SD card mounting error - myTouch 3G, Magic General

For some odd reason, my sd card on my mytouch is not mounting. It used to work like a charm, but is now failing. I connected it to my computer to copy over some files. I safely ejected, then turned off mounting on my device. When the card was trying to mount on the phone, the phone froze, booted, and continued in this cycle. I was running cyanogen 4.2.3, I tried going to a different rom, like the rooted base of 1.6, but it didnt work... I tried to load sappimg.nbh to unroot, but It didnt detect it.
This may be because I have it in 3 partitions, but the current problem is that I am lacking an sd card reader...
This did work fine before, with the partitions, but just randomly stopped...
You guys know whats wrong?
thanks

Damaged SD card!!

I don't know when did this started happening actually, I flashed a number of roms in the past couple of days, but I can't get rid of this stupid notification and its really driving me crazy!
When I mount my SD card so I can transfer files from PC and the unmount I get the error "Damaged SD Card - SD card damaged you may have to reformat it"
The thing is reformatting does not solve it, and when I have this notification nothing that accesses the card works (music, photos, astro..)
I tried reflashing my rom again which made the error go away for a while but after some mount-unmount I have it again!
I have a non-branded HTC magic (32A) with Cyanogen 4.2.3 and Enoch theme and RA's recovery image and NO apps2sd
Any help?
Thanks
fixed it
Okay I got it to go away, I formatted from the recovery menu (fat32 only)
and I turned off the swap file and uninstalled the swapper app.
No problems so far!
i've found that rebooting the phone makes the sd card damaged error message go away
and that rebooting my pc actually solved the problem of the pc not seeing the sdcard
but that may just be temporary, i dont know
Strange SD Card!
When I mounted my SD Card I was receiving an error and was asked to Scan or Continue. I chose scan and then it looks like it mounted fine. I can view all the folders and files but if I try to copy any files to the card or try to create a folder I get an error saying the Drive is not available and it is no longer mounted. I put the card in a card reader and I received the Scan option again and I scanned it to fix any errors but it doesn't find any. I then can copy, delete and modify anything on the card. I put the card back in the phone and mount the card. No issues until I try to copy, delete or modify and it unmounts and will not work. I have the original T-Mobile Rom and I have not rooted it.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

SD Card unreadable / SD Card damaged error ??

I am using Fresh 1.1 and before I installed everything, I went back to RUU stock, formatted my SD card, and basically have started from scratch.
I am getting SD Card unreadable when I mount / unmount my phone.
Weirdly, I can immediately mount it again, and it is seen by my laptop.
Unmount, and I get the same damaged/unreadable error.
I am not using apps2sd, and have barely minimum on the SDcard.
I don't really want to format again, and I'm bored of taking the battery out to restart the phone, which seems to be the only way to fix this ?
Is there a cache I should delete anywhere ? Does anyone else have the same problem ?
I was getting that awhile back. Formatting the card would work for a few days and then it would mess up again. I just gave up and bought a new, bigger card.

[Q] Lost my external SD

Flashed my a500 several times. Decided to go back to taboonay. In recovery I decided to clean everything. I formatted everything that had an option to format including SD. I thought that was the internal however I was wrong and lost all my backups and roms. No problem I thought, went to my desktop put the new rom on sd card the reinstalled in my device.
OK the problem: It will not flash the rom because recovery can nolonger mount my sd card. I've tried other sd cards formated fat.
Any ideas?

and did those other cards work?
sorry
No, other sd cards did not work. So what I have is a tab that when turned on goes strait to acer logo and loads nothing. I can however open to recovery however it will not mount the sd card. Also, it is not recognized when plugged in to my dell.
Solved
Ok, after reading this thead

I found that yes formating the sd card in either windows or linux will not work. Using my android phone to format the card works. It is now mountable. However I still could not flash directly to taboonay as I wished, but following this thread
- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1276227 -
got me up and going again.
Put the rom on a thumbdrive. Plug the thumb drive in. Turn it on to boot to recovery. It should let you install from zip without having to mount. Works for me.

Evergreens SD card helpful solution CM7/CM9

I dont remove the SD card throughout the whole process of formating, imaging, and copying files over to it while it is in the Nook for installing CM7/CM9. I boot to internal Nook software and format the card through the Nook. Then I image it with the appropriate image. I resize it if necessary and copy the installation files over to it and then restart it. I do this because I have had problems unmounting it in the PC and then remounting it again to put files on it from the PC. If you need to add files to the boot parition later on, I just reboot to internal Nook and mount the SD card on PC through Nook software. Works great for me since I hated taking the card out all the time.
Yesterday I installed CM9 to a bootable sd card and my 2 biggest problems with this setup are: can't seem to get a usb hookup to a Windows PC working for either boot or sdcard, and can't get Adobe Flash to work. Anyone else?

Flash does not work yet on CM9. Dunno about the USB..I don't use it.
I am using a recent ICS nightly and have the same problem. It worked on an earlier install so this may be something with the current nightly. One work around is just to boot into stock nook and then connect.

sd card problelm

So my phone flipped out the other day and froze up a couple of times and when it finally got back into android the setup wizard came up as if i had just flashed the rom im using dorimanx v7.1 but all of my stuff was still there. Then i got an error about the sd card not being readable. It kept saying this then it just stopped recognizing it all together. I was able to format the card in cwm but it just says sd card error anytime i try to access it thru cwm and if i put another micro sd from my camera in it wont recognize that either. Since i cant use my sd cards i cant re flash any roms. Could this be a rom problem or is my sd card slot fried? i really hope its not fried because then the phone is basically useless since i cant use data without it freezing and now not being able to take pictures or listen to music makes it just a phone with a big screen. By the way if i put the card in and try to access my gallery it stops responding and has to be closed every time.
Would you tried in your computer? If you use Windows you can try MiniTools, maybe fix MBR can fix the problem.
