Hey does anyone have the proxy working on their My Touch? For the life of me I can't get it working on the My Touch but it works on other phones.
Here is what I am using
Menu->Settings->Wireless Controls->Mobile Networks->Access Point Names->T-Mobile US
I input the following settings:
Name: T-Mobile US
APN: wap.voicestream.com
proxy: 216.155.165.050
port: 8080
Username: Not set
Password: Not set

T-Mobile is starting to use your IMEI to determine to "correct" internet package for users. Not sure, but it might be the problem. You can check your account to see if maybe they removed the feature.
t-zone hack wont work on mytouch t-mobile will know what phone you are on with in a few hours and will send you to the web to go not aloud on this phone page i had to change plans to the $24 plan but i made sure i could go back to t-zone $5.99 plan good thing because i am sell my mytouch and wait for the new high power android phones coming out in the next few month
yup Android phones only work with Android data packages.
That's interesting. I'm doing this with AT&T. I wonder if my Roger's IMEI will register on Tmobile...
I think they can pull up any HTC IMEIs, but it's just a guess.
yeah,
i got unlocked htc my touch and it was working with my t-zones for less than a day and then i got message that i have to get $25 plan. Also, I did hard reset and i could not pass start screen with t-zones. I purchased $25 internet for my wife, used her sim card to sign-in and after that my t-zones were not working already. =((((
Is t-zones working with HTC Hero?
Hope I would be able to use android with this cheap mobile internet...
I'm trying to find an android phone that can work with web2go since paying $25 for edge is ridiculous, I've been searching for hours now and no luck, will an European version or any non-t mobile android phone work with the web2go? has any one actually tested it recently?

well ive been a user of the 5.99 t-zones deal for a while. I used to use it with my tilt with no problem as well as other phones. But i seem to be running into a brick wall with the g1. No matter what i put in as the apn settings it sends me to the "you must upgrade to the g1 plan."
One of the weird things is that anytime i do this:
Name: T-Mobile US
APN: wap.voicestream.com
proxy: 216.155.165.050
port: 8080
Username: Not set

and change the apn to http or https it autotomticly cuts off my data. No matter if its 3g or edge. the icon just goes away. is anyone else having this problem?
sorry to reply without any help or solution, i just wanted to ask if you could add the country that you're referring to when you mention T-Mobile in the thread title.
(T-Mobile US / UK / GER / WHEREEVER)
it just helps people quickly see if the thread is any use to them or not, or if they can help.
thanks, sorry i couldn't help though.

i don't have a g-1 but try APN: epc.tmobile.com with no proxy or port. i also have the t-zones plan and use this on my diamond so i don't have to use a proxy server.
for my mms proxy i have always use 216.155.165.50 not .050.
and the MMSC: http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms.

Nope. Same reason a G1 won't work on AT&T 3G. Doesn't work. It sucks, get over it, move on.
It's offtopic now, but 3g does get working on an unlocked iPhone. I know at least it does with Tmobile. The Gevey sim works flawlessly.

I don't see how that would work- at least not on 3G speeds, AT&T and T-Mobile use different 3G bands.
However, I haven't been in the loop lately, maybe it is possible
i phone well not work with T mobile 3g it is the same as G1 well not work
with ATT 3g

Before you jump to conclusions my kind sir. I wasnt asking because I wanted to do so. I was asking because she said she got it to work. So you get over yourself and move on.
I was curious because I was under the impression that it DIDINT work. However, now you have people here verifying they got it to work.
Anyway, my question was answered.

Really? Where? I see a bunch of he-said she-said but no actual verification.
Edit: I'm also curious about The Jimi Hendrix quote you got wrong in your signature. On purpose?
Ok first off the iphone 3G will work on T-mobile but not at 3G speeds. You will be able to get on the internet but it will only be over EDGE. T-mobile uses 1700mhz and 2100mhz and At&t uses 850mhz for their 3G. The iphone runs off 850mhz for its 3G but also uses 1900mhz for EDGE. Thats why it works on T-mobile.
Back to what OP was asking. You can no longer use t-zones with your G1. T-mobile has blocked that. Thats why you got a message saying you need to upgrade your service. As of right now there is no way around it.
Sup guys, I have a unlocked HTC HD2 with AT&T carrier and everything works great but i cannot go online and i have a data plan, also my network would get disconnected. I figured i need to setup the AT&T APN settings in order for it to work fine. It'll be much appreciated if anybody can just help me. Thanks
i've got the same issue. Let me know if you've figured it out.

The new HTC stuff blows the old stuff out of the water as far as speed and useability is concerned....try running a good build of Android(like Redtopia) on an HD2...runs circles around the captivate I tell yah that.
im running an hd2 with bluetopia and having the same issue. before i changed to the new rom update from CMYLXGO http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=915159 everything was working fine with the old one. what changed with this new update??? anyone help me out here? thanks. i dont have internet (unless connected via wifi) and no MMS messaging.
anybody??? i love CMYLXGO roms, but cant figure out why i cannot connect to medianet now. worked fine with the previous roms from him. dont understand...

Irony me googling took me here
I have an htc hd2 that has energy on rom. and Android 2.2 froyostone on SD card.
When I launch Android from the SD card it runs smooth and I can make phone calls and send txts but I can only access the Internet using WIFI
When i turn off Wifi I get a "network error" Tmobile has 3 data plans
Smartphones
Androd
Black Berry
I have of course the Smartphone data plan. and it works fine when I use the phone in Windows mobile mode but when I launch Android I can not connect
1.-DO I have to have an Android plan to use the andrroid? Is there a way to work this around
2.- Is there an app that will allow me to use The Smartphones Data plan with the android
3.- Is there a way I can use the android plan on WM6.5 if I switch to it?
I have the same problem and I can't download or send MMS.

