SD card method...
1.. Format SD card FAT32. Copy .nbh file you want onto it and rename to hermimg.nbh... NO MISPELLING ALLOWED...
2.. Put SD card back into Hermes and reset to bootloader.
3.. Follow the onscreen instructions...
You MUST do this EXACTLY. SD cards come formatted FAT. Mispelling won't be recognised.

You forgot to say use 2Gb or smaller card, NOT an SDHC card
Should we have to at this stage......
I've posted this sooooooooooooooooo many times already....
Thanks!
I just wanted to add my $0.02 here. I am trying to flash my old "No GSM" Hermes with WM6.5, and it was giving me the gray "Loading" for about 0.00002 seconds before flashing back to tri-color boot screen.
Re-formatting as FAT32 did the trick! I'm watching the progress bar right now! So, thanks, ultramag69!
Ah, and just as I finished typing that, I got:
"Update Complete
UPDATE SUCCESS"
Can't wait to see what happens next! Surf Wisely.
New OS will work, "No GSM" problem will probably remain...
You're flashing the OS, NOT the Radio ROM, so the no GSM problem won't be affected.

1. There is already a walkthrough that I myself created. Please search.

i found this and i post here
format sd card to fat32
copy *.nbh file to root of sd card and rename it to HERAIMG.NBH
make sure battery charge more than 50%
press and hold camera button then press reset via stylus(or remove battery hold camera button and place battery again) and device will be flash with SD Card.
thats all.
i am unable to do this..my device takes me to bootloader screen. what do to?
So you're saying you formatted the memory card to FAT32, renamed the file to HERAIMG.nbh and put it on the card, then put it in the phone, and WHILE THE PHONE IS ON pressed and held the camera button and then soft resetted the phone with the stylus, HOLDING THE CAMERA BUTTON the whole time?
If ^that^ doesn't work, then either you're using a SDHC, which is not compatible, or your card is not fast enough.

These are two things you should really know before messing around with your phone and potentially bricking it.
There are many guides on how to format on google (it depends on your computer's Operating System). There are many guides on what FAT32 is on google, as well.
As far as where is the nbh file. It's THE ROM that you downloaded.
Knowledge is the best way to safeguard your phone from any damage.
Hope that was helpful. ^_^
Something that you might have missed...
I too was having issues of the phone going into the bootloader. Now if you follow the instructions to the letter it does work. However, if you think that my SD Card is already formatted to FAT32 and I have a bunch of space left. Then it wont work! It SEEMS you have to have nothing but the nhb file on the SD Card. That is reformat the SD Card then put the file on, and you'll be sweet!
Hi guys. I got a problem with my SD card after I recorded a video on my Nexus One (rom from Paul for very first Froyo over my rooted Nexus). I tried to to mount the SD card to my computer, but after clicking on the mounting button, the card appeared to have something wrong and displayed the warning message "SD Card blank or has unsupported filesystem". I could not access to the data on the card. I cared about my data so I tried to get the card out and used a card reader to read the content of the card from my Windows machine, but it seemed that Windows could not recognized the card. I thought the card was spoiled. I tried to save the card anyhow by trying to format it since I had the backup data on my computer already. Because I could not see the card on my Windows, I could not format it. I tried to format it on my N1, but after clicking on the format button, nothing happened. It seemed that my SD card was really spoiled.
But actually, I found a way that could help to save the SD card for my case. My solution is to try to partition the SD card using the ultility from my Recover section (I am using RA for nexus 1.7.0). The card after partitioning seems to work ok again. So I think the problem for my case is that the recording application already overwrote some data to the partition table on the card and that made my card inaccessible. Partioning the card again will help in this case but about the existing data on the card, I am not quite sure if it is still there. For my case, it's all gone.
Just a little experience to share ...
Hope this solution helps! Am doing the recovery thing now...

You can try to partition your card on an Android phone with RA 1.7.0 (or newer) installed. You can have a look at following page which is about RA for nexus v1.9.0 alpha:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611829
Good luck.
thanks man !
will give it a try... i first have to figure out how to get my phone into recovery mode. the three button method does not work for me.

whoa whoa if you have a galaxy s, do NOT flash the one he linked to. that is for the nexus one only. if you need to partition in windows, try plugging in the card to a reader and opening disk management (type "disk management" w/o quotes after pressing the windows key)
right click the card and hit format
Check your data before formatting it may not be corrupt
I had the same problem, rather than format the card straight away, I mounted it in ra recovery so that it was accessible over usb, then copied off all my data before formatting the card.
had a great froyo on the sd card working for months. i tried 7 and want to go back to the sd card version. I have read a need to roll back to 6.5, but when I try to go into the boot logger all it comes up as serial. are there simple directions to flash the chuck light rom back that i loved. realative noob here so please help in simple terms if we can or point me in the right direction. thanks
have you connected the usb cabel.
yes and it stays at serial in the bootloader
instead of running from pc put the files on your sd card and restart phone.

