I tried to flash my 6915 to 1.21UK English but while writing I accidentally unplugged the cable and now the unit is stuck at the HP logo page (blue and white screen). It will not go forward anymore.
I tried to reset with two buttons between the Green and Red buttons and I have "Serial - HP Invent - vG3.9" screen, then changed to "USB - HP Invent - vG3.9" when plugged into PC. Then I ran "UNI_ExitBootloader" as suggested by someone but it revert to the Logo screen again. I guess I bricked the unit.
Is there a way to bring the unit back to life by flashing using the SD card method? If so where to find the material and the tutorial?
Urgent help please!!

Monday will upload recovery rom from SDCard for hw6915 1.21UK OK?

(only 10 downloads non premium account) Sorry.
this is worked dumped OS rom from hw6915 and SPL form hw6945. Worked fine on my hw6915
Need 128,256,512 or 1 GB mini SD card (no Kingston!)
Steps 1:
Open WinHex Editor
File->Open->OS_hw6915_SPL_hw6945.bin
Edit->Select All
Edit->Copy Block->Hex Values
Step 2:
Tools->Open Disk-> Physical Media-> (you mini SD card from card reader)
Put cursor to 0x0
Edit->Select All
Edit->Fill Block->Fill with hex values (A8)
Put cursor to 0x0
Edit->Clipboard data->Write
Save. Close all files and physical media and Hex Editor.
Put SD Card to HTC Sable
(for best result WinHex to save in physical media: in WinXP - Run as administrator..., WinVista- special administrative rights or in Safe mode Run as administrator...)
Step 3:
Battery charged over 80%
Put HTC Sable in Bootloader
Press Power Buton+Action Buton+Action Buton+Soft reset
In bootloader mode, it should show up with “press power to start", press power.
Wait up to 100% (or 10-15 minutes)
After completed procedure (view monitor htc sable to "Check sum is OK! COMPLETED") soft reset.
It is!
This procedure is free to use but at your own risk, I take no responsiblity for any conflict, fault, or damage caused by this flashing procedure.
No response from unit
Hi,
I followed your procedure and did it about 10 times but never got the unit to boot and flash from SD card. I understand essentially your procedure copies the ROM image into the SD card and place into unit, put it into BootLoader mode by pressing "function button+function button+soft reset". But the unit only show the "Serial + Logo + vG.39" screen, and stop there. I tried the "power button+call button+end button+soft reset" but got the blue+white screen and stuck.
Please help with any solutions.
what is the SD Card. This procedure work 100% on the device.

SD card
I used a empty Nokia 128MB mini SD card, from my unused phone. You think changing the card will work?
I formatted the card in FAT before the operation. What I can see is the WinHex Editor replaced from location 00x0000 with all "A8", then write from same location with the binary image of the ROM file from clipboard. But should there be a boot sector before the ROM image?
Thanks for responding.
WinHex direct write rom file in SDCard, not need to format!
PUT CURSOR IN WinHex to position 0x00000000 and write image directly to Physical Media.
Follow the steps!
The steps
This is a description of steps I took:
1. Use WinHex to open ROM file, copy from location 0x00000 the ROM image to clipboard.
2. Open media (Nokia 128MB) and fill from location 0x00000 with all "A8".
3. Write onto media with ROM image in clipboard from location 0x00000, first words show "sable.....".
4. Save content to media.
5. Close all programs.
6. place media in HW6915, push power button, screen show blue-white HP logo.
7. Push "power+action button+action button+reset", screen show "serial - HP Invest - vG.39", stuck!!
I also tried push "power+call+end+reset", the unit show blue-white screen and stuck again.
It is as if the unit has lost the ability to boot from SD card, or even read from SD card.
Pls help.
Thanks for responding.

I had the XDA special edition ROM on my XDA-I. for some stupid reason i downloaded the TMobile WM2003 ROM from ROMKitchen and ugraded it but i hate it n m trying to get rid of it. Now i have seen in the posts that TMobile ROMs have a problem where they do not let u change the ROMs again using the Program A methods so i m tryin to use the SDCard method, i dont see the screen that allows me to do that when i have the SD card with the image in the slot. Presumably i m doing something wrong while creating the image. I m doing it using XDATools OSImageTool, i have another ROM image NB1 file from ROMKitchen as welll i select that as the source, i select the XDA SD Card slot as the destination and copy over the image. but when i reset with the power button pressed i get the Wallaby color screen and not the flashing screen that i m supposed to see.. Can somebody tell me what i m doing wrong?
thanx
Looks like the rom didn't get wriiten correct on the SD-Card, or you have the wron bootloader version on your device.
Try writing the ROM-Image via an external SD-Writer.
You can also try backing up old ROM to your SD via Bootloader and then look if you're able to reinstall it on your device....
Stefan
stefan thanx for your reply. The bootloader version that shows up when i do a restart with power switch pressed is V5.14, Is that the correct version? Is there anyway to check or insure if the image has been written correctly on the SD card?
I do not have access to an external SD card writer so that option is out the window.

