Issue - unable to install an ExtRom Cab (not signed?)

Hi all,
I'm trying to install an ExtRom cab from Orange French rom which include the PVPlayer (necessary for live TV).
However, I get a message "install was unsuccessful .... not digitally signed with a trusted certificate"...
I've run Buzz ExtRom unlocker tool with success, but now I dunno what to do to install this cab.
Anyone can help me on this?

I think i'm missing how works ext rom...

Try to copy all that you need to have into the extended rom folder, inclusive of the config.txt file (make sure the parts that you want are referred to in this txt).
Do a hard reset and let your device customize automatically.
If it does not work, try with all original extended rom files.

Ok, so it can't be installed like any programs... you need to install them at the same time as the rom after a hard reset.
Damn, should have asked before then, now I have so many things installed...
I guess I'll try to find another way before trying this.

With some you can, with others you cannot. I think it has got something to do with loading the certificates first before you can install the signed versions of the cabs in the ex-rom.
You could try to install the certificates cab (is you can find which one that is) and then install the signed cab after it.
Let us know if and how it works!

Well I have installed two cert cabs :
Cert_SPCS.cab (from LokiWiz tools)
and PP_Certificate_OR_Jan23_Wizard.cab (from Orange Ext Rom)
But nothing changed before and after soft reset
I don't understand why adding this screen rotate icon on tray is signed...
The other cab I want to install is the PVplayer used for live TV.
Must be a simple way to install those cabs.

I should try this then, so I have to make the Ext rom folder appear with Buzz tools, then copy what I want in it and hard reset right?

PVP player does not work with my dopod rom.

How did you do this, did you took it from another extrom? or did you signed it somehow?
anyway, about PVPlayer, I suceeded to install one (in attachement), but I need to pass through pocket IE and Orange web to click on a live tv link (then I think it open the pvplayer).
But it didn't worked with the one I installed, I guess something was missing to make the link between IE and PVP
That's why I wanted to try the cab in orange fr extrom (also in attachment).
Well anyway, thanks you very much for the above cab that worked, at last I have the screen rotate on Today screen !!

No, it comes standard unsigned with the NL Orange ex-rom.

So I have modified the ext rom so that at the hard reset it could install that cab (which I have attached to my last post):
MP-Shortcut-MMS1-JAVA5XX-CV-VOICE-PVPLAYER-Orange-FR-060118.CAB
But it seems that it has not worked since I have no PVplayer installed on my prophet... maybe the signature is prohibing the install from ext rom too.
Well, is there anyway to remove the signature of this cab or install a signature on it so that it could be installed on my dopod rom ?
Is there a cert cab I could use to install the sig on the prophet and then install this cab?
sorry if my question seems stupid, quite new on that part.

Hey, i got the I-mate JAMin, but there's no config.txt in the EXtRom. ANybody knows the language and the way it should be coded?

not sure about this, I've seen 2 ext rom so far and both had text files config.txt or something...
But that's a bit of topic :wink:

I have the same problem with the Dutch Orange version when installing on the Dopod ROM. It does install, but I get a "non-imaged" icon in my programs folder that gives me a error message when I click it.
I have decided to forget about it all together.

I've unlocked my Jamin extended ROM and deleted "ALL" the files in it. Then I did a hrd reset and guess what..... all the files were restored.
This means that there is another ROM that the files are stored in even if you delete or cook the ext Rom, hard rest just igores it totally.

I guess i'll just wait for the possibility to go back to the orange rom from the dopod one :?

Full manila HD cab keeps loading..??

I used to have the TF3D(With tha panel installer) cab installed on my Xperia and it worked fine.
I decided to give Manila HD cab a shot sence people were saying it was working faster.
I did a hard reset and installed the manila HD cab by itje, installed the panelinstaller but when I choose to start TF3D it keeps loading...
I've searched the forum but I can't find the answear.
I wonder if I'm supposed to install the cabs in a certain order for it to work...
Anyone who can help???

I was told just quit by clicking "panel" key, and re-select this panel. I haven't tried it, so let me know if it works.

I did try that...it didn't work. I did a soft reset as well but no luck...
I installed the Manila HD cab on my storage card by the way. I don't know if that can be the problem because I did the same thing on my TF3D and it worked fine...

Yes,I gotta the same problem and at last it is solved by re-installing the cab in phone rather than card.

My HTC TOUCH HD T8282 TF3D not working

Dear All,
I am New here and I just purchased a HD in Dubai. When I started the unit after TF3D launches few seconds later it will again initiate the TF3d saying " Tap here to launch Touch Flo" It will go off and on like this also when I try to run some application using Touch flo it is same. Hence now i am not using the TF3D
If someone can help out me with this problem. I even update the 1.56 Official ROM still the same.
Looking forward for your suggestions

This occurred right out of the box, correct? You've probably already tried this, but if not, try going to "today" in settings and untick TF3D, exit, and go back and re-tick and exit. Do you have an SD card in? If so, try pulling your SD and sim card out and try another hard reset.

