I'm not sure if somebody has already put this cab somewhere on XDA, but in case no one has, here's an app that allows you to install all cabs in your TP2 quickly & silently. I found it somewhere on the Internet. Now you don't have to install every single cab and go through the installation process over and over again.
This app:
- is useful for those who are fond of hard-resetting their tp2 or flashing new roms..
- Works great on TP2.. (at least it does on mine)
Just install the cab on your tp2 & run the program. You'll figure out how everything works from there. The app is in French, but the ZIP file below includes the setup for English. Install the setup if you want the app in English.
Working??
Sounds great!! Does any one have any screen shots of this? or can confirm this works?
It works

Hi monotonyallthetime...
I can confirm it works.. it really does & the installation process is quite fast.. It even works as a background app
I'll post the screenshots pretty soon..
You now it is a very old idea? On most roms you can find UC (for user customization) that do the same. Search the forum for this one.
Thanks

Thanks for the notification.. I'll go check it now..
Or you can use Sashimi, which has also been around a long time, to do the same thing plus even more. And it is in English and well supported.

After you installed the English setup, the app would still be in French. Ignore this first and go the last tab on the app. You'll see a box that says 'French'. Click that box and an option box will appear. You'll see 'English' there. Click 'English' and the app will show up in English straight away..
Thanks

Boy I'll second the vote for Sashimi. I have mail, wifi, and most all my apps auto setup after a ROM flash. Works great once you spend the time to set it up. Only problems are some ROM's need different apps (is Opera already at 9.7, does it include an auto-lock, task switcher, etc) but it's a very cool program:

Hi,
Can you post link to the program?
Gilbert
I think it will be fair, that we download the programm from the site of the developer.
So you can visit his site and register in the forum. I think he will do many updates of this small goodie, so he need some of our support. If everyone can download the proggie from anywhere else, its possible that he will not put more development power on it.
Think about it

i have downloaded the software, but have no idea as to what to do with what i have downloaded.
I unpacked the file, amd it is just a bunch of cab files... Unfortunately, I am not sure as to how to proceed from there in order to get the program to work on my Tytn...
Can anyone please help me out? I am new to pocketpc devices in general and don't know my way around yet...

Copy this cab file to your device.
run this cab file like an "EXE File.
Then it installed my App.
thankyou for the quick response... I am going to try this out and then report back
That's a nice tool.
However, I chose to remove the communications manager from the system tray, but now the battery icon is gone too, even though I have not checked that box. And I actually like the battery indicator.
Checking and unchecking the battery indicator checkbox yields no results. Do you have any suggestions?

Sorry BongoUser, I just wanted to make it easy for non german speakers... you can delete the account if you want.
I also updated the wiki information with fit4cat Hermes Tweaker:

Will you be updating it when we add more registry tweaks to this page like the registryWizard guy does?
hmm... no luck...
I copied it via activesync to my documents folder on the tytn.....
When i open the file i see a bunch of little files that cannot be opened since they are not associated with any programs...
Can you please give me a step by step instruction as to getting this program working? Thanks again!
EDIT: got it! i was unzipping the file before sending it to the ppc, when i should just have sent the file over as it came

You can also have a look at Universal and Wizard registry tweaks, most of them are generic WM5 tweaks, not device specific.

Hi Bongouser..
All i had to do was to copy the file over to my documents folder in the pocket pc WITHOUT unzipping it.
I then clicked on the file in the pocketpc and it installed...
I think my problem was that i was looking for an exe file somewhere to click on to install the program..
It works great though!
I do have a question about the sound quality adjustment for the bluetooth headphones...
what is the default setting from the factory for this on the Tytn?? I am just trying to compare the different levels to the standard so that i can decide which I like best.

