I'm looking for a small piece off of the main internal board and was curious if anyone had an unusable G1 with spare parts to release.
Thanks,
Which part is it your looking for off the main board?

I'm looking for the tiny little clamp that latches down the camera ribbon cable. To the left just below the gps board. Or just the entire mainboard.

I could use an 8GB SD card, is it SDHC?

An 8GB uSD is by definition an SDHC.
"HC" is only in relation to the actual capacity.
You are more likely interested in the sd card CLASS (2, 4, or 6).

yes it is SDHC, it is a SanDisk class 2 SDHC 8gb card. This would classify it as the slowest of the classes. However, it is has ran fine for me and I haven't noticed any major slowdown. I'm sure a class 4 or 6 would be faster for bulk file transfers but if you're just looking for a storage medium for your phone it is more than sufficient. The card is about 4 months old.
I would be highly appreciative of any kind of trade like this. If you are interested please pm me or email me [email protected]. I will send you the card first out of good faith.
Cheers,
Blake
Anyone have a smashed G1 or one sitting on a shelf not being used? Anyone at all?

So wmpoweruser has a post about this microSD to SD adaptor that will allow you to use up to a 32GB SD card on your Raphael!
Pretty sure it will work on any other device that supports SDHC.
just thought you guys would like to know.
Now if someone wanted to make themselves rich they could design a back cover for various phones with the SD adapter made into it and market it.With the SD card adapter and ribbon going on the inside. I bet a back cover thats the same size as oem could be made for most htc phones. Between all the touch pros, diamonds and variants you could sell 10s of thousands.
i think the whole 32 gb hype is a little bit too much :S
if you want 32 GB buy a Ipod. use this phone for calling etc. you would be crazy to buy 97,50 sd adapter and then 32 gb card for 100 euro's :S

If all we wanted to do was make calls and a couple of calender entries, we could have all stuck with a crappy moto or nokia. This phone is my primary music and video player also, not to mention GPS...all of which take up good amounts of space. That said, I'm not going to start cutting the back cover of my phone apart just yet since the 16gb cards are dropping in price already.
Sooooo.....the Fuze is able to handle a 16Gig MicroSD card?....why do the infos on it say only 8?
How do you suppose HTC could certify the device compatible with memory that has not been released? This is quite common, as the tech advances the capacity increases, compatibilty continues until the format changes. Future microSDHC will continue to work until something changes in the form factor or standard.

FWIW, my Fuze is using the 16gb card okay. Finally, got lots of storage for the nonphone stuff
Considering that a 32 gig sd card can be had for 125 bucks I may buy the adapter and use my extended battery back with the stock battery. This would let me put it all inside the phone and not have to do the hack like the page OP linked to. A small pice of foam would hold the stock battery in the cover fine. 16 gig sd cards are 27 bucks, beats the price on a micro sd anyday. I wonder if anyone carrys the adapter cheaper then this one place since its almost 100 bucks.

Anybody?
I have read the description, and it says "Trans Flash" with "TF" sigle, What is it?
Is it the standard SDHC? Will it work well on my fuze? (I know that it is not a fast speed, maybe class 1, but I want to know about this transflash)
What is this transflash? is every SDHC transflash? if not, wich diference betwin them?
I am looking for buying a good speed also, Does anybody know this one below?

This is class 6, but in the annoucement says Trans Flash too, will it work on my fuze?
I wanna know if both these will work on fuze, because I am afraid of buying and loosing the item, please help me!
Kingston 16 GB class 2 works on my touch Pro like a charm ...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MicroSD
Appearently TF is the original MicroSD name.
Not sure you'd need a Class 6..., but it looks like it should work to me.
Be very carefull with cheap MicroSD etc Stuff from Ebay...
Especially from China!
This Ebayer is accused to manipulate the cards memory.
Because I fell for that "sosflash" memory hack stuff myself, I warn you.
Youll get a 2 or maybe 4 (if lucky) Gb MicroSD hacked to show 16Gb.
I brought a SanDisk card from Amazon a few months ago for £40

Don't buy memory cards from ebay...unless its a greally good seller. And you can tell a card is fake with the crappy writing on it. Cant find one for microSD but heres one for MSProDuo: http://www.gogetbuy.com/images/article/Fake_2gb_sony.jpg. You could clearly see by how the letters are printed.
I have bougth one of this on ebay, I hope it works as 16gb SD card, I will test it before feding back the user, when I was reading his feedbacks, I noted every of them and I saw that it was in the most positive, but if it dont work as 16gb I will f**** his feedbacks, explaining his frauds.
Hope everything works good, I dont want problems
hehe
Thank you all.

Just read there.. I fell for it too <.<
Bought a "cheap" 16 Gb MicroSD from Ebay. Afterwards I tried to get some movies and music on it. It simply gives you an error if it gets over 2Gb content!
No wonder, 16 Gb MicroSD arent cheap or common in china! Its the other way around!
So I spend around 20US on a fake 16Gb card.
That sucked. This fraud is often used for cheap MP3 player too.
I have PQI 16GB class 2 its working wery good
I think I just fell for the exact same thing. It hasn't even gotten here yet.
Is there anything I can do? I'd like to get my money back for pride's sake, but I also want to do whatever I can to get back at the seller.