Turn wifi off to send/recieve mms.
I am having the same problem and settings are correct. Just says "ERROR". Any suggestions?
Just wanted to point out that these are the correct APN settings that allow access to EDGE, 3G, and HSPA networks.
The information was originally provided by a T-Mobile tech on another website.
Others that are listed in the forums allow 3G and HSPA, but not EDGE.
Tmo is full of it, check your apn
I rarely post or reply but this is a subject that I've been dealing with for a while. I'm a former suncom customer with a grandfathered plan and every time I try to go for an upgrade or call with a issue the first response I get is it's my plan. Dont let Tmo sucker you into a more expensive plan. I used to unlock and flash cell phones for a living. Now I do it for myself and close friends/ family. I've had a at least one of each of the following on my plan and working perfectly... blackberry storm 1, tour, curve unlocked and bold. I've also had the mytouch 3g, g1, nuron, lg secret, and I currently use a HD2 dual booting winmo and android. I change almost daily and the only time I'm not able to receive internet or text is when my apn settings aren't correct. I bought my first HD2 outright and when I was availible for upgrade they tried to tell me it wouldn't work on my plan (unlimited net and tether for blackberry) after I told the rep to check my account and they saw I had been using one for three months I left the rep, the reps supervisor, and a tech speechless and they gave me my HD2 free of charge for the trouble. This was when they were $150.

I added a new APN called "My APN" and selected that instead on the default TMO APN. Other then not having 3G coverage in my area, my data connection works fine. There is a conflict occassionally if you have the WiFi up and running and try sending/recieving texts w/pic or large files. Simply turn off the WiFi. Hope this helps.
I've tried SEVERAL different APN settings for T-Mobile US and none have worked...
Until I came across yours. Everything is working great now. The only problem I had before was MMS, they work great.
Thank you so much for the info
I would like to ad as well that T-Mobile WILL NOT give you the APN settings. I fought tooth and nail yesterday with a rep but he refused to tell me what the settings where suppose to be.

SIM CARD
I original purchased a sim card from their website for my skyrocket. As you may know the S3 uses a mini sim card. Luckily for me I had my old sim card from At&t that i used as a stencil to cut my ST sim card to the exact size and shape as the AT&T sim card and it worked perfectly. Otherwise you will have to purchase another from ST.
So far everything works perfect. MMS, SMS, Voice, email, etc.. I am averaging about 6.5 Mbps down and 2.0 Up. I have heard stories about ST capping after 2gb of data but I haven't used that much data and mainly use it on wifi. For 45 bucks a month for unlimited everything you really cant beat that.
Hope this helps any of you trying to decide to switch to ST using the S3. Let me know if you have any questions.

I wouldn't be saving much by switching from ATT. I'd go from my 2011 average of $69.81/mo (all fees included), to $45/mo (fees and misc stuff not included).
And "unlimited"* won't last.

You would save almost 200 dollars a year. 45.77 is what I pay each month. No contract, pay as you go.
I personally think unlimited will stay. All major cell phones companys are getting cheaper and competing so I honestly see more carriers going with unlimited data soon. Plus if they do remove unlimited data I'm not in a contract and will go with a carrier that does.
I'm not trying to get anyone to switch only you know if this option makes since for your budget. I'm just providing the settins to get up and running for those who decide to make the switch.

I have had my Nexus 4 about a week and a half now. I am trying to decide what service to go with, and I have tired a T-Mobile prepaid sim and am currently attempting to use Net10 Sim with an ATT micro-sim purchased from Best Buy.
I have been having so many data issues with Net10, I would say it is not even usable. My APN settings are below, but doing some internet searches, it seems like there are Data connectivity issues with Net10? I was just going to see if anybody else has experienced this and if they found a way to tweek the APN settings to make this work. Net10 support reps have yet to offer any solution. I go for periods without any data at all while my signal is blue with an H (I am typically on HSPA+ 15 or 10). I cannot use many of my apps that require data and I have to refresh websites multiple times to get it to load.
Do the same issues exist on Straight Talk with the ATT Micro-Sim? I did not have any issues like this with the T-Mobile prepaid sim so I do not believe it is a radio issue. I am trying to find out about ATT through either straight-talk or Net10 since T-Mobile does not have a signal in my wife's school. Thanks!

I've updated this setting. Data is very slow and I am still unable to use some apps that work fine on WiFi such as SatelliteGuys (works after I try several times), XDA (haven't used successfully) & SpeedTest (doesn't work says network communication issues) & DishRemote App (can't login even). Google music seems to work and I can send texts, will try an mms soon. I'm really thinking this is an issue with Net10. I've barely used any data so I don't think I am throttled. Really bad service thus far.
Assuming Straight Talk has the same issues with the ATT service? BTW, I am in the Kansas City metro area, full strength.
i used to have net10 and on some days the internet wouldn't work
Any data interruption, I would say it's AT&T service in your area. NET10 is the same as Straight Talk, once you set your APN and data works, it just works. You may want to check by borrowing a friend's SIM Tmo, AT&T or any compatible network, set the right APN, test, troubleshoot and compare. Another issue could be your radio.
If you input the first proxy, some apps/things won't work and may be blocked from access i.e. speedtest
