How can i play avi and divx on HD? plz some help?
As far as I know you will need good player. I will wait for CorePlayer 2.0
try this
http://www.4shared.com/file/51243023/beaf1cb8/TCPMP-072RC1-ARM-PPC-recomp-03CAB.html
This worked with my blackstone
I also used CorePlayer from CoreCodec... very good player, but you need to pay a small amount of money to be able to use it legally.
Plays probably anything you care to throw at it, most notably normal divX files, like ~800mb .avi aXXo rips and such.
I used the DIVX player for mobiles downloaded from DIVX.COM for free! Seems to play any Divx and Xvid .AVIs I've tried so far without problems! Give it a try!
http://labs.divx.com/MobileDownload
and since I posted that message, more digging around has pointed me to an updated version of TCPMP that works on WM6.1.
You'll find a link to that thread below...

Hope this helps!

does divx player mobile play flawless standard divx (for example 700mb divx) or did you convert to phone format?
I've read that the Core Player sometime has a choppy playback. Anyone here experience that?
And I'm also curious about jackthekayman's question as to how flawless the Divx player mobile plays videos.

Yes they are. Somehow they have the same source but core is faster while TCPMP supports more formats as like AC3.

CorePlayer is the only player worth using.. I bought it for my Nokia and have now transferred my license to WM6.1 (for free )
No conversion of formats is needed. Even Full movies etc.. Best framerate.
When coreplayer reaches 3.x in the near future it will also have hardware support for HTC phones.
Great program, great developers.
FYI... I haven't used TCPMP yet, but it is possible to convert an AVI file to MP4 which can be played with the HD's built in player. The easiest way to convert is is by using VLC to do it, here's a quick tutorial: http://appleclinic.wordpress.com/2008/04/20/convert-wmv-to-mp4/

I'm sorry, but I couldn't help myself. The term you are referring to is called 'stReaming', and not 'steaming', which brings a whole new meaning to the phrase...
lol no wonder it looked awkward, reminds me of the iSteamy app on jailbreak iPhones!

Hi, I am using diamond too, you're using coreplayer to play h.264 streaming video? I used coreplayer to play that, but after I pressed the "play", the mobile will freeze on the screen.

I have. Plays AVI very well.
Try Mplayer. If it will be as good as the pc one it will rock. SO far it's a bit rough but will work where others fail.
Watch out what settings you tick, not all processing methods are supported by tegra.
I used MoboPlayer and when plays DivX video, the movie plays but the screen getting so dark. I almost couldn't see the movie.
MP4s or MPGs plays normally.
Any help?
Try RockPlayer, seems the best so far.
You don't answer his question.... he asked for a player that plays vob files in a folder. Not the best media player.

I have the same problem. mobo goes dark whenever I start a video..however the trick is the control screen for moboplayer that displays once after you install it and the correct codec.
Brightness control is done by using your finger to slide up/down on the left side of the screen ( landscape mode ).
volume is on the screen right side ( up /down) and forward back in the video is at the top ( left right)
After I reinstalled it and actually read what the control screen says instead of just clicking on pass I find it to be satisfactory to just bring the brightness back up.
I have only had my A500 for 2 days so I'm new. Hope this helps.

Neither did you, so stop being useless.
PS. I did mention mPlayer a few posts back, if that doesn't do it...
I favor Buzz however I haven't tried much else...
I'm new to android. Is it impossible to install movie codecs on android tablets so that we can play all movie formats.Like .ts .mkv etc.
I hope you don't torture yourself with updates on your pc when there's VLC and SMplayer.
No, one size should fit all, look for mplayer or rockplayer.
Thanks.I downloaded moboplayer and it seems for me better than other players i tried.

[Q] Media files: is it really possible!?

Ok so first please dont writte comments like it is a cheap phone and stuff...
Now the problem - playback of video files (avi, xvid and most important straming media)
So i have tryied some video players to play avi files and the video i so slow plays with very very slow frame rate and audio is horrible. Recently tryied to play straming media (some tv chanels i want to watch) the same. It runs the software but its horrible.
So the question: Is there some way around that? Some magic light-weight player or something else?
HTC Wildfire
Cyanomogen latest stable
tryied with overclocked CPU to 701 when i tryied to the max setting 768 phone crashed needed to recovery ROM.
So please if someone has some advice i would be very grateful

Buy a better phone!!
Sorry couldn't resist but seriously you get what you pay for!
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using xda premium
Try overclocking to 729mhz. That seems the most stable for me.
More importantly download an app called QQ player from the market. Plays most files without a hitch.
If you're streaming tv well personally I have not tried. Move your phone as close to the router as possible and see whether its a speed related issue. If It's not I don't think there's much you can do.
Hope this helps