i know i know
i test all tweaks before i include it in my application.
I read on the below mentioned page that adding new cities to TF3D was really easy, and they were right,
the only problem is that i don't want to install something that I'm only going to use once
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=408918&highlight=weatherdatabase
So I created my own version, which does the same as the WeatherDatabaseEditor from andreas.falke
with the exception that it requires minimal user intervention so it can be used in SDConfig.txt or similar solutions.
Also if your country is not listed it will make a new entry in the country list.
It has been tested on my MDA Compact4 (Diamond + Dutty's V1.7 Rom)
And it works like a charm, let me know what you think
I'm not sure if it will work on any other device, but because the Diamond is the first of many TF3D devices
the generic "Development & Hacking" forum seemed to be a better choice,
MODs please move this topic if you think it should be in the Diamond App's section.
Currently you'll get a popup when the app is completed, I might change this in future version(s)
Don't forget to edit locations.txt prior to running the app!
Requirements:
- CF.Net, I tested this with 3.5 not sure if it works with 2.0
How To:
1. Save/Unzip (I advise in the internal Storage) just put the files in a folder.
2. Edit locations.txt, there are already a couple locations in there, Region is optional and first line can be ignored.
3. run CmdWC3.exe
4. To be save do a softreset
To Do :
1. Remove the currently selected Cities (or atleast an option to remove them)
2. Make popup optional
3. new version which has an interface, silent operation would be done by arguments "\Storage card\CmdWC3.exe Silent"
Any Comments?
Thanks to
R. DevilR for pointing out how it's done
andreas.falke for his work
idsk for the registry tweak
Garfield for his Tut (Yes i read that one too)
N2A for the website that makes this all possible
-=Edit=-
I've tested with some roms and here are the results
Dutty's Full 1.7 & 1.8 - Works
SwiftBL v6.0 - Works
SCv2.8 NL_Black - Fails
TLR 3.08.07.16 - Fails *
Bepe 0.97 - Fails *
DIB Diamond v1.22 neon - works (thanks Teto )
udK Syrius HD - Failed (Fixed in V5)
* issue is twofold, it looks like they use a different layout of the manila file... working on it
-=Edit 12.12.2008 =-
I recently changed to the udK Syrius HD Rom, but CmdWC3 didn't work, so
made a new version.
My advise, First run Version 3, if this doesn't work run version 5
Restart* and you should be able to select the proper city.
At least that was what I did with the Syrius Rom.
*I just tried with restarting TF3D only and that also seems to do the trick.
Please let me know if it worked (or not) and which Rom you are using.
Thanks
-=edit 01/07/09 =-
Just noticed that the locations.txt included in the first attachment is missing a > next to city....
you could get some error messages...
sorry bout that.

I added it to my list and it did work, do you have a German version rom?
if so what is the foldername of the Windows folder?
I think the App cannot find the manila files...
hi, yes i have a german version, the bepe 0.97 ROM.
The Windows Folder is called "Windows", also standard.
but your cab .exe file is in the internal 4GB Storage, called "Interner Speicher" in german.

The internal Storage naming sholdn't be an issue, I think it has to do with Bepe's rom, the orriginal idea (and application) has the same issue
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=408918&highlight=weatherdatabase
2. install WeatherDatabaseEditor from andreas.falke, the latest version is 1.1.
If it doesn't work (for TLR or bElite ROM for example), you can try this "patched" WDE (from PPC-Welt, it seems).

which one are you using premium, basic or lite?
I know TLR has tweaked TF3D to be uninstallable (whatever that may mean)
so there are some diffrences..
Could you check if you have the 2330fc3c_manila and _2330fc3c_manila (in \Windows folder)?
could be that they are hidden...
Just so i have it right, the entry does not show up in TF3D...right?
Also could you post the 2330fc3c_manila file?
Small update, I've checked bepe 0.97
it seems that he's using a slightly different version of 2330fc3c_manila
which doesn't have the Countries listed, also
the application cannot change the properties of the file to be able to write to it...
Checking if the Countries are mentioned is not the problem, fixed that already
it is setting the file overwritable thats the issue..
I'm sorry but i don't see a solution besides manually copy pasting a already fixed 2330fc3c_manila & _2330fc3c_manila to the windoes folder...
Sorry
maybe in the future...

I'm looking into this again, i can't stand it that it doesn't work...

I can post it but it could very well be my user error. I know that when listing cities in the U.S. the go in a little diffrently on all of the Accuweather programs. How is your command line program set up to recieve the US cities and I will try that first.

