Ita Rom GPS enabled and 3G UMTS lacking

I've done the upgrade and all goes well but now my P3600 doesn't find anymore the 3G Umts net of TIM Italy. Edge band is at full signal but it can't find TIM even forcing in the settings in Umts.
Anyone is experiencing this problem or a weaker UMTS reception after the Rom upgrade?.

I have Wind ITA but even with the original ROM or with the new upgrade 3G is not working since a few weeks...
It gets disconnected, or even connected drops calls, you cannot even make a call...
I don't think this is related to phone firmware as I've tried my sim card inside another phone and it was not working again in the 3G mode..
It's a very strange issue, seems not related to firmwares...but seems a general problem (at least for me)
I'm very happy with Edge mode!

My P3600 with a 3 sim has no problems but with the tim one yes.
My Tim sim in a Nokia 6630 phone works flawlessly in Umts.
I'm also happy with edge mode but a few weeks ago I had also Umts working.

TIM SIM - phone does not work with GPRS

weird - I have a P3600 from The Netherland which I brought to Italy. The phone worked fine with a Vodafone SIM. Recently I changed to TIM. As long as I have a good network signal Edge and 3G work as they should. However, whenever the signal gets poor and the phone switches to GPRS, I do not have any data nor phone connection (although the phone shows a strong GSM signal). As soon as the phone goes on EDGE the phone works again.
I already tried several Radio Roms. It looks like V. 1.56.70.11 is slightly improving the situation but in most cases I still cannot make calls and cannot be called.
Is this a SIM problem? Is there anybody in Italy who could tell me which ROM Versions TIM is using in their branded P3600?

ROM version: 1.23.405.2
ExtROM: 1.23.405.103
Protocol: 32.83.7020.20H
Radio: 1.56.70.11

...likely it is only related to the poor TIM network coverage at my home. Strange is that my wife (she is using the same SIM from TIM) can make phone calls with her Nokia. It seems that the Trinity with the new radio rom is very sensitive to receive network signals but apparently the transmitting power is too low to connect (Trinity cares for your health http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif) ....is there a way to boost the transmitting power or is it only controlled by the radio rom?

cannot seem to register on the gsm network.
fido gsm is 850-1900.
I know g3 wont work but gsm should and is not.

try changing the radio, check the wiki, might end up being a bit of trial & error. You could also try going back to a stock rom first.

I was able to register onto the network when hard reseting with the sim in the phone...
took a long time to get a signal...
signal was there, gprs icon was on... but wsn't able to receive calls or make calls.
When calling my cell, i got the answering system.
how to be sure it is not locked?

flashed with RUU_BlackStone_HKCSL_WWE_1[1].19.831.0_Radio_52.49a.25.26_1.09.25.14_Ship.exe. Still same radio as before.
now registers fast in network
gets signal and Edge icons but cannot make or receive calls - no line...
could it be it is not unlocked?

changed the sim card to a newer one made after 3G introduction and it now works.

But only works when the network icon is G. It doesn't when icon is E.
Here in Canada the phone's 3G capabilities are not used.
When i am somewhere where the network icon is E, i got a signal icon but no line. I cannot make or receive calls
Anyone has seen this.
Phone band and network are in Automatic... if i try to asiggn a band and network manually...same problem.

it honestly sounds to me like something is damaged with the phone, i think you should see if there is an HTC partner in Canada, and check to see if maybe the device is under warranty and can be repaired.

Im in Canada with rogers and have no problem making or receiving calls with my hd. 3G dont seem to work though

mine has also a SN beginning with HT845 as many faulty devices have.
My problems is i have olinex 1.14 on it

I have a Touch HD too and works fine with Fido here in Canada.
I used the factory rom for about a week then used the custom rom.
have tried several roms and they all worked on my HD with the fido network.
the only thing is i have the roaming icon on all the time, but luckily i dont get charged roaming once i'm in my local area.
Dont know why you are having problems with yours, but like someone said i'm also guessing there may be something wroong with your handset.
try taking it to a repair shop (HTC authorized at least) and see what they also say.

HTC Touch HD with Fido
I have also bought touch HD and having same issue, I can dial and recieve calls while I am outside but when I am any where inside I can not recieve or call any one from HD, I think touch hd that I have has 900 frequency that is why I am having issue, Fido and Rogers works good on 850 frequency. Does any one know how can I solve this problem

As I said before I have touch HD with rogers network. I have no problem recieving or making calls even indoors. I bought mine at pacific mall a year ago

Only HTC Touch HD T8285 will work on Fido/Rogers/Bell/Telus 3G network.
I think you have T8282 and this is the reason that you cannot get 3G or H icon on the top bar.
I have T8285 and it works fine on Fido 3G network It show 3G and H on the top bar.
no matter you do (like flashing radio or rom) it will not chnage the UMTS signal. It is hardware related.

Can't get 2G Signal, while I can receive 3G or LTE

I have an Axon 7 A2017, the Chinese one, I unlocked the bl, rooted and flashed B29 rom with the a2017 bootstack, so everything is working. BUT... I can't seem to get GSM reception, I can call and receive calls if I have good 3G reception, but once I step out of the city, my phone become an iPod touch... I'll link photos of my phone on Network guru I you guys can be of any help. I forced the phone into specific bands in order to test LTE, HPSA UMTS and GSM separately, you can see that the phone gets the signal of the GSM tower on both 900 and 1800 bands, but doesn't " translate " it into an actual GSM working signal, that is just my supposition I don't know what's really going in there. Hope you guys can find out what the problem is. @DrakenFX @tenfar
P.S : When I first bought the phone it had the Chinese B10 version, and the 2g was working, weak signal due to prior updates but I could read it. The main purpose of me flashing into US rom was because of an update which enhanced the signal on A2017U.
