No one here had mentioned about the Imagio not having a soft reset button (besides taking out the battery cover and hit the hardware button).. so i installed the Smart Untilities Cab from the Ultimate launch website.. and it gave me 4 useful links in my start menu..
Bluetooth on/off
wifi on/off
suspend
reset
The Reset fucntion worked flawlessly... but i cant get the buletooth on.off and wifi on/off to work..
any one wanna take a poke at it and see if they can get it to work?
here's the cab
Why put that in the start menu?
Everything works on my Imagio but I find slide2shutdown quicker and less clunky, and Everything this program offers minus the reset is on comm manager. It offers "slide to turn off," "slide to reset," and "slide to sleep." I have slide2shutdown mapped to my long press on the end key, and if you have wifi router you might want to install this comm manager. Just my opinion take it or leave it.
Hey.. Thanks for for your sugestions.. but I like smart utility because it places these short cuts into my start menu.. which is easier to access and activate when I need it.
I guess I'll just have to wait unitl Ultimate Launch comes out with an updated cab for this software..
i would really like a working bt toggle.

On my Dell X30, i can have one of the buttons set to disable/enable WLAN. That means - when i press the button, the WLAN goes directly on/off depending on status.
When i press the "network" button on the Wizard, it displays the stupid com manager instead.
Since i use this button 99% of the time only to turn on/off WLAN, i would want it to do that directly, without showing the com manager and need me to tap on WLAN icon.
HAve anyone made a small exe for enable/disable WLAN, that can be mapped to a button?
Thanks...
Check your extended rom for cabs called WLANon.exe or something.
I don't think they work, but I guess they're there for a reason.
I've got a nearly working solution in VJVolubilis (that I've been too busy to fix).
S-K-Tools Schema (?) software may do this also.

Hello,
i also want to know how to do that.
thanks,

Hi all,
I use the BT A2DP profile to stream music through the media player and one of the 'features' that differs from the K-JAM (wizard) and is lacking in the TyTN is the ability to continue that stream even when the device is 'off' (useful for saving battery, switching off the buttons, etc.). With the TyTN whenever the device is turned off the stream also ceases. Does anybody know if there is someway of ensuring that the media player is not switched off along with the device (I'm guessing a registry setting or similar).
All help very welcome.
Cheers
I was wondering this also. My wizard was able to be "off" and still stream. ANyone got any brigjt ideas?

Have you tried just turning the screen off? PocketPlus has a utility called "Screen Toggle," which does just that.
When used in conjunction with the Button Lock (leaving only the power button active), you just might be able to solve your issue...

Yeah...what he said!
That what I do.
I really miss this feature to.
So there is no way to do it on the Hermes?
Its not particulary elegent to have to perform multiple steps to turn the screen off. it was much eaiser just to hit the off button and listen away...
I'm using VjDeviceLock wich is what you want, I think.
After you've installed it you should create a new shortcut in c:/windows/startmenu/programs/vijay555/vjdevicelock. You can copy an exiting one in this directory and edit the parameter. What you want is "-displayoff". I bound this to my Videocall-Button, cause I don't use video telephony.
If I listen to music I just have to press my Videocall-Button and VjDeviceLock turns off my screen and locks all Buttons except the power on/off one.
Also VjDeviceLock is just great to save money
If you get a sms or a call the device turns on itself. I once didn't notice this and called a random person out of my adressbook, because I had my trion in my pocket and were moving all the evening and somehow started a call.
This cannot happen again, because I started vjdevicelock with parameter "-install". Now everytime my trion turns on itself it gets automatically (re)locked.
thats a fantastic solution and it works really well!
what program are you using to remap the buttons?
Hi,
Does anyone else suffers strange key problems when using VJdevicelock;
After using -displayoff or -displaytoggle and resume back to normal, phone buttons (call/disconnect,videotalk) doesnt work anymore, it need to be softreseted before the buttos work again?
-Kha
EDIT:
just found out that when resuming from -displayoff, after pressing windows and ok softkeys, dialbuttos work again!
I'd appreciate if somebody here could advice me on how to map VjDeviceLock to VideoCall button on my TyTN (I have original TyTN ROM and the VideoCall key is functional ). I couldn't remap it using Buttons configuration utility in Settings.
as I said you have to create a Shortcut in your Startmenu. Shortcuts in Startmenu are shown as available possibilities in Start - Settings - Buttons (Perhaps it's called a bit different. I'm using a german version where it's called 'Tasten')
This is how I remapped it. I don't use a special program.
I use the device lock on today plugins.

This does not turn off your screen AND your device is sometimes getting unlocked when you receive calls or sms.

Thank you very much for your instant response. I did all you mentioned in your message and I remapped the VideoCall button (is it the Button between Buttons 4 and 5 ? ) but pressing it still doesn't activate VJDevice. Any other suggestions?
Is the device locked when you click on the shortcut?
If not: edit an existing shortcut, let's say "VJDeviceLock About.lnk". Make it point to: \Programms\vjay555\VJDeviceLock\VJDeviceLock.exe" -displayoff
It is right that there is only one "
When I open my shortcut in a text editor the content is:
Code:
64#"\Programme\vijay555\VJDeviceLock\VJDeviceLock.exe" -displayoff"
Yes. The device locks when I click on the shortcut itself but when I press VideoCall button, to which I had previously mapped the link, the Dialpad pops up.