<Country>,<Region>,<City,<AccuweatherCode>
Code:
Netherlands,noord-holland,laren,EUR|NL|NL008|LAREN

Not sure how/where you would get the data, maybe this helps:

<Country> will be added to the country list (if not exist)
<Region> & <City> will be added in the country
You could name the country aaaaa so it will be the first one that pops up...

Not working here, says he cannot read the locations file?
SQL problem...
I'm trying to add:
Canada,Newfoundland,St. John's,NAM|CA|NL|SAINT JOHN'S
It is complaining about the ' character. I believe your SQL statement is getting confused by the ' in "St. John's" and "SAINT JOHN'S". You need to make sure when you read from the text file you encapsulate the string with quotes like "<string>" before you try to insert into the DB...
Sounds like a great prg, I hope you can fix it for me or give me the src and I will fix it. Thanks!

Just would not open when you select it from the menu. It looks from this other cab the dll is placed in windows. I'm going to try this.
Ok I have got it working now. The dll file has to be in Windows directory to work. I'm uploading my complete Full version extracted from the 2.07 ROM now and will post it on the first post. I will also make a version without all the the tutorials to save space and upload it too. But the tutorials are good in the beginning to learn how to swype.

I think it is this way when built in the ROM. I read somewhere that swype was going to add some support for other languages so it might not be implemented yet.
EDIT: The languages are working. just go into the input options for swype or press and hold the top left button to bring up a language menu. The actual keyboard layout doesn't change but the recognition does. Try it.

7z is another compressed format, use 7zip to expand the file, or use winrar.

Hello, We understand that file is a compressed format but after to have expanded the file where do you copy them in "phone Memory"or "SD"???? Because no *cab in your Download;
yeah.. thats what i was talking about. no where see any cab file
good to hear, hopefully cabs will be released soon.
My Humble Apologies, I fixed the Post, Thats what I get for posting things in the wee hours of the morning half sleep. All fixed, Cab Upped.
I will be updating this post tonight again, few more new fixes and additions of features I found.
eager waiting for your update !!
i downloaded the .cab package. apparently it doesnt wan to isntall into my tp2. i got about 80mb of internal ROM space. but the application needed +-6mb. it juz said install unsuccessful.
Manila has to be disabled, and the messaging app has to be terminated from the task manager for it to install. I'll check the when I make the new cab before I put it up, just wokring out a few kinks that I dont want to see in there.
Stupid question but still a question: can we install this cab on Rom WinMo 6.5 Sense 2.5"french" ???

Yes you should be able to, but its in english so if you have your language set to french (Sorry dont know the lang code) it might not since the lang code is not 0409. I have seen sometimes manila get weirded out by a different lang code, but Always BACKUP your phone before attempting any install.
Sorry all I know I was to update te post, but still ironing the kinks out, main kink right now, too many spaces under the menu selection, its causing blank spaces, need to get rid of that unsightly look.
Thank a lot mate!!
Just for your own information the french code is: 040C
FYI to everyone, I will no longer be posting Cabs or EXTs with features, When I release new finds they will no longer be posted with links. All links will be thru PM, since it seems people like to steal work and claim it as their own.
All info on First post.
First off AWESOME work man, and sorry to hear that someones stealing off ur hard work. Heres hoping ur able to get that msg limit workign and finally il be able to use it without feeling like flinging my phone into a wall im no ifan ( ive been using htc phones since the imate magician aka the Imate Jam ) but whenever someone whips an iphone out and it just does whats its suposed to without being laggy i get a lil bit of envy , but then i think about how cool my phone is and how i can customize it to the nth degree and say F#[email protected] that HTC rocks!

Hi
I would really like this update as I am so tired of getting the "SMS sendt" message when sending SMS. I Have tried to install the cab you have attached after disabling Sense and also after via Task Manager/Services "messaging service" set Manual and then reset the device but I still get the message that the installation was unsuccessfully.
Could you please advice me on what to do to get this installation successfully?
What is the procedure for installation of the zip file?
Thanks in advance!