Thanks for the answer. I tried it already however I did not remove the sim and sd I will do as u told and check for today and reply u later. Thanks for the suggestions.

i tried now the prob is " a problem has occured with audiomanager _eng.exe". And another " a problem has occured with filesys.exe". Also another one Shell32.exe error
This is most of them when Touch flo is on. Is there any update for Touchflo so that may that will correct this problem

If the device functions normally with the stock windows rom, but not in TF3D then there is a conflict somewhere with the TF3D rom. A multitude of things could be going on between windows and the TF3D overlay. I think you're getting those errors because TF3D has not loaded or can't load to perform the task and thus the errors. I have to say I'm at a loss on what is causing this for you. It maybe that flashing a cooked rom is an answer. Those are updated and vastly improved builds of TF3D, among other things. Could be the overhaul you need. If you do, especially in your case, use USPL 2.5 to flash not HSPL. USPL will preserve your original SPL thereby not voiding your warranty. Also, make sure the cooked rom is based on 1.56 and pull your SD card before flashing. I'm using Dutty's 3.0 XT Ship, which is based on the 1.56 upgrade, and it's amazing how fast and stable my phone and TF3D is now. I wish I could think of or knew of an easier solution, although flashing isn't that tough. And if flashing a cooked rom doesn't work, you can always flash back to your original rom. The wiki has just about every original stock rom available.

Uninstalling Programs (i.e. CoPilot) From HTC ROM?

I got my new HD2 yesterday, lovely thing! The first thing I did was flashed bepe and co's HSPL and installed the latest HTC ROM from the HTC website to replace my T-Mobile shipped ROM.
However, there are a couple of items I'd like to uninstall, such as CoPilot. How do I go about doing this? The 'Manage Installed Programs' menu does not have any entries, thus I am at loss on how to go about doing this?
I will eventually get a cooked ROM on the device, however just wanting to familiarise myself with the device first.

you can't remove from a stock ROM, you'd have to go down the cooked route for that...

That explains that then . What ROM would you recommend for a 'clean' install?

Actually you can delete Copilot by using File Manager to delete its folder in the Programs folder. Frees up several megabytes of memory, too!

Either Dutty or Miri are good for doing stripped down ROMs. They both offer a version with Sense still on it, but with other doings removed.

Just remove all the files and optionally the reg entries. Nothing there to disturb you after that...

Problems installing cabs on T-mobile HD2

I am having problems installing cabs on my new HD2 with T-mobile. About 90% of the ones I try just say uninstallable after I save them. I tried to download the BsB tweak cab and same thing. I tried to download .NetCF 3.5 and it won't install either. Can anyone give me an idea, and also is there a place on my phone I can find out what .NetCF I'm running? Do the HD2's already have 3.5 on them? I've done a search on here to try and find answers but nothing yet.

Try a Soft Reset, see if that helps...if not Hard Reset

amstaff, what exactly happens when you try to install CF3.5? Are you trying it from a cab or a desktop installer?

sirphunkee- I'm trying it from a cab. .NetCF keeps saying this is a previous version, that's why I was wondering if I have 3.5 already. I don't know where to look and see. I tried to download a cab off modaco that says which version is running but I can't install that cab. It's one that just says uninstallable.

Yeah you know what, I thought I had to put 3.5 on here when I first got it, but I remember now that it was never needed so I assumed it was already on here.
Whatever is causing your problem, I don't think it's CF3.5, because I never put it on and I have BsB Tweak running just fine, and I've never had installation issues like that. So yeah, I think a hard-reset might be a good place to start, to try to get whatever is interefering with your installs cleared up.

Are you saving them to the SD card and running them from there? If so, try one running on the phone instead...just to rule out any issue with the card.

I tried that too. It still wont let me install. Is there some safety thing or something I need to disable? I remember in Vista microsoft made it impossible to delete and download some files, did they do something like that on winmo 6.5? It was like you had to have the administrator rights or something. I don't know what's going on, but customizing a windows phone is one of it"s best attributes, I can't even install any games. I need some help, please!

man...this is a chin scratcher never heard of any thing like this before. maybe it has something to do with the certificates. have you tried installing a free app from the marketplace that came on the phone. im curious if that would work.where are you getting the cabs you are trying to install. try something from freeware pocket pc.net

Yeah, the only apps that should potentially give you issues for insufficient rights when installing are homebrewed ones like those found here...but as long as you have sdkcerts installed even those shouldn't do that. But it sounds like the issue here goes beyond that because you're trying to install things that shouldn't need that anyway

T-Mobile HD2 (US) already has NetCF 3.5 installed.

I have tried cabs from here and from places like pocketpc.net and so many won't install. There are some that do but like I said about 90% don't. What is the sdkcerts or whatever, I don't think I have that do I need it to install some cabs? Please someone give me some Ideas. Thanks for letting me know about NetCF 3.5 I was wondering about that. But again need some ideas for the cabs. Thanks for the help and ideas so far.

You just install it like normal, it sounds like it went on fine for you....so the problem has to be somewhere else, but I'm really still at a loss on this one. I don't know what other cabs/apps you're trying, but I know BsB installed on mine without a hitch.
Let me ask you this....when you're using file explorer to navigate to a cab you want to install, do you do it in landscape mode? And then, as soon as you click the cab, you filp to portrait? I just remembered that whenever I did that, it killed the install, and I would need to click the cab to run it while in portrait mode. Just a thought.

Is there a place I need to check or something that maybe makes me administrator that could be guest or something right now?

sirphunkee-when I download and install cabs I click the link, it sends me to the save screen, I most of the time save to my card and then install...but I have tried to save to the hard drive and install but it doesn't seem to matter which way I do it. When I save and install, I just leave the phone in the regular position, I don't turn it on its side. Some of the apps I've tried to install as cabs that didn't work are grooveshark for 6.5 from pocketpc.net, BsB Tweaks from here, there was a couple of others I just tried to see if they would work from 1800pocketpc and they didn't work either. Only a few are installing without any problem. Thanks for your help sirphunkee, I appreciate it.
