I've decided to move on from the Hero and get the Motorola Cliq.. I really miss a physical keyboard.. Does anyone want to take my Hero off my hands? for relatively cheap.. I put the stock 2.73 ROM back on, and it's in excellent shape.. I'll put some pics up send me a PM if you're interested.

In my opinion it would be JACHeroski. Its stable and speeds are good.

If you have no idea where to start it's probably not a good idea, tbh. Anyway, have you updated the radio and SPL? You'll need to do that before flashing the ROM. My recommendation is also JACHeroski.
I too am interested in hearing peoples opinions.
I disagree that not knowing means you shouldnt, I have been using xda for years and its REALLY hard to keep up to date with things.
Especially since theres new ROM's coming out, it appears, daily.
So please give suggestions on which hero is best.
Also, do any hero's have bluetooth yet?
I have the JACHeroski 2.7.4 i started with that one off the bat, laggy as hell but i need to change the swap settings. I believe that the closest one to the Hero software, no bluetooth or led indicator for messages, they are working at it. Looking foward to flashing this rom on the MyTouch when they figured out how to root that phone
the hero roms are getting better but i dont think they are quite their yet. still seem a bit laggy to me
I'm using JacHero 2.7.4 w/ compcache and the SMStoGMail fix. I still not always getting sms's but atlest they sent to gmail so i still get them. W/ Comp i love the fact i can switch back to "reg" home and have speed but if i want sexyness i press home again and go touch flow. Oh also over clocking at 527/128. Fast and when screen is off saves bat. have 5 widgets going on Rosie with only 3 screens and only get lag when i start getting bunch of SMS and emails and Gtalk at same time. One my friends keep joking i flashing back to Cy once a day but now with the sms fix and speed i getting i never do again.
can one of you guys please port some fully working android versions over to the cdma version of the htc diamond? like for sprint/diam500 users i mean. i have no clue why there is no development going on at all for our devices but we need your help.
I thought you jumped ship for blackberry? What happened?

point of story is i hate sprint with a passion.
There were two guys from the diamond cdma that had been messaging me. Than they just stopped.
Tell you what, create a thread for the cdma diamond in the diamond forum send me a link to it and I'll happily jump in to help, if I can

connect-utb has several of my donut and xrom images and files necessary to run android on the diamond. i'm not doing very much development these days. especially since i'm running my donut build from nand and can now flash yaffs2 images and have a full recovery screen with selectable menu items and usb tether so my laptop has a working internet connection when in android. also the moto droid or htc passion can wait a little bit longer.

Would there be a SenseUI available for the N1?
Does HTC have any intention on releasing an official 2.1 N1 rom?
I hate to get it flashed just to find out that the noise canceling or BT dont work.... That was little pain with the MyTouch..
This isn't development . Hopefully, we can keep this dev area cleaner than the Dream's. . .
Why would you want to put SenseUI on a Nexus? That's blasphemy
Why, for the bloat, of course.
I posted in here because I was wondering if anyone will be working on this type of ROM... so it is development related in a way.
SenseUI has WAY better interface than plain android. I love it but it runs sluggish on MyTouch. Obviously the N1 has the hardware to support this and not even flinch.
The new 2.1 SenseUI got leaked for the Hero. I was wondering if someone would be cooking a rom for the N1 with it. =)
But seriously HTC's widgets are the best!!!

to asnwer one part of your question, no, HTC will not be making a senseUI ROM as this is a google experiance phone. Much like the G1 and MT3G, they wont be getting a SenseUI ROM upgrade.