US$199.00 from the sandisk site
I purchased one a few days back, waiting for it to ship (of course stock was not up to demand).
so much money for whats basiclly a tiny bit of plastic..(yes i know theres more to it than that ). out of my price range im afraid but id love one......
I just can't keep seem to justify size over speed. A class 2 for 200 bucks is all I see.... and even with the 1ghz processor... music takes forever to load on a class 2 compared to a 6..
oh and transferring movies is a draaaggggg on those class 2's...

According to Kingston's sitehttp://www.kingston.com/flash/sdhc10.asp, There is a 32GB made by kingston. Still doesn't mean the Ebay item is NOT fake, or perhaps a cheaper, slower type of card???????

"Someone"? You'll be very lucky if it's really 32G, be sure to check it as soon as you get it.
sounds fake to me, also they can mess with the SD card so it shows as 32GB when you stick it in a comp but will fill up much faster, im not sure if there is a proper way to test that but see if you can actually stick 32GB worth of files on the card if you choose to buy it
Do NOT buy it! It is 100% fake. I don't even think sandisk makes 32G class 4.
http://www.sandisk.com/products/mobile-memory-products/sandisk-microsdhc
I bought a real 32G Class 2 card from a vendor listed by sandisk. It is fast enough for everything I do.
Gang I ran H2testw 1.4 and it is 30986MByte so yes it is real and not fake.
http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...gkQrC0JVzQ1PXC3vA&sig2=BWuCUhNEDlR86_xYSyYy1w
I have a lot of experience with fakes cards so I had it tested before buying it.
Well I hope you are right. I would still try copying 30G worth of data to see if it works.
But there is absolutely no reason why a card that is better than anything around would be selling for a third of the regular price. And when something seems too good to be true it usually is.
By the way, I'm selling a bridge if anyone is interested.

doesn't guarantee its a class 4(it could easily be a class 2) and it sounds like a low quality chip considering its only 30.25GB but that's still an awesome deal

IDK- the storage capacity in memory cards never matches what is says on the label and the bigger the memory card the bigger the gap is... Same with the Hard Drives.
Also my original SanDisk 16gb card that came with the MyTouch Fender edition only shows 14.8gb actual storage space instead the 16gb advertised.
This explains the gap between advertised storage capacity and actual storage capacity:

30.25GB is normal for an advertised 32G card. If I'm not mistaken it has to do with 1 GiB=2^30 bytes=1073741824 bytes while 1GB = 10^9 bytes = 1000000000. Manufacturers report on the one that will make it seem bigger (decimal) while the OS uses the other one (binary).

32 billion bytes is the size of the card. 1000 bytes, not 1024. Therefore the card is actually 29.8MB.
I'll still be very surprised if this Class 4 (since someone pointed out Sandisc does not make Class 4 32G cards yet!) is really 32G.

That's odd, they shouldn't get more than luke warm at worst. Could well be a short circuit in the card. If possible go and try another similar one or try the card in another device and see if the problem persists.
If it's an option, return the 16 for an exchange and test the new one before you leave the store. What brand is it?

I purchased it from walmart, so ill see what they say at customer service about checking it before i leave.
Its made by sandisk.
Worst case take your tablet with you and just test it in the car after you buy it. Does the same thing, walk back in and exchange it. Sandisk is a quality brand, so if you get 2 in a row doing it it's bad luck. Maybe try a different Wal-Mart or a PNY card.
It IS possible - I have a class 10 here that gets hot when i transfer a large number of files (or 1 big file) to it.
It's doing that at about 44Mb / sec, maybe it's just that the speed, like with a CPU, is causing the heat build up??

yeah, that's waay to hot - mine gets warm, not that hot!
Something is wrong
I use my MicroSD slot on my a500 often - it never gets anything more then slightly warm to the touch. Would consider returning your a500 if possible - assuming you have tested a few diff brands/sources of MicroSD card.
I returned it with no problem, I bought a pny this time, little more expensive but so far I haven't had any problems, it's at a normal unnoticeable temp

It's possible in had some sort of short or shunt inside - you might have found that you would not be able to put a full 16G or whatever on it. (like one of the fake ones off EBay..)

I actually could copy as much stuff on the card as I wanted, but only the first 1 Gigabytes was actually working; the firmware on it had been modified to just update the FAT32 header but ignore all the data Neat trick and would easily fool anyone less-knowledgeable.

You gotta think side-ways - with cheap 8/16/32 gig cards out now, they probably have ****-loads of 1/2/4 gig cards sitting around.
It's only a minor bios or spd module flash to make it think it's 8 or 16 Gig, then they sell is as such.
Gets rid of all the wasted 1/2/4 gig cards AND makes them money!
