Can WinMo be flashed onto the Dream (G1)

I was given a TMobile G1. I really like the hardware of the phone; however, I detest the Andriod OS. (I know everyone LOVES it, but I'm not among that crowd) My Main phone is a Kaiser. (Which I have a long running Love / Hate Relationship with) I need Windows Mobile, but I love the G1's hardware layout.
Is there a ROM out there (or is someone developing one) that will let me flash Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro onto the G1 instead of this awful cartoonish OS?

Android is the future anyway, if you don't like it as-is just stick with the Kaiser. Winmo won't support the capacitive screen anyway.

Neoobs, I've been a member of this forum for as long as you. I just don't go around flaming people for posting a simple question. And since I was doing so FROM my Kaiser while on a SLOW GPRS Connection, searching the site wasn't really an option.
It was a valid question. Yes, I have since searched and found the other posts.
So in short, BACK OFF! It's people like you that make this place less and less friendly every day.

If you have been watching these forums your first post is identical to many others that were started by trollers. I don't get your logic and the reasoning behind it. You feel special because your browsing these forums on a phone on a slow dial up speed connection? So that means you can post and ask for help instead of search?
Maybe if you had posted around a couple times you wouldn't be seen as a troller. It is people like you that make developers want to stop helping those who indeed know how to search and use the search function.
In short, don't put yourself on that pedestal just because your too lazy to do the actual work.

Please direct all WinMo question/concerns at this thread.

Just a thought

What is it with some of the owners, and developers of the MT3G? Seems in every active thread that we have people bickering, and nit picking each other. I don't know if this is going on in the other forums, but really is it called for? This phone already has a lack of development. The damn G1 gets more attention fro developers than our phone and that is about a 3 year year old phone.
I appreciate all the developers that work on our phones trying to keep those of us without the funds to buy a new phone busy with new ROMS, Themes, Ports and whatever else.

I agree, and patience is a virtue... which nobody has evidently.
I appreciate everything that the devs and other members do here, I'm not smart enough (Yet) to do my own deving so I'll be happy with whatever anyone puts out with no *****ing or complaning.

What ever happened to respect?
When the G1 dropped I was one of the first couple thousand owners shipped, I was rooted the day I found this site, and flashed a new ROM every freaking day it seemed. There was a fury of activity over there, and even there was a little bit of this going on. But then it was more so noobs not reading and asking questions and bugging the developers. We lost a couple great developers from those beginning days, but also spawned new talent.
We all have a common goal here. To push our phones beyond anything the manufacture thought possible (look at what the G1 is doing) But it seems all we are doing is trying to knock each other down.
I wish I had the time to rehash some of the programming skills I have lost over the last couple of years due to the closing of my computer and the opening of a HVAC company. Sense that is not an option I rely on the developers here.
I would love to see this phone brought back to life.

Just to add to this, if you ever see a post you are not happy with, or is what you believe to be nit-picking, flaming, trolling, abusive, rude etc... Use the report a post button and it will be flagged for me or a senior moderator to deal with.

Devs looking for Glory - What's the story?

Am I the only one getting frustrated with some of he egos/personalities going on in this community? I remember when I was an XDA lurker, and the community was great. Everyone shared information for the greater good. It wasn't a site for people to just come and post requests, or ask silly questions without searching first. If I knew something, I contributed. Everyone was like that. Now it's almost as though people are looking for self glory instead of the community continuing to grow. It's very saddening to see. I just wish people would continue to share, and help everyone to be built up, rather than stand on a high podium and want to be praised.
Now I'm all for praising devs that help out, or anyone that helps out really. My problem is when people harvest information that could potentially be very beneficial to the community, simply because they want a name for themselves. Grow up. 15 minutes of fame online is really that critical in your life? Those who have been following the dev section should know what I'm talking about. I honestly love this phone, but the community nature of XDA is really lacking lately, especially here in the Desire HD/Inspire 4g fora. I'm praying it turns around soon, as a lot of the good devs may turn their backs for good on not just our section, but XDA as a whole.

I can relate to that! something has gone horribly wrong in here! I love trying new rom From Honeysense to RCMIX to CM7 stuff with all the great minds in here you would hope that something truly great would come out of the whole Android 4 situation i know lots of the guys are waiting for the official source to be released and i respect that but all this recent jiggery pokery has just got a bit silly. It's all a bit "IT'S MY BALL AND I'M TAKING IT HOME WITH ME" for my liking stop spitting your dummies out and let's concentrate on being a community again!

I will be keeping a watchful eye on things, so rest assured that "we" have noticed it.

At the virtual UDS in November we talked about having events where local communities could learn more about app development for Ubuntu for the first time. Since then we have come a long way:
We have some really nice materials set up.
The first events were held in a number of places around the world.
We got feedback and improved our docs.
Before the Ubuntu Global Jam and the release parties for 14.04 LTS we will have two Q&A sessions where you can ask all organisational and technical questions you might have.
You don’t have to do everything yourself!
When we started the initiative, we first talked to members of the Ubuntu community who knew a bit of app development already. Many of them liked the idea, but didn’t quite know how to set up an event or how to organise everything. We tried to address this by bringing them in touch with some of the LoCo teams which helped in a bunch of cases where events have already happened or are going to happen quite soon. We want more of this to happen.
It’s only understandable that you can’t do everything yourself, or that one person’s skills lie in a more organisational field and somebody else has some more experience with app development. Bringing the two together, we are going to have more interesting events, more people introduced to writing apps for Ubuntu, which will be great for everyone involved.
Getting started
Sounds good so far? Here’s what you can do to get more folks exposed to how sweet and easy it is to write apps for Ubuntu.
As somebody who can organise events, but might need to find a speaker: Ask in #ubuntu-app-devel on Freenode or on the [email protected] mailing list, to see if anyone is in your area to give a talk. Ask on your LoCo’s or LUG’s mailing list as well. Even if somebody who’s into programming hasn’t developed using Ubuntu’s SDK yet, they should be able to familiarise themselves with the technologies quite easily.
As somebody who has written code before and didn’t find the Ubuntu app development materials too challenging, but might need to find some help with organising the event: Ask on the [email protected] mailing list. There are LoCos all around the world and most of them will be happy to see somebody give a talk at an event.

Hey everyone, how's it going?! Our app is officially published on the Google Play store and we would love to share it with you. The name of the app is Lockout: Operation Drunk Posts. All support and feedback is greatly appreciated. It has been in the making for about a month now due to pre-made plans and events that could not be rescheduled.
