Windows Marketplace Problems - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Themes and Apps

Anyone having any issues with Windows Mobile Marketplace this morning? It may just be an issue with flashed ROMs. Mine was running fine yesterday afternoon but last night I tried to kick it off and it said there was an update available and it would try to download it. It gets to the same point every time(about 85%) and says that Windows Marketplace cannot connect right now. I know I don't have any connection issues. Still doing the same thing for me this morning.
I did the registry hack a little while back to change the version to .5.3.00 or something like that and it worked fine.
Anyone have any problems with it, or is it working for anyone with a cooked ROM?

Yup I'm getting the same message. I'm on unbranded UK Touch pro2 using stock 6.5. I've also got a CAB installed that allows me to save apps on my SD card. don't know if that might nake a difference.

At least I know I'm not alone I wonder what the fix is...

i was getting that same error and uninstalled marketplace and used this cab. everything is back to normal now

Thanks, quick question does that .cab allow for saving programs to an SD card?

i believe it doesn't sorry

Ok, for those who are getting the "Windows Marketplace for Mobile cannot connect right now. Try again later." I have been able to duplicate the error occurring w/ the hacked version of Marketplace that comes from XDA which allows storage to SD card.
After un-installing hacked version & replacing w/ default Marketplace software, it updates properly now. I uninstalled default version and re-installed hacked version I got the error message again. I finally un-installed hacked version again and re-installed default version and now everything is working again.
Hope this helps!
BTW, I have 6.1 on T-Mo TP2.

Yeah i have the same problem... I uninstall marketplace then reinstall the stock marketplace and it works fine, then install the hack version that allows SD card saves and get error message...... still no luck with hacked version.......

same thing here. but i've come to the conclusion that marketplaces sucks anyhow. and if i cant download to my sd card that i DON"T want it on my phone. so till xda comes up with a new verison for the sd card i will not put it on my phone

it driving me crazy i just cant get marketplace to connect..
after i updated my rom to windows 6.5 official t-mobile UK ..
i have tried changing the registry like says in the forum but still doesnt work..
i have tried the hacked version and the official and still will not work.
the hacked version says needs to update and while updateing just shutsdown..
any help will be great thanks..

GPRS Monitor

I cannot install GPRS Monitor from myO2 CD, it says i need to update my ROM, i did a corporate install btw
Anyone else had any probs?
Another forum member had this same problem when installing the ClearVuePDF Reader also supplied by o2 as part of the HTC application suite. He has the MDA, but flashed with the o2 Exec ROMs and then installed in Corporate mode.
From work we did together, it appears to be just the install program that was not validating his device. When I tried a hard-reset and Corporate mode install, I had no problems installing. However, its beginning to look as though a hard-reset does not totally clear the Exec's memory. In his case, I found all the individual files and registry settings needed for ClearVuePDF to run and he copied those to the device. Runs perfectly for him like that.
So I'm afraid you'll have to find somebody with the o2 version of GPSMonitor installed and get them to determine all the files/locations and registry-settings needed to get it to run. Unfortunately I don't have a GPRS connection or GPRSMonitor installed.
Just a thought. Have you yet tried a full o2 Personal mode install on your device? It just might be this action that puts 'something' in memory that is not cleared by a hard-reset, and that 'something' might be what the install program is looking for.
Sorry that I can't be more helpful.
No problem thanks for your help

I did a basic install and I get the same error. Sorry, Not much help though.

Me too. The ClearVuew PDF reader is rubbish! Text misalighed all over - Adobe with pixel doubling is better than this.
Please try this
Could one of you having a problem to install the o2 supplied GPRSMonitor, please try installing the attached .CAB after copying it to your device.
This CAB is extracted from the CD-ROM install program, so hopefully skips the validation stuff. With luck you might be able to get around the failed validation by installing from this CAB.
Note: Even if asked to install to Storage Card, the o2 supplied version (2.3.0 build 600) puts very little there, most goes into device memory. The current version 2.41 from spb will obey the instruction to install to SD-Card, but wasn't reliable when run from there - the monitoring part aborted four times in 10-minutes whilst I was playing with it.
Unfortunately, since I don't have the install problem, I can't test this install out.
It works a treat. Thanks muchly!