The old ROM i presume is gone? but is there a way? or can i use some other method? I noticed there is this USB flashing thingie if i press the volume button. Any pointers you can give me to use that?
thanx bunches for your help!
Maybe it's a problem of the bootloader. Never had Version 5.14.
You could also try this and then try to reflash your device:
# Download the XDATools ftp://xda:[email protected]/Wallaby/Tools/XDATools.zip and extract them
# Go to a DOS prompt and CD to where you have extracted the XDATools
# Type 'pnewbootloader bootloader_v5_15.nb0' to write the Wallaby 5.15 boot loader to the device.
The output looks like this:
D:\XDAtools\binaries>pnewbootloader_40116 bl515.nb0
Copying D:\XDAtools\binaries\itsutils.dll to WCE:\windows\itsutils.dll
in FindFlashInfoOffset
protection found at 8c0d60f8
result: 00000000 00000000
stefan when i try to do that, the first message that pops up is "Do not run this tool unless; you want to downgrade your 5.17 bootloader to 5.15 you have somehow managed to overwrite... "
Now i do not know if i have 5.17 or no.. as i said i had given you the version from the screen that comes up when u reset while pressing the power switch..
in any case i did a yes.. and it said "Unable to find flash info offset, cannot disable bootloader writeprotect"
thanx bunches!
stefan.. sorry if i m being a pain.. as i mentioned in the last post the bootloader doesnt work.. i think my problem is similar to these guys
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=7646
but i do not have access to an external SD card writer.. so i was looking at this article..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=2110
i have the mtty utility and i can get to the USB prompt, can i somehow use that to flash the bootloader and the rom? where do i get those files and emm is the method safe?
thanx again for your help
oh btw.. i saw this post..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=21264
i went over the steps that u had mentioned for making the SD card.. from the device itself..
You require a SD-Card with >= 64 MB
XDAtools ftp://[email protected]/Wallaby/Tools/XDATools.zip
Your downloaded ROM from my kitchen
step1) Boot your XDA up normal and connect via active sync (guest partnership is ok)
step2) Copy all your data of your sd-Card to your local PC otherwise all data on it will be gone
step3) Enter bootloader of your device by pressing On/Off and doing a softreset
step4) After the Message GSM OK press the Contact Button of your device
step5) Navigate with the pad to "CE+BOOT TO SD"
step6) Confirm this with the Action Key (Press the middle of the Navigate-Pad)
step7) After finishing enter again bootloader by holding On/Off and doing a soft reset
step8) Bootloader should tell you something tah OS is detected on your SD-Card
If No -> Problem
If Yes -> continue
i have problems more advice?
thanx bunches!
one thing.. if i take CE+ROM->SD of another device (going a reset with power switched pressed and pressing contacts button), and i put that SD card in my device and boot, i shud get an option to update the ROM from the SD card right?
if i dont.. is there anything that i can do?
thanks
IGA

What rom are you using? Try hard resetting the phone. If not, try reloading the stock RUU thru bootloader mode.
hmm I don't know the exact number since I can't check it I do have these numbers:
4.17.404.2
4.1.13.44
02.94.90
these are noted on the exe file of the RUU. It's a dutch version.

try to hold the camera button while turning the device on... if you can get into bootloader, it should show the ipl/spl info... and u should be able to flash the oem rom from there
If it turns on this probably isn't the problem, but it should be noted that discharging a lithium ion battery completely will make it useless; it will no longer hold a charge.
I don't know the circumstances so I can only suggest things where I've seen a reset like that... if you have a memory card in try popping it out and then turning it on.
thank you kraftey
it worked! the phone reached the today screen after I popped out the memory card.. That is really bizar.. it would be nice of HTC came with a update for this
My p4350 have the some problem !
I have tried 2 diferent Roms , one of them the Ruu , and have the same problem ! Only with the memory card out it start :/ Im thinking send the Htc to the repair center ...
Is it looping when the memory card is in? But when you remove the card it boots normally?
If that's the problem, you probably have something installed on ur memory card that's causing the loop... try this
take out ur memory card,
Try using a file explorer (like resco or total commander)
and go into your Windows directory and rename a file called
omap850_sdhc.dll into omap850_sdhc.dll.old then soft reset your phone and it should start working fine.

Hi I'm having the same problem.
Now I see the File but it wont Rename. Everytime I Change de name it pops back to its original name.
install total commander or an alternate file explorer ... don't use the built in one.
Im using a pdaviet Rom, resco explorer and tottal commander dont allowed me rename that file
If it doesn't work, first try a hard reset.
If that doesn't work, try reflashing.
If none of the above work, all you can do is hard-spl.
Hope it helps.
delete the file... and soft reset.

