[OZONE] The Official 6.1 vs 3VO 6.5 Poll! - Dash 3G, Snap General

Hey folks, id realy like to make this, just to help out some more people trying to decide if they want to make the jump to the cooked 6.5 update for the VZW OZONE.
so to do this, i decided to make a poll

ookba's is so much faster. only issue i have with it is that my favorite browser (skyfire) has an issue with the fn+_ keys. As soon as that gets fixed in the 2.0 release, i would recommend it hands down over 6.1

Rom Help

Ok everyone, I have never posted before but I have been around for a little while (still consider myself noobish though)
I have been doing tons of research since the official rom upgrade has come out. I have to admit though I am more confused then ever.
Here is my problem, my wife and I both have the titan. About a mouth ago I upgraded both of ours to the dcd 2.1.0 (12/05/07) to unlock the gps and get rid of the sprint crap. I have to admit I fell in love with this version. Last night I installed the official htc 3.35.651.2 rom on my phone...I am NOT in love with it. Last night and all day today I have been searching for a replacement. Here is the source of my problem. There is so much development and creativity that people put into these phones (and the titan in particular) but is there no central place to compare and rate different roms? I was hoping to find a page that listed the top roms and the differences between them (and the official ones) but that does not seem to exist. There are several roms out there that look promising but sort of spending the rest of the day loading and testing them all I am at a loss.
If anyone knows of a great site or page that does what I have been looking for please let me know. If anyone has a suggestion to which rom I should go with I welcome your input. To that end, below are a few of the things I loved about the dcd version.
1) no extra sprint crap programs
2) working task manager (I just dont like the one on the official rom)
3) text messaging in a chat window set up. Unlike the email like set up in the official versions (I dont know if that makes sense)
4)Full Comm Manager (included more options)
Last item I would like to bring up, much has been made of EV-DO Rev.A. Do any of the custom roms incorporate this? It in its self is not a deal breaker for me, after testing load times on my phone vs my wife’s...Im not impressed but I would like it if possible.
Thanks everyone in advance. I have never posed before because I could always just find the answer if I looked long enough but in this case there is just way to much stuff out there...the curse and blessing of owning a titan
Thanks again

So far the only rom's for the Titan I know of is DCDs, Keys and NexsHybrid. Rev.A is not incorporated into the roms itself, but the radio. as long as you have the radio 3.35 you are fine. since you are a fan of dcd, i would suggest you try his new 3.0.1 rom. since you already upgraded with the official sprint rom, you have the new 3.35 radio (assuming) and all you need to do is flash a new rom on top of that.

Which WM 6.0 and 6.1 to choose ?

Hi guys, I'm contemplating to upgrade my tytn to either WM 6.0 or 6.1. Due to quite a few choices available, which version of WM 6.0 and 6.1 should I choose ? Your opinion is very much appreciated. Thank you.
Regards,
William
So many people ask this... Its really a personal choice, you REALLY need to read the description of whats in the rom and the last few pages of comments from people who have flashed the rom.
What is good for me may not be for you.
So saying I use the new 21109 build 21109 ROM by TAI_sw, with a bit of surgery for the 1st and 2nd flash screens and a special blend of apps. It seems to be stable and quick, but its early days yet...
Cheers...
Yeah, go and confuse the poor guy...
Personally, I have two favorites right now:
1) Schnap's Windows Mobile 6 Pro - It has great visual appeal, excellent visual coherence, and it's fast. Unfortunately, the biggest problem with it is that it's outdated.
2) PDACornerPro V27 - Great visuals and very fast. Visually, I prefer Schnap's over the PDACornerPro, but PDACornerPro is updated. Most important of all, at least from my opinion,is that it has a perfectly working 'HTC Youtube' app.
Currently, I am using the second one, and I am very happy with it.
best rom threads
sorry guys these kind off threads are not allowed
they always end up in a flame war......thread closed

Buying Blackstone?

Hello everyone
First of all, awesome forum and lots of respect to u all!
I just have a small but important question, Im in the market for a HTC Blackstone and is the anything in particular I should think of before buying it? Like ROM version etc?
I've had mine a few months now and delighted with it. The standard ROM was OK, but it was transformed when I start trying new ROMS's.
Have tried a fair few and currently using Dutty's 6.5 Leo R4 ROM. It's fantastic. Stable, fast and has everthing I need on it.
Way better than those feckin' Apple phones which I briefly looked at!!