Just stick a stock WinMo rom on root of your sd card and rename it to "leoimg.nbh" then power up into bootloader and flash rom from card.
but when i open the boot loader it says serial, i cant change it to sd card or usb.
are you entering the tri colour screen 3 or 4 different colours on screen.
if you put the file on sd card and rename as above post says you dont need to press anything it will go straight to the LEOIMG.nbh file
somebody need to do a video on it on youtube????????
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrmlqrfCvas
its a 4 color screen
and since the win 7 is loaded it wont allow me to hook it with active sync so i could even put the old bootloader on.
have you tried putting the files on the sd card (format card 1st)
yeah, no luck with the files on sd card.
did u rename the .nbh file to LEOIMG.nbh
ok. got back to 6.5. went to load android on my 16 gb card, which is now telling me its only 199 mb card...any ideas. stuck it in the computer to see if i could format it and it says its only 200 mb card?
yes when you put 7 on it it messes the card up use sd formatter you will get the full 16 back get it from here http://www.sdcard.org/consumers/formatter/eula/
would of been nice a little thank you or summit.TUT TUT TUT.
Hi, I recently flashed my 1st ROM, an Android rom to my HD2. I followed a guide in a recent edition of Micro Mart magazine. Everything went great & the rom is up & running, the only problem i'm having is with the SD card. I just get a notification saying 'SD card damaged'.
I've looked around on the forums & i've read numerous threads on SD card problems but I don't know which is relevant to my problem. The SD card works fine in other devices, just not on the Android rom. Im using the Cyanogen 'gpc_hd2_gingerbread_v1.7' NAND rom. Do i have to create an ext3 partition to get my SD card recognised?
Sorry for another SD card thread but this is my 1st time flash & Android rom so I really dont know about these ext partitions and how they are supposed to work!
Thanks for any advice in advance,
Tom
You might want to reformat your SD card. Get your SD card out and format it to fat32(important) using a card reader. Also make sure to backup your SD.
Try that.
Sorry I forgot to mention I tried it from a fresh format in windows, although I've read about the Panasonic formater so I could give that a go when I get home.
Yes you might want to reformat your SD card I suggest you use this software to format it. Also make sure you do a full wipe and format it using Fat 32.
One more thing is have you checked to see if your Android is mounting your SD card? When you boot your HD2 up and you see the Android lock screen appesr do you see it say preparing your SD card at the top of the screen?

Yes I remember seeing it saying preparing but then it just switches to the damaged notification. If I then select that, it brings up a box saying it may need to be formatted but selecting that doesn't seem to do anything, the damaged notification just stays there.
I've got it working. I followed the guide in this thread & it worked 1st time. Just follow it carefully and slowly
Hi,
(Strange problem - OS does not detect SD Card however Bootloader does and loads ROM from SD Card)
I have a strange problem from this morning. I had WP7 mango installed which was working pretty ok apart from a few restarts if the bottom part of phone got warm/hot, so I kept it in from of AC (This idea usually works with HD2)
This morning, WP7 gave an error saying it can not detect the 16 GIG SD Card, I reformatted SD Card using Nokia phone/FAT32 and re-installed WP7 however it gave a message saying No Storage Card present.
I have also tried installing WM6.5 but that too doesnt not detect SD Card.
On top of above, strange thing is that I have installed 3 different version on WM6.5 stock ROM using SD Card method (pressing VolDn methos while powering phone up to boot load ROM from SD Card) and it works perfectly fine however the OS does not detect SD Card.
Has any body faced this problem and have a solution?
Or does any body know of a solution to this problem?
Thanks in advance,
Ash.

further to add, i have tried 2 sd cards 4gb and 16 gb. WM6.5 says no SD Card present however the WM6.5 and all of software (ROM, Radio, Splash etc) were loaded/installed using LEOIMG.nbh on 16gb SD Card.
I have searched the forum as well as other sites, and have tried re-formatting sd card as well to no luck.
Please help, if you have any idea of whats wrong.
Cheers,
Ash