OH boy Cyanogens over here too!
i was sceptical on buying this phone as if cyan would be here workin with us then i just seen his post..5 seconds later i just bought this phone...arriving 2-3 business days.. lOL
Go Cyanogen!
Exactly, I saw him buy it, and off I went. I wonder how many he's selling for Google? lol.
Seriously looking forward to his new creations from this beast.
I do agree, Sense would be pretty BA if possible.
a sense rom will be made, just a matter of time

from your mouth to gods ears...
The sense ui is the bomb. I own the mytouch and have Qteknology's rom installed and although the sense ui is a tad bit slow on it, i REFUSE to go back to the donut ui.
I wish i could find a faster sense rom for my MT3G with full exchange support.
The second i hear N1 has the sense ui i will be all over it.
Not an official one but I would assume that when the Bravo is released it would be pretty easy to port the rom from that over as it's basically the same phone...
hahaha i love how cyanogen has like a flock of followers. tweet "jumping off bridge" and a lot of people would die. yeah actually i couldnt decide whether or not to buy this phone...i had the money but still its a LOT of money and not that big of an upgrade from my g1. dont analyze that comment i know its more amazing in every way its just...i had a hard time deciding if the upgrades / speed was worth $550.
seeing cyanogen get it...kinda put me over the edge...so its coming tomorrow. hahah.
on another note, i feel that cyanogen should finally play with sense/rosie/whatever. i think he stayed away from it on g1 cause it was too slow...but i dont think that will be an issue anymore . so hopefully he includes it...or pieces of it...cause some of their stuff is really cool and would be amazing on this fast phone.

perhaps itll be blasphemous.... but itll run fast as ****
Okay, maybe all of you people just missed the videos of this phone running Android 2.1. I don't understand how you can say Sense UI is better than the 2.1 version that the nexus is running. I mean, live wall papers is enough to get me over the animated widgets. I can't explain it, but I was watching the press conference and what they were doing with the photo gallery was amazing. I like the lock screen on 2.1 better than I do the Sense 2.0 lockscreen. The drag to answer is cool. Just take another look at some of the demo videos. I don't think there is much comparison.
OMG I GOT THE PHONE. and sense is different / better IMO. i havent looked at it in awhile but the widgets were crazy (better than the battery-eating live wallpapers)...and the dialer was definitely better and i dont remember the lockscreen but i think it was cool...idk whenever i used sense i loved it except it was too slow.
I hope I can have Hero's SenseUI on my N1. The new SenseUI for Espresso / 2.1 is quite ugly IMO.
But that is still way better than the vanilla 2.1 UI. No doubt about it

Sorry man. Sense UI is where it's at!
Just think, everything 2.1 can do, Sense can do it better. You can have your cake and eat it too, and then get extra fat on the ice cream and potato chips sitting on the side. Why stop there...
Personally I can't stand Twidroid in comparison to HTC's Peep App, and I love the way home screen looks in comparison to Vanilla Android. Cmon already! Sense Sense Sense it.

This settles it..definately getting a nexus one instead of a new laptop!
btw maybe a crossbreed between sense&the nexus UI could be made
its a hard decision for me , i love the live wallpapers&the way photos look but i also like the sense animated widgets

no way! do you realy wanna trade that piece of art with an expensive bottle opener? lol (cause of sensitive people on here, i have to state that this was a joke..)
i know i could never go to a smaller screen, tempting with android, but after flashing a custom rom on my hd2, i have never been more satisfied with a phone.
just my opinion.
which rom do you use? and what are the benefits over a stock rom? cheers :0)

it is faster, more stable! looks alot nicer and have all the nice tweaks
i had to reboot my hd2 1-3 times a day on stock room, i think i had this rom for 3-4 weeks now, still havent rebooted
and the battery time is so much better!
i love my touch pro 2 but kinda like the hd2 what do you think should i switch thanx!

The only way to know is to try one, honestly. Once you can find any in stock, I would just pick one up and give it a test drive, T-mobile gives you 14 days to play with it and return it if you want, no questions asked.
I have a TP2 now, and I'm dying to get my hands on the HD2. But...even with the faster processor and other new goodies, the main decision you're going to have to make is whether you can live without the hardware keyboard. I'll definitley know if I can within the first 2 weeks
Yep, agree with previous poster. If you can live without the physical keyboard, then go for it. Copy/paste and text selection are a lot harder with the virtual keyboards. Also, you can't dual boot in Android with the HD2. I made the switch, and although I'm pretty safisfied with it so far, I still miss the physical keyboard.
You can read more about my switch here:
