MMS/Pic Messages

Please excuse me as this may be a stupid question.
I have an XV6800 running DCD 3.2.6 and radio 3.42.50. Now, the previous rom that I had been using had a separate MMS section where I could create messages and insert images. This current ROM just has a normal Text Message section and an Email section but no MMS.
How would I go about sending an MMS with a picture attachment? Do I need to install something else?
Any help would be appreciated as i'm relatively new to the whole upgrading scene.

You should check out this thread in the upgrading forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=404345&highlight=arcsoft+mms
Just install that Arcsoft app and MMS will work great.
Ok, now i'm even more lost. I installed that. It integrated some sort of MMS capability with the SMS that was there before.... but it doesn't seem to work right.
If I create a new message and pick insert -> picture, it jumps out to the main text message screen, then jumps back into the new text message but never lets me attach an image.
When I receive a message, it shows up in the messages but it just has a little icon next to it which I can't seem to view.
I installed the vzw cab from that thread. Guess I should read some more of that thread or perhaps post over in that one.
Any other info would be appreciated. Thanks for the help so far.
Ok, i'm kinda stupid. It just took the good ol' soft reset to get it working.
It's great now. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

SMS threading by conversation

Currently the setup is that all SMS from a person are under one long thread. Is it possible to thread by conversation, like email threading works?
How do you know two SMS belong to the same conversation?
hmm good question. i seem to think on one of the ROMs I had on my Touch Diamond it did threads by conversation. I could easily be wrong though.

[Q] Can't 'answer' text messages

Goodmorning,
I have Android 2.2 (Desire) on my phone. I really like it, but there is no App2SD. But that doesn't matter in this topic. (If anyone can help me with that, without losing my personal settings right now, i'll be happy ^^)
When i receive text messages, i see all contacts with a +31601234567 nummber. There is only 1 contact that shows me a 31601234567 nummer, without a 'plus' sign.
From that contact, I can't answer the text messages, if I make a new text message to that contact, (so just the number 0612345678) he will recieve it. If I click on the 'Reply' button when it shows the 31601234567 number, he won't recieve it.
I can't find it on the settings, and i deleted the contact on my whole phone, but when i recieve messages from him, it still shows me the 31061234567 number without a 'plus' sign.
He got an iPhone with t-Mobile, i got an HTC HD2 with Hi.
I'm using Go SMS Pro for texting.
does it do it in the default sms client?
is it so hard to ask in this thread?

Google Messenger Does NOT Group responses in Group Messages Together?

Noticed on my Nexus 6P - after switching over from Hangouts to Google Messenger - that my group texts or MMS's do not get grouped together.
In particular, I initiate the group text/MMS but my participants' replies will get separated from my original initiated thread into it's own threaded response.
This creates basically 2 separate threads.
Now I could jump on to the new response thread & participate there but it will never have my original text mssg. attached to it.
& the original thread will thus go dormant with no replies ever.
I can respond to the responses in my original mssg thread but any replies will never get attached to my original mssg. They will go to their own response thread.
Anyone else have this problem?
AFAIK you don't send group texts via Google Messenger but broadcast texts. So if you send any message to 5 recipients 5 recipients get a text and not that group. If they respond only you get the text and not the other four, too. That's why...
I get group texts to work using it. I have one friend where his response always comes through seperated but everyone else is in the original thread.

Not sure if it will clear it up for you , but you can change the behavior in settings > advanced > group messaging
I rarely use group messaging, but if I recall correctly in the past, those settings allow what you want.

Actually - what you described is 1 of 2 options under the Messenger settings.
The other being getting a group reply where all the participants to my original MMS gets to see everyone's responses.
My problem is that the responses do NOT get attached to the a MMS - if I initiate it.

Yeah, it seems your one friend's reply is my current condition for all group MMS replies on my N6P.

Yep, as I mentioned in my reply above to dannydoowop - I am currently using the "Send a single MMS to all recipients" option.
However, the replies to a mssg that I initiate will inevitably be segregated into their own - new - thread; away from my initial mssg to everyone.

so once you get a reply it creates a seperate thread in your messaging app and ALL replies go into that thread that you can respond in? or does each reply create a new thread that all other replies then go into?

Yep. That is what happens.
I will not see 2 threads listing the recepients:
1) With my lonely initial mssg
2) With everyone's responses & no initial mssg.
I can choose either to add to the conversation but any response from counterparties will fall into #2.
That's weird I don't know why it would be doing that
If it is correct in your settings try deleting the group you made and create a new one. Also, there may be something about Hangouts that is effecting it. Only other thing I can think of to try to fix it is to clear the app's cache.
I have the same problem, did anyone find a solution?