We're all too surprised you managed to flash using a 16gb SD card.,,, normally anything 8gb or larger won't flash nbh files, so your problem is pretty strange.
I lost the shipped 8GB SD card more than year back and since then I am using 16GB SD card with HD2 and it worked perfectly.
Does OS like WP7/WM6.5 uses mount in some way to have card and contents available? If so, can it be mounted using MAGLDR or CWM, since the bootloader which IPL can read the SD Card.
Cheers,
Ash
indeed this is a baffling problem. can't think of conclusive reasons why the tri-color bootloader can see the sd card but OS (WM6.5, WP7, Android) cannot!
i am assuming you have just ONE partition on the sd card...? can you check and tell us the format of the filesystem, i.e. FAT or FAT32...? i think FAT isn't even possible on a 16GB card...it will likely be formatted as FAT32, but lets check to be sure.
Hi ASCIIker,
Many thanks for your response, the SD Card is FAT32 formatted. I have tried both 4gb and 16gb cards but WM6.5 says No Card found.
See screen shots attached. I have also attached screen shot of version showing Stock ROM flashed earlier today using SD Card.
I am not too sure, could it be some thing like mounting of SD Card under these OS's or under SPL which is not able to mount these SD Cards,
The problem started when phone was running WP7 Mango 8107 but it used to crash if it got hot and re-boot on its own, may e one of those automatic re-boots, the OS unmounted Sd card. When I looked at it in the morning, it was showing an error message of no storage card present and the options available were emergency call and shut down. I tried re-booting it 1-2 times and it still showed same message and then I tried loading WM6.5 from SD Card using LEOIMG.nbh which worked and left me confused.
I have also tried USB Mass Storage option of MAGLDR 1.13 however that doesn't work either.
I have never used CLk but I can try that if there is a way to access SD Card using USB with it.
Any suggestions for reviving it back are welcome.
Cheers,
Ash

It is worth a shot but i suspect you it still will not detect the SD card. Just click on the HD2 guide in my sig and scroll down to post #3 and look for the section "Updated version of clk with CWM built in" and click on the link that takes you to the download of that version. Then the bottom of post #1 and read the section "Flashing cLK via SD card". This will have clk with Clockwork Mod installed on your device. Then boot your device and hold down the home button at the same time, this will boot you into CWM and theb select "Mounts and storage" then select"mount USB storage". If you do not see the contents of your SD card on your computer then it is not working. Make sure to try "install zip from sdcard" as well. Just see if it reads the SD card that way.
Also I take it from your posts that you have tried otion #4 USB Mass storage in MAGLDR. So like I said I doubt CWM will see it in mass storage either.
Seeing as WP7 uses the SD card for the internal memory and is constantly using the SD card reader on the device at high speeds. It may just be a case of the SD card reader not being operable with the OS anymore. I mean it has to work at a certain speed level I think for the OS to be able to use it, and maybe the bootloader does not require that same speed. Or it may just be a case of the reader not being able to mount the SD card as read and write both still so it just will not mount it. Like I said these are just shots in the dark. But if it is a problem with it mounting in either read or write it could cause this problem I beleive.
Hi T-Macgnolia, thank you for this detailed reply. I was able to install CLK using SD Card method however it does not recognize SD Card nor does it mount it. It shows an error message - see attached screen shot.
I was wondering if a faster SD Card like Class 6 8 GB would make any difference to current state.
Cheers,
Ash

if you're getting the same behaviour with all your cards, then its likely to be a problem with the phone, and messing with this class of that sized card is probably a dead end. (thats not to say you shouldnt try if you have cards available, of course!)
To my mind its gotta be one of two things
1 - some problem with the sd controller, that is allowing low level access to the card, so flashing works, but not allowing the higher level drivers full speed access to the card, in much the same way that a PC accesses the hard disk much faster during a normal boot than it does with a 'safe mode' boot.
2 - a virus/glitch/witchcraft/wp7/other has corrupted all your sd cards in some fashion.
Just guesses, of course.
Good luck.

I agree with Samsamuel completely, it seemsit is something wrong with the SD card reader/controller that is not letting it read the SD card at a higher speed. Or something really strange and funky has happened to all of your SD cards. But I feel it is the first thing and not the later. If you want to try another SD card, as odd as it sounds, I suggest you try a lower class SD card like a class 2 if you can find on. But then again you may already have one and already tried it I do not know. One thing for sure it seems like a hardware issue and not a software or faulty SD card issue.
I had this exact same problem, in the end I ended up going back to original leo Winmo 6.5, then starting over with HSPL - Magldr - CWM - Android (though I guess WP7 will work too).
I don't know what caused the problem, I just put all these anomalies down to the bad nand blocks on my device.
I'll also note that mass storage in Magldr has never worked for me and still doesn't, the drive mounts but crashes on transfer of any files, but within CWM and Android it works now.
If you have exhausted all other options and have not already tried this then it maybe worth a shot. Good luck.
Thanks michael-jb,
I have tried all these options. I have tried installing different WP7 again though, which I will do tomorrow or day after.
Cheers,
Ash
