temporarily, but I lost all the synced data as a result. After reactivating it, it no longer syncs (although for some reason it seems to acknowledge that the contacts have a facebook profile linked to them, but it is unable to download photos, updates etc)
Is there anyway to do it aside from a hard reset? Something I'd rather avoid

No one has come across "snaptu"? Go to http://m.snaptu.com . there you download a app for your hd2, there is unsigned and verisigned which i dont understand the significance of it. But i lliked it. It is a JAVA app so you need to run JBlend and then snaptu app. i can do everything as on a computer except CHAT. Do you know anything better? please tell me. especially one that you can chat with.

HD2_Googlemail doesnt´sync labels ..only inbox

i searched bloody fingers and google for an "issue" i cannot fix or understand
in my gmail webinterface i have labels and they are syncing fine with outlook2007 / beta 2010 also and fine with the webinterface of gmail.
but with my HD2 / Leo gmail client i cannot sync label and it´s content. Send/Receive only sync mails in the inbox but no label/subfolder...
i delete the profiles and start over with a fresh gmail-profile but nothing happend
any other here had that "issue " before? i cannot find in gmail support wall any similiar thread or case...

When viewing messages in Outlook Mobile, you will have to select Menu (Right softkey) -> Tools (in HD2 you will have to scroll up the menu to see this option) -> Manage Folders...
And then select the labels you want to sync. Note that in this view you can longpress each folder and select more Folder Options.

At first, I didn't see too that there were more options. I've only found them because I'd known there must be more options.
I think these menus have this flaw in their design.

Best way to backup contacts?

Hi,
I have spent two evenings trying to reorganize my contact list and understand how the different backup solutions work. I have found a lot of advice, but none that seem to work on X10. I asked for help in SE support forum, but I doubt that they will answer.
So, what is the best option for backing up contact data?
SE sync:
+ contact photos are stored
+ keeps deleted contacts in the trashbin (nice when contacts have mysteriously disappeared from the phone)
- facebook and twitter connections are lost
- address entries do not seem to work (there might be more faulty fields, I didn't test all)
Google sync:
- does not seem to be able to sync entries/modifications from phone to gmail!
- contact photos are lost
- facebook and twitter connections are lost
Facebook sync:
I have matched my contacts, but can't see any effect of it on the phone, on facebook or on SE sync... But I'm a newbie on this one.
Edit: Does not work on 1.6, we need to wait for 2.1.
Backup to SD card, e-mail/transfer file to computer: (contacts -> settings -> backup contacts -> SD card)
+ reliable (?)
- seems to destroy contact images
- requires some manual efforts

I can only comment on one aspect of your query and that is that Facebook sync only works for Android 2.?? so won't help you whilst your phone is on version 1.6.
Hope others can help you on the other side of things.

i have to say your wrong about google sync not modifying changes from phone to google. you have to enable auto sync to allow it, if not you have to run the sync manually from time to time.
i have never used facebook or SE sync and i seem to have up to the minute modifications both on phone and web using google sync.

Did you try logging in Facebook and Twitter and then running the restore... My Pictures from SD cards were there in contacts...... I will try today with Facebook and twitter after I reload 026 firmware.....

Well, you're lucky. Auto sync is enabled. However, nothing moves from the phone to gmail - only the other way.
From what I have read on various forums, gmail only accepts contacts that were originally stored on gmail and then transfered to the phone. However, even such contacts are not synced back to gmail when I edit them on the phone. Perhaps my phone is buggy? I have specified the tests I have made (http://talk.sonyericsson.com/message/6621#6621), but I'm not sure that anyone can help.

Facebook and twitter data are indeed stored in the .vcf file that the phone creates.
I don't want to risk losing my 500 contacts, so I haven't dared to import the whole file. I extracted one person and made a new file, but that file would not import. Please share your experiences!

Google sync: an issue with appointments!!!!

I own an hd2 and I use it for push email, contact and appointments with gmail. It works flawlessly apart from the fact that IF I delete an appointment in Google calendar on my pc, my pda asks to resync ALL appointments. It seems to be a bug cause if I delete appointments from the pda, everything goes well without warning or error messages.

In what sense? I sync and it works. It's just one way it generates this error.

Either You sync it with ActiveSync when connected to the PC or by HSDPA-connection "over the air".
Anyway You have to check the sync-rules .................

I sync over the air via hsdpa (ota). I checked and re-checked the rules. Maybe you're right and my settings are not perfect, please can you post yours?
My settings about appointments simply allow to sync up to last two weeks. There are no other options.
More, it happens only when I delet events on the gcalendar page but NOT WHEN on that same page I creat an event instead of creating it on the pda. That's a mistery, a real one for me!!!

Go to start-menu, then "tools", then Active-sync
In Active sync choose "menu" then "options" , then click on/mark "calendar" and "settings" and choose "all"
This should sync all dates of Your Google calendar in the past and future.
Then go to "menu" again, choose "(time) schedule" (mine is in German, don´t know how it is called in English) and choose:
main time: e.g. four hours
and the "side time" (???) beneath: manual
tick "when clicked on "sending" send and receive"

First of all thanks a lot for your kindness. I had exactly all your settings apart from one: sync last two weeks and all future appointmens but, sincerely, I don't think this simple changing will fix the issue I've noticed. In fact, the problem appears in just one occasion and, more in detail as I said, just when I delete events online from my pc. It's strange and I'm going to test it again now, then I'll report here.

I know I know, but it's a very good service cause it allows to sync everything and once you get used to the idea...you can't live without it!