Am I glad about that - I was in the midst of trying to locate all the files/registry entries needed for a manual install.
Perhaps I can go to bed now!
I also managed to 'locate' another copy and it works fine, thanks for all the help.

I can confirm this but with other files. After several hard resets (even with the clear storage icon), the pictures I had taken were still there.

Ouch! I didn't realsie it was as bad as that.
The situation is made worse by the backup program I'm using (Sunnysoft Backup Manager) not backing up all the data and settings. Neither does it perform a true restore - just merges the backup with what's there after the hard-reset.
Unfortunately, I'm used to HP's backup applet from the Jornada 928; which performed a total backup/flush restore. Are there any other applets for WM5/universal that really performs a full backup/restore?
Does anyone have this cab please? I have just bought a new O2 exec and am having the same problem with it saying my ROM version is too old!!
sorry ignore that post! Work computer blocked the file out
I am running my XDA EXEC in basic mode. When I tried copying the .cab file to my device and running it from there , still get the problem.
Any suggestions ?
I was running personal mode then switched to basic mode, could this cause the problem.
Thanks for you replies in advance.
Cannot remove GPRS monotr app
I installed this file to test it out om M3000. Unfortuntely I cannot seem to uninstall it now! It doesnt show up in my Program list - How do you uninstall it?
I looked in the \\windows folder and removed all files and shoretcuts I could find, but its still showing up on my 'today' screen with an error.
Any ideas? The registry?
Cheers
rob
Linuxgeek:
I was also getting the ROM version problem installing programs to my SD card on my O2 exec. Since I'd only just added the card and was running the basic installation, I did the following:
1) Hard reset
2) Personal Install
3) Re-install ActiveSync on PC
This did the trick. Thankfully I like the Personal install best anyway, but I don't know if that step was necessary.
Tried it. Still get the problem :-(
My mistake - I managed to install the Clearvue PDF program, not the GPRS monitor program. I'm still getting the ROM version error with the GPRS monitor program, but I've not tried the above download yet.
Anyone got any other ideas to fix this problem.
Shame O2 don't have an update to fix this problem on their website.
I've now tried the CAB posted above by astage and I can confirm it worked for me. Just copy the CAB to your device and then open it to start the install.

Apps compatible with 6.1

Hey guys,
So I managed to flash to the "official", but not yet released radio and Rom. GPS is working, Sprint TV is working, and Rev A as well. Life is good.
However, I tried to install the Home Customizer and it locked up my phone as soon as I booted up. Eventually, I had to just do a hard reset and re-do all my settings. So that got me thinking...is there a list anywhere of which programs are confirmed as being compatible with the new Rom and WM 6.1?
I know I've seen a thread like this before, but can't find one specifically about WM 6.1 and the new ROMs....for those of you who have upgraded, what are your current must-have programs? Right now all I really have is Google Maps.
If this ground has already been covered, forgive me...I did search some before posting.
the only program that i used that doesnt currently work with wm 6.1 is skype, other that that i dont know or any other programs that have any troubles with wm 6.1, every other program ive used have worked perfectly
send me a private message with your email and i'll send you a few i enjoy.
Thanks Josh,
Anybody else have any suggestions?
Another question: Somehow I managed to get a Sprint TV shortcut in my Start Menu, but unfortunately it's the Sprint TV setup. so when I click it, it tries to download the application again. When I tried to remove it from my start menu it says something like "Cannot move the file". Any idea how I can remove that shortcut and add the correct one?
Thanks!
Click the link and reinstall from that location. It will remove the link and allow it to open your Sprint TV without a problem.