Please make sure you have HardSPL on your device. And also make sure you have more than 50% of battery left or you can plug in a charger just to make sure there is no power failure. DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
please use a ROM that is meant to be used with the Polaris. Please note that this method is meant only for the HTC Polaris, for other devices please refer to their respective wiki.
Instructions
Get a MicroSD card that is formatted as Fat32. The card must be formatted as Fat32 otherwise it will not work. It doesn't need to be blank or freshly formatted (but it wont hurt if it is)
Find the ROM image you would like to use, normally named RUU_Signed.nbh, and rename it to "POLAIMG.nbh". Depending on the source of your ROM file, it may not be named RUU_Signed.nbh, but just rename the nbh file you obtained to POLAIMG.nbh
Copy the file POLAIMG.nbh to the root of your microSD card
Plug the card into the phone, then enter boot loader mode by pressing down the Camera button, then using the stylus, press and hold the RESET button at the bottom of the phone. Release both buttons once the bootloader screen appears.
You will first see a tri-color screen then the information on the card. Press power button to start flashing.
After all these are done, press the reset button located at the bottom of the phone to reset the device.
The procedure can be also used to flash Radio ROM's to your device.

I'm really happy with that. But it doesn't change anything. Maybe the phone doesn't recognize the card while in loader (SDHC) or whatever. It just flashes the 3-color screen and tries to continue loading.

Same for me always invalid file name (already rename rom file in TG01WP_5005000176.tsw)
You must have already the folder "prg" on SD card because the tool can't create a new folder.
The prg folder must be empty before or you will have 2 rom in the folder.
Then battery fully charged but SDDL original can't flash a custom rom so it can be use only with stock rom i think.
Maybe we can replace the SDDL original by SDDL+
After more than 10 try, never work and the time for load a rom on SD is a little bit too long for me.
Return to better way (faster and working): USB key mode
But this tool is the start of flash by computer so he need to be developed i think.
Nokser: do not lower the arms
maybe few more instructions then, ie. 1st make folder called 'prg'
but yes, good work! keep it up, thank you.

Could u teach this "usb key mode"please? This works with T01a?
I'm tired because only the short pin method works with T01a;and I think is too dangerous to do it everytime...
Short pin method is dangerous only if you touch the phone during the flash.
For the "usb key mode" it's not a flash process but an upload process.
go in START/SETTING/CONNEXIONS/USB TO PC
(phone must be connected to the PC)
- activesynch (default mode)
- mass storage (it's the "usb key mode")
so you select "mass storage" (or something similar, i'm in french rom), then press ok and you will loose the activsynchron connexion. It's normal.
Your PC will found a new removable disc (like usb key) so you can upload the rom on your SD card more faster than by activ synchron.
And for launch the flash, you must back to setting connection for select in USB TO PC the "activsynchron" mode (or file explorer will not see the SD Card).
This method is for when you have big files like movies etc... use this "usb key mode" is more faster than activ synchron
But if you can't flash your T01A by using SDDL+ method so, you will always must use short pin method, but you can upload the rom faster by usb mode.

This method is for when you have big files like movies etc... use this "usb key mode" is more faster than activ synchron
But if you can't flash your T01A by using SDDL+ method so, you will always must use short pin method, but you can upload the rom faster by usb mode.

Next, use this instruction:
You need:
1. Micro SD card from 256 MB to 4 GB.
2. USB Micro SD Card reader or USB SD Card reader + MicroSD adapter.
3. USB Y-cable.
4. Nokia Smartphone supports MicroSD.
Steps:
1. Extract the memory card from your HTC phone. Insert it in Nokia phone and format it.
2. Insert the card into the card reader, connect to the computer and format it in FAT32 (default cluster).
3. Return memory card in the phone (important!!! Do not start and do not make hard reset until all operations).
4. Find first firmware to your phone and extract the .exe file with archivator (e.g. WinRar). Rename RUU_signed.nbh file in my case to ___.nbh and copy the file to the root of the memory card prepared for the Goldcard (not phone!!!)
The device file name match:
HTC Trophy – «SPARIMG.nbh»
HTC HD7 (Schubert) – «SCHUIMG.nbh»
HTC Surround (Mondrian) – «MONDIMG.nbh»
HTC Mozart – «MOZAIMG.nbh»
HTC Pro (Gold) – «GOLDIMG.nbh»
5. On your phone go to the usb host mode (turn off the phone, holding down the volume-down button, and the camera button, press the power button, then you will see a white screen that says "Enter USB Host".
6. Connect USB of Y-cable to the computer, to one USB connect card reader with our SD card, to second connect cable from the phone.
7. If you did everything correctly, the firmware process will begin. The phone will restart after a few minutes, do not worry, do not touch, looking forward to the end of the process. Upon completion, you should see an inscription "Update complete/UPDATE SUCCESS"
