Hi,
I made these really just for my own use, but I figured I'd upload them in case anyone else wants to use them. These are just alerts, with a dong or a bird chirp, followed by a female voice (german or english) informing you that you have an appointment, a new SMS, or a task due. You need to extract them to your Windows directory to use them for alerts, not the "rings" directory.

I got a replacement phone and i want to keep my text msgs. Is there anyway to save the text msgs and put them on the new phone? I need to know ASAP!
I assume its the same phone - use spb backup or sprite backup both can backup and restore messages.
Similarly, I want to archive my text messages, but SPB backups doesnt seem to do what I want.
Any idea where SMS messages (not emails, it copes with those fine) are stored on the device?
Or any way I can output them into text files?
Oh, and I dont really want to use outlook if I can help it. Something nice and simple like zipping the SMS messages on the device and beaming it to a bluetooth PC would be wonderful..... (if only life were that simple, eh?)
the sms is in the email part!!! you have to do a job lot!!!
Bugger
Thanks for your reply. I shall have a rummage and see what I can find....
Use Jeyo Mobile Extender to copy all your Text Messages via ActiveSync to your PC (just like your contacts, email, notes and stuff like that).
I am after a small program that will beep every minute when you have unread text messages. This means that when I get a message and I am not within earshot it will be beeping when I am in earshot and I should miss fewer of my girlfriends text messages.
Anyone know of anything that can do this (or how to reconfigure the software already present so it achieves the same result).
PhoneAlarm will do what you need. Their web site is www.pocketmax.net but then again it is not a small program as apart from repeating missed call, unread SMS, MMS and e-mails it has a host of other functions such as profiles. Some also say that it tends to slow down the device. Anyway I am more than satisfied and suggest you give the free trial version a go.
Regards
Cool. Shall give it a whilr when I get time.
Any other options? Maybe free tools or something smaller?
Can anyone tell me where we can get Ringtones that Speak like "MESSAGE" when SMS arrive or "PAPA CALLING" when papa calls, etc.
Please someone guide me to this webpage. I need simple and good RINGTONES that speak thinks like "WAKE-UP" or "GOOD MORNING" for Alarm tones, etc.
1. Go to www.google.co.uk
2. Type "text to speech"
3. Click on the first organic (non-paid!) link

Wouldn't it be possible to just record them yourself? Then they would say exactly what you want, in whomever's voice you want to hear them, and they'd be FREE.
Excellent Job Blacocidian. I THANK you for this.
Ok I have PowerSMS which allows me to schedule an sms to be sent at a certain time in the future and I also have Qimsoft SMS Assistant which lets me send messages to multiple contacts and groups at one time. I was wondering if there is an app that lets you do BOTH at the same time.
Ex: It's 9pm and I want to send everyone in my "Co-Workers" group a messaged at 10am the next morning but I know I'm not going to wake up until 1pm from partying all night . What magical app can I use to set it that night and have it sent to everyone the next morning while I'm still hung over?
Pardon me however your question is puzzling me and I need to ask you to clarify. I have PowerSMS and it does everything u metioned so can u please explain what its not doing?
PowerSMS does not replace your phone's built-in text messaging features. Instead, it works with the same folders and messages you already have. It's simple, performs tasks quickly, and gets out of the way. Use PowerSMS to improve communications with your family,
Features
Group SMS:*Texting the same set of people over and over again? PowerSMS lets you create groups of contacts, and drastically reduces the number of clicks required to text them (see screenshot).
Auto Reply:*Ever ignore a phone call while you're in a meeting or movie theater? Let PowerSMS respond to those calls automatically with a text message, thus politely letting them know when you'll call back (see screenshot).
Schedule SMS:*Schedule greetings or reminders in advance. PowerSMS will automatically send the message even if you forget. Especially appreciated by loved ones
The main thing I'm looking for is the ability to use a check box to select individual recipients quickly (like Qimsoft SMS Assistant) WHILE also having the SMS automatically sent at a later date (like PowerSMS).

Like he said, Power SMS does this. It just doesn't use check marks, nor boxes. But choosing multiple recipients is easy.
When I try to set the Reminders, New Message or New Email Message Sounds Sounds, the choice of sounds is limited to t-mobile 1 to 6 and YHOORecv, all of which are rubbish.
However, Voice Mail and Missed Calls have access to 30+ different .wma and .wav files, some of which are ok.
Why is that ?
More importantly, and is it possible to let Reminders, New Message or New Email Messages have access to - to 'see' these sounds, all of which are in the /Windows folder.
Any help gratefully received.