MarketPlace and New Vodafone 1.66 ROM

Hi Guys, I'm wondering if anyone can help me. I've just upgraded my HD2 with the new 1.66 ROM released by Vodafone. I'm now re-installing everything I have bought from Windows MarketPlace. However, when I got to the MyApps area and click install, it starts to install really well until it gets to about 80% then just seems to stick there. I have left it for about 30mins and it still doesn't complete. It does seem to have installed but some of the apps don't run properly (File Explorer Pro wont run any CAB file)
Has anyone else had similar experiences or know of any solution
Many thanks for any help
Perhaps you should try installing one app at a time. I've had problems with Marketplace when I've tried to reinstall one or two apps in the past and it may be that it's getting stuck on one particular app.
cheers jakam, that was I was doing my friend....but it seems that it maybe a problem with the File Manager pro and Regedit. Everything else installs OK. Guess I'll have to try and sort it out
Cheers dude
No worries - glad you got it sorted.
If it helps, the app I was having trouble with eventually installed. I just had to keep trying every now and then until it worked

I did an hard reset and the same happens...
When i want to install the programs with zune, zune say, that it is installed, but i can't find the program on my phone...
I have vodafone in germany...
Just downloaded and istalled the IMDb app. Downloaded and installed fine, but won't run. Loads up for about 4-5 seconds and then phone goes back to WP7 menu screen. Any ideas???
If you have JUST activated and it is saying this
have you applied the registry key to identify the device as a HD 7 ?(unless you have a ROM with this as standard)
There is coming the following message:
Access to the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg is restricted.
What could I do?
For you guys having problems with Marketplace, just be sure you made de HD7 tweak (in Settings-About your device must appear as HTC HD7, not Leo70). After you enter the 25 digit code in Marketplace, get the Live ID.xap file (available on the forum) and edit the CustClear.provxml file in it with your code. Then deploy the LiveID.xap to device.
I'm not having any Problems with Marketplace apps.

[Q] Touchxperience doesn't launch?

Hi,
I've just flashed Xbmod's nodo rom. A beautiful rom! But there's one problem, I installed the included Windows Phone Device Manager, and it seems to connect fine to my hd2. It says that it's detected, then it says that it's installing Touchxperience. After that I get an error message stating that it can't launch touchxperience. It does show up in the installed programs list, but when I launch it, it shows a black screen for 3-5 seconds, then it goes back the the list again. I searched the net about this problem, and I saw other people have it too, but I don't see any solution.
Thanks
(I also have installed al the requirements for wpdm)
Ran into the same problem this morning. Havent looked into it very much. Was trying to load my US navigon maps.
It worked perfectly fine with an older 7004 build I had on my phone.
Possibly not compatible with NODO. Definately installs the xap though. Dont the apps have to update for the NODO build. Not sure. Havent had much time recently to mess around with phones as much. So my knowledge is sort of limited on newer issues.
Hopefully it gets figured out. Just noticed that someone got the US navigon maps working and thats the one app I really missed having on WM. Not that I use it all the time but nav comes in handy when it needed.
I'm using ROM XBmod 1.11 and got same problem.
I tried to install touchXperience manually with .xap file and then launch it on my phone, still cannot start.
Someone said that maybe some hacks on the ROM cause this problem. I checked "dehydrate" hack and saw the registry key is default (DehydrateOnPause = 3).
Any other suggestion?

Take mobile off usb, power down and power back up again. now try touch Xperience.
Is it now showing? If so to marry with WPDM. put usb in, now if Zune starts, close it down. Start up WPDM. wait till it connects with the TouchX.
Is it now working? I am using Xmob 1.11 rom, and have no problems. But make sure that the ROM is cool, and not hot.
FPM.

If you are using Advanced Config 1.2.1.1 (From Julian Schapps) Then slide it over to Tweeks.
There should be a tick on the Dont dehydrate apps on pause. Leave the tick on.
That should fix it.