How can you do this? Are you using a third party app? I see no way to bind anything other than 5 buttons on my device...
I bound it to "Button 5".
Is there a way I can enable/disable bluetooth through one of the hard buttons on the mogul. The messaging or the windows botton for instance. I just hate to go to the comm manager everytime I want to enable/disable the bluetooth. I don't also want to drain my battery by leaving it on all the time.
This won't do it via a button, but PhoneAlarm can do it based on profile and some PA skins also have a soft button on the screen.
AEButton Plus works very well for that too. Very handy lil prog!
There are lots of tiny little bluetooth toggle exe's out there you can find via google. I got one of those and then mapped my PIE hard button's press and hold feature to execute it, works great. Did the same with a vibrate toggle exe program on the messaging hard button.

Can u plz let me know what's the name of the one u got, and do i go about setting it up. does it come with instructions on how to map the hard bottons? I appreciate the help.
AEbutton is nice, but is always running in the background. Vijay has created a small utility called VJvolubilis that can control BT (and radio as well). Download his app (http://www.vijay555.com/?Releases:VJVolubilis), and copy the shortcut he's already created for you inot your \windows\start menu folder, then go to Settings > Personal > buttons to assign a button to this shortcut--bam!
First I would like to state that none of the graphics in this cab file are my work. I don't know who made them but it wasn't me. Also, I am not the developer of psShutXP.
What I did was fix psShutXP so that it replaces the Long-Press Power Key. Instead of having a lame, white "Do you want to shut down" window that pops up when you hold the power button, you will have a nicely skinned psShutXP window that gives you the options to turn off the display, power off the device, reboot the device, hard reset the device, and even gives you the options to set reboot schedules.
Note that ALL functions are working in this cab that I put together including Shut Down.
Screenshot:
is the application running in the background or is it triggered upon long press of the end key?

It's triggered when you hold the power key for about 3 seconds. It does not run in the background and is not set to the end key.

If you guys overwrite PowerOffWarning.exe, you'll no longer can turn your phone off completely (Exp when you wanna turn device off at night )
dharvey4651 works nice.
Thanx
Nice app. man , thanks!
I want to know, I always see apps that schedule reboots for the diamond, why is it so hard to schedule a simple shutdown? Or isn't it so simple? I mean, ok with the reboot but who needs it anyway? I don't....but I realy need the power off, isn't there something that can be done?
i tried uninstalling the application but it doesnt revert to the original..how can this be solved?

Adv Config
Adv config allows you to map the long press power button to whatever you want. I just used that to do exactly this and a few other indispensable tweaks.

Can u please share where one would do this tweak in Advan. Config. 3.3? I will continue looking.
Harvey, you're quite the h4x0r!
I've been following your work in the XBmod Manila HD thread and have been hoping for a working version of this program for a long time!
Quick question, does clicking the gear in the top right allow for a hard reset using the clear storage method? (or does it open the clear storage settings menu?)
This hard reset option really messed things up on the old version of this software, to the point where I needed to flash a new rom.
FYI, I'm using a CDMA Telus diamond in Canada, eh.
I can confirm that soft reset, shut down, and screen off all work on a CDMA diamond, 20764 sys (from the leaked new sprint rom). The scheduling function also works great. I still wasn't brave enough to try the hard reset function though.
thanx for tweaking this app, it has now saved me a space in my start menu.
dharvey- thanks.
does anyone know where the setting is for the amount of time we need to hold the power key down before the psshutxp opens? i'd like to make mine come up faster.

Good idea (i prefer the end key long press for this) but for an inexplicable reason it's not working on my Diamond and Advanced Config 3.3. It seems to take the setting but when i press the end key it "choose" the action which is defined by Start - Settings - End key Long Press.

Your welcome. I don't know if there is a setting to change that. It's the standard long-press-power-key function with a nicer, more functional interface.

It does PsShutXP has 3 functions:
- Display Off : Turn off your screen backlight (keep programs running)
- Power Off : The same when you press your Power button (differrent from when you do long-press Power button and chose YES)
- Soft Reset : Reset the device
About hard reset: don't worry, it just does a soft reset!
Simple Example: When you wanna change your SIM, usually you turn your device off completely, then remove battery, change the SIM. Now, you can't turn it off completely.
Btw, this is a good soft, but i don't think replace the PowerOfWarning.exe is a good choice!
If you guys don't care about the true "Power Off", forget my post and enjoy
i uninstalled it and soft reset however its still worki
ng.the only difference is that it does not appear in the uninstall list..
i love its looks but i somewhat disliked some behavior at the moment..
i found that after running it once it and after clickin on cancel it will run in the background (not such an issue as you are more likely to reset than power off the screen )
the problem in my case was that it somehow crashed this one time and a long press on the power button would not trigger it anymore..so i had to remove the battery to reboot.. it does work now again but i dont know what caused it..
wow.. thanks this is great stuff
however, anyway of making it into an actual APP, like the original psshutxp which is only triggered if u run the prog?
i dont really want it to be mapped to my power button...
I want to use an application to control it, can it be disabled?
Im not aware of an application designed to do what you are asking. However, you can use power manager to change the profile to keep the phone awake all the time. It would still lock when in standby, AFAIK.
Kieth
Settings->sound & display->screen timeout->never
Turning off the screen timeout off wont disable autolock. And yes, there are "slider" programs that immitate the iphone unlocked, which gets annoying to use when i have to hit menu to get out of autolock, and do the slider.
Go to anycut create an activity for setup wizard when it says touch screen, touch and quickly remove the battery, when you restart it will be disabled but you also loose the home key function, along with the green function, but it works if you can live without those.
that worked great but i dont think i can live with out the home and call buttons, how do i get them back?
Just run the wizard again and follow it through till the end and reset your phone.
