Anyone seen the new HTC
If you ask me HTC should have put a snapdragon in the hero then we could have had something like this
http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/news/1558720/htc-hd2-walk
That phone runs Windows Mobile, so it doesn't use Sense UI - not sure if I follow what you're saying..?
actually, manila 2.5 and up will be known as Sense for windows mobile. I bet we will see totally awesome features when the Snapdragon HTC Dragon develops with an updated version of SenseUI for Android
I'll be in line for one whenever we see an Android version from HTC in the US.

is there any rom with htc sense on it?
i mean something good like the rom that the htc hd2 have....
Try [29-Sep] pcarvalho rom
"Sense" is only the new name of former "manila 3D". On pcarvalho-ROM manila 2D is included. Nearly the same without 3D-effects.

Wrong!!
Sense is the new UI made by htc used in most recent android devices...
I dont think its possible to cook it but ther´s a way to use it in our Polaris...search the forum
Read and learn:

“At HTC we believe that the best things in life should be experienced, not explained. HTC Sense is based on this principle by making the phone more simple and natural to use and by enabling people to personalise their mobile experience in their own unique way,” commented Peter Chou, CEO for HTC Corporation. With HTC Sense, the HTC HD2 melds the power and flexibility of the Windows platform with the most advanced phone we’ve ever created.”

HTC Sense on Polaris ?
Guys, I have seen that the HTC HD2 rom has been installed on the HTC Touch HD.
Why not on the HTC Polaris then?
Any ideas?
as the hd/hd2 are wvga(800x480) we have qvga(320x240) therefore it will need to have all of the graphics resized. Then there is the 3d issue which with some searching you will find out. Then there is the memory issue hd has twice ram/rom hd2 has ~3x both. so that is why it wont work.
Quite simple really
Will Magic also get Android 2.0 from HTC officially?
Given that the newly named ADP2 (Android Developer Phone 2) is basically the Magic, I would expect 2.0 to be available for the Magic shortly.
That is not the same as an official release with Sense layered on top of it from HTC, but I expect that this will happen... reasoning below:
HTC will be releasing a Droid competitor. The easy option is to release a HD2 running Android, which I bet will happen once they move some HD2s, since they don't want to totally kill their Windows Mobile sales and launch splash for the HD2.
They need to be running 2.0 to make this phone competitive, and will likely layer Sense as a distinguisher. Once they have done all this work, releasing it for the Magic and Hero makes sense as it makes for more happy customers.
It probably will get 2.0, but I'm betting it will be the vanilla version and not Sense.
Here's to hoping I'm wrong!

Hero is getting 2.0 with Sense, so after that I don't see what stops HTC making it available for Magic.

Here's hoping you're right! Stock Android is the best UI!
Win Mob 6.5
They already have the HTC HD2 and HTC Diamond 2 to tackle the Droid. Winmo 6.5 is user friendly to mass users and the sales of HTC will not dip in the near future. The HTC HD2 even supports Capacitive touch and outstrips the I-phone in a 1 on 1 battle!

I hear it got camera and lag problems
was watching a HTC announcement video and spotted the new leap feature (amoungst other things) that is coming on the hero and the desire, do you think this new sense will also come to the HD2 or the HD2 Mini ?
and if it did would it be portable to our devices ?? (please don't pick on me, i am only asking)
Well, our Sense is different from Android Sense. They have different homescreens where they can add widgets. Ours is predefined and (IMO) better laid out. Leap was meant to switch between those homescreens, whereas we can just slide over really quickly!
So, in brief, no.
However, if I may hijack this thread, any chance we'll get friendstream?!
That would be nice to have .... that is one thing I like about the entire Sense for 2.1. I am possible getting a HD2 next week through T-Mobile so I would love to see this in a future Sense update for WM.
Hi,
Well HTC announced that new Sense would be available with new Android devices and would also be available as an update to other Android devices and didn't mention WinMo. Now, as they are selling WinMo products that have an unknown future with Microsoft I'd like to think that HTC will be providing updates, including sense, to keep their WinMo line fresh before Windows Phone 7 becomes available. Alternatively they might drop Sense development on WinMo like a stone as they wont be alowed to sell it on Windows Phone 7 Series anyway (unless they can get away with a Sense Hub). I think that perhaps all HTC's interface imagineers will perhaps be working on Android from now on to be honest. I am not always right tho
Like most things on this forum regarding future developments, I don't know for sure. No one does.
Hello,
It looks as if HTC is releasing the SDK soon, making it easier to develop sense for non-sense devices like the epic.
Here is the link:
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/attention-sense-developers-sense-sdk-coming-soon/
I swear i saw another post just like this one?
I fail to see how this will make porting Sense any easier.
Sense is closed source, HTC is releasing an SDK allowing developers to make and optimize sense.
Thats why
They are just releasing an SDK so that people can develop apps that integrate with the Sense environment. Its not like they open sourced all of Sense.
Actually this is interesting, a friend of mine (IT professional) spoke to me today about how HTC is planning on releasing a mini-Market for Sense devices. If HTC were to allow Sense to be ported to other devices, that would mean their Sense-Market would be available across numerous devices. It's an interesting thought. Whether it's valid is yet to be seen.
Hello! can anyone tell me if there Is there is an android hd2 rom like htc one stocck?
im not sure if the htc one is even running androind but I saw the commercial for htc one and the interface looked quite different.
I was hopeing to get try something like that on the hd2?
The HTC One is running Android (4.something jellybean), with Sense 5 on top of it as a skin. Currently, there are no Sense 5 ROMs available for the HD2 nor have I seen a "sense-5-themed" Rom.
I think the closest you can get is a launcher with Sense 5 theme, and Sense 5 theme for CM10 or 9. MIUI ROMs have a huge variety when it comes to themes, it is likely to find sense 5 theme there, I give you no guarantee though.
Good luck