Are there any 6.5.3 ROMs for the Mogul

Is anyone working on custom roms for the Mogul based on WM 6.5.3? I like the looks of the new interface. I'm currently using one of RyanMogul's 6.5 ROMs and it's great, but I'd like to try out a 6.5.3 ROM.
Can someone point me in the right direction?
Andy
Why Yes there are
Well I can't give you a direct link but if you will head over to ppcgeeks forum and check out the titan rom upgrades, you should find what you are looking for.
I must warn you 64MB of RAM isn't really enough for anything more than 6.1. However, if you run the high-memory kernel, you can get decent performance from it. I really liked the rom but eventually switched back to 6.1 for better performance. Very stable rom for something that is beta and isn't ever going to be officially supported.
I just tried the 6.5.3 ROM over there and it's not that great
some cool little tweeks to the operating system but everything else is the same but slower. Going back to 6.5 for awhile
I am running a 6.5.3 ROM (Build 28002.5.3.0) from PPCGeeks that is for the 6800 and I think it runs better than the 6.1 or the RyanMogul 6.5 Heavy/Light I was using prior. With the Camera disabled I get around 27mb of RAM and its pretty snappy, almost no lag unless I have too many programs running. Don't think I am looking back! GPS locks in less than 10 seconds and I didn't have to do any edits but then again I am not sure if that stuck from prior to the flash to 6.5.3. PM me and I can give you a link to the ROM download I am using.
can you post a link?
Last week with my Mogul. Want to have some fun.

Lets press the Company HTC! For old devices upgrade.

Do someone know when HTC will give out a new htc hd (blackstone) rom? maybe with colour Manila TAB. or something like that.
Because the stock rom is the fastest and most stabile ROM, I think! BUT not a pretty ROM, like the Manila 2.5 and W6.5**. It just need a OVERHAUL!
I think we can have W6.1 with... Manila 2.4 maybe hehe. not as fancy but cooler then Manila 2.1
LET's press the HTC, because they think everyone ****t money to buy a new device every month or week!
im happy with my HTC HD, but i think HTC has forget about us old-device-user! and they come out with upgrade to other "new" devices, but i want somthing to, somthing cool. and if xda and our worlds best developers can, then the htc company with the tecnologi can do it to! wtf i think, crapy done by htc! i have sent 1000 of mails too them and they keep say " dont know" then why do u work at support for god f###.. or? feks. the stock HD ROM have the ugly keybord, i want the new one on a stock rom.. so!
Sorry for my english =P but u guys understand what i meen!
Good Luck with that - Whilst I share your frustration that those who keep faith with Stock ROMs aren't rewarded with updates, the fact is that with the sheer amount of devices that HTC currently release year on year, the odds that some of it's back catalogue will get any such update are quite small.
I eventually gave in and flashed an XDA/Cooked ROM.

Me too ....... I really would appreciate some stock rom, that would have qualities of Duttys rom with Co0kie Home Tab and CHTEditor versatility.

I have flashed xda cooked ROM, but our chiefs have stoped building ROMS with WM6.1, and manilla 2.1. And I prefer the speed and the stability of the WM6.1 and manilla 2.1.
Answer is no, and that is just the nature of business
There are too many new devices out there that they are focusing on (and still have issues), just to name a few, HD2, Nexus One, Desire...
Actually I don't mind them doing so, but at least make it easier for outsiders to access info on older chipsets (MSM), which to me is the main hurdle to maximize performance on the phones.

ok, ur right now as i thinking, but.. WHY! do everyone want WM6.5? is stil laggy after some use, at the begining its WOW cool and fast, stable, but after 2-3 weeks its starts to be slow. so, why not make the 6.1 even better and faster + new design ( manila 2.5) tabs? the rest dont have to be as "cool" as htc hd2 (leo) i allways use the kwbr topix rom, but im dont going from his rom topix 3.5 wwe =D anyway, his new rom topix 3.6 or somthing, is it wm 6.1 or 6.5? heh

u know why? because it takes effort to do software development, you need more people to support two platforms than one. It would have been nice if htc just upgrade/tweak manila 2.1 to 2.5. but from general use, you know that's not the case, as they behave differently (functionality is the same).
So why is this decision made? Could be many reasons, maybe feature, flexibility wise, 2.1 is just not good enough for the future, who knows?
For sure htc is not going to work on 2.1 & 2.5 to acheive the same goal, even though its for different phones, sadly in this industry the upgrade cycle is 6 months to 1 year (just like computers). I am not try to bash on the company, but take a guess which htc phone is at top quality in user experience (hardware & software) at release, and have good upgrades/support after 2 years. When you hang around xda long enough, you will know
ok, i understand now! HTC HD is dead. the company is thinkig about new phones. but if ill buy HTC Desire HD, do i have to keep installing coocked rom's frome here? The HTC Desire is not getting the "new" htc sense, ( htcsense.com) why? its so lalala stupid, look at the xp,vista and win 7. only new design, but u still have internett explorer and other stuff, i dont care about the design, only about nice updats.
thats why i dont like htc loonger, the forget about our phone after 5 months.
Pff, it's useless asking for updates for old HTC devices. They launch a dozen of phones every year. Their goal is to sell the new devices and earn money, not update the old ones for free. I use HTC Touch HD and i haven't seen any official updates on their site, except for some bug fixes and an official ROM which does nothing more than my preinstalled ROM. Haven't checked the updates for other HTC devices, but it's obviously they didn't give a damn about HTC Touch HD immediately after its release.
