Hi all,
I'm neither a software developer nor an harcore techie, just a plain PPC user, but after crawling the web for days and nights I feel this forum is the only place where I can find an answer to my question. Admins, please forgive me if this is not the right spot and feel free to move my post to a most appropriate location.
I'm looking for a location-sensitive reminder & to-do list app for GPS-enabled cellphones; for example, you could drive nearby a drugstore and the device would remind you that you need to buy some particular medicine. Or, if you're near the video store, it can remind you of a movie you wanted to rent.
I know the concept exists and has been used by a student for his Ph.D, but AFAIK I never found anything similar. I really hope some of you experts have an answer to this.
Thanks a million in advance
If something like this could get programmed for a pocket pc it would probably be a gold mine. Currently not many ppc's have GPS built in but the number is growing quickly.

That could be a very good application. I also think it's not so difficult to implement.
Very good idea!

I'm interested in attempting to create a finger friendly alarm clock in flash lite...one that is similar to the iphones' in regards to setting the alarm. I've never used flash but i usually pick up graphics programs pretty easily so i'm not worried about that part. Its the programming that i don't know and how to implement it as a today screen item. What i'd like to do is make it as a stand alone program and make a link on the today screen to open it up. It doesn't need to have a clock. just an interface to set a finger friendly alarm. I'd like someones help with the program if they are intersted. The more people the better as i'm beginning. Any help from people is appreciated as well as any links to tutorials for coding for this would be nice to. Thanks in advance to everyone taking their time to read this.

I also need something like this. At work, if I have my work IM client open, I need to be connected to my work wifi. However, anytime that my phone is idle, it will eventually sleep and my work clients will be disconnected.
Is there any program that will allow me to choose to keep wifi on if a certain program is open? Thanks.

Hello,
PingBox2 already have that ability, if you turn the <Follow> mode on. Just type some internet address (google.com for example), and press Follow button. This will hold your phone away from standby, and of course, will keep your connection alive. Simple, isn't it?
The link for PingBox2 is here.
Best regards,
aDEO
could this help?

Some good ideas, thanks guys. I will try them out tomorrow.
I want to make my clock and dock at the bottom clear so I can enjoy my beautiful wallpaper in it's entirety. I've found the posts where I can download clocks but I'm confused about the .zip's vs the .cab's. I don't seem to have a /Windows directory while browsing my phone. Installing a .cab clock while TF3D is turned off and restarting my phone doesn't seem to work. I've tried searching for a HOWTO: Noob post but was unsuccessful. Please refrain from flaming me and just point me in the right direction if you care to. Thanks in advance.
I am finding this so very frustraing, I have loaded a new ROM, and while its perfect apart for the timezone is setting it incorrectly +11 where I am in +10, on a softrest it seems to always change back to its +11 (adds the new time zone back to the world clocks and makes it the primary...)
Can I hack the registry to read as a +10??? what can I do, this is VERY frustrating.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
