hey guys i successfully installed the Enable incall recording to my T-Mobo TP2 but i have no i dea on how to use it.. I see no options to record calls during a call. Can anyone help me out?
I have not used the Built-in recording, I use ACR Automatic Call Recording. By default it will record all calls and save them to any location on the phone. There is an option to have it ask after the call if you want to save the call or not. I highly recommend this app, it works like a charm!

From the in-call screen, click the bottom left softkey 'Menu', then choose the 3rd option on the list, 'Record'.
I'm not entirely certain where the files go once they're recorded. I go to Windows Media Player and update the library to get 'em.

The files are written to the directory: \My Documents\Notes
(unless you have changed this location by modifying the registry)

just to let you know, maybe I'm a dumb blonde...
Just discovered that in WinMo - reply to email - insert voice note
is actually working. You can reply with voice recordings , just like you could on the usual Kaiser/Vario/any WM6 device.
I thought the microphone was inacessible from WinMo, but it is not.
Another tip : goto you INPUT settings (START-SETTINGS-the keyboard icon) and then use the third tab called : options
Scroll all the way down to select the GSM 6.10 codec, and you'll be able toreply emails with voicemessages that are 100KB/ per MINUTE...

XPERIA X1 ONE-TOUCH VOICE RECORDING
HOW TO:
1- Copy the file "Rec" from "\windows\appbuttons" to "\windows\startmenu\programs"
2- Assign "Rec" to the right softkey (settings -> personal -> buttons)
Yes: now "rec" appears in the list !
FUNCTIONS:
PRESS: open "Notes" with the REC bar
HOLD: records while pressed, sotps recording when released -> go to "Notes" to review your recorded file
PS The icon in "programs" won't launch anything, it's meant to be used with a hardkey
whoa sweet lol thanks man
BTW..
After you copy the shortcut to the Start/Programs folder.
You can Mark it as a Hidden file so you don see this non-executing icon in the program area!!

Can someone post the file as I am missing it from the appbuttons folder
So is it possible to record while on a call? Will it be able to record the caller too or only me?

I just gave it a try but the result was quite disappointing. The recording app starts as intended. The problem is that it won't record internally the callers voice. My voice was loud and clear but the other person's voice was muffled, it only recorded what it could be heard from the ear piece. Not to mention that the notes recording application is time limited.
Anybody knows of a good call recording program?
anyone know how to remove the time limitation on voice recording?
SPB Recorder works very well. Still does not record caller's voice though. I think it is hardware dependent.

Yup after some research it is indeed hardware dependent. The only work around is to turn on the speaker, but meh... my Nokia 3310 could do that 10 years ago.

Cheers

I just copied the file "record.lnk" from "appbuttons" to "programs"
(please notice I didn't "cut" but "copied" the file)
Then, went to settings -> buttons and assigned "record" to the right softkey
That's all I did and it worked
very disappointing...
even cheap $200 phones (non-subsidized) can record calls..
one touch voice recorder
I use free version of pocket dictate, http://www.nch.com.au/pocket/index.html. (well option to register exists, but not asked me to do so... )
Have it set up to soft key and starts recording immediately. Simple effective prog. Have not tried recording tel conversations with it yet.
If I remember it installs other stuff on PC, which I simply deleted whilst not being connected.

Ok
TCPMP (Core Player) and DivX player are the only solution so far to playing avi natively.
Otherwise one of the tools threads here has a converter from the TouchHD that will let you convert them nicely to run on the Xperia with Media player. Found HERE
The HTC Enlarge Start Menu is what you need to make it bigger.
Please find them all (except the converter) attached below.

Ok, To make a video call, select your contact then just press menu-> video call.
The dialing thing seems to just be the standard dialer. I tried increasing the screen font size from the setting but it has no effect on the dialer.
It's not really that small anyway? But then my eyes work perfectly and I can't speak for everyone.
Maybe you could try the Touchstone dialer from the HTC, it's a bit nicer looking. (I can't attach it right now like i have other files because I keep an archive of the cabs on my laptop which I'm not on right now (but was earlier).
You'll find it in one of the Sticky's for the Touchstone stuff.
thanks alot for alllllllll
If you need in-call recording, this software works for both incall and outcall, and records both your voice and the incoming one.

Thanks but NOT work in rhodius with Italian rom. Have you news about?
@ronny06 Apparently the new version works on German roms. Should work on Italian as well now.
@ninja.rogue Thanks for the write up in another forum mate.
I have a Rhodium with Dutch stock rom, and installed ARC.
In the root of my SD I put an empty folder named Opnames (Dutch for recordings)
At first I set the path to \Storage Card\Opnames\ but then it prompted with a message cannot find path... ah right... so I changed the path to \Opslagkaart\Opnames\ (Thats how the SD is called in Dutch). But now when I enable ACR I get this DirectoryNotFoundException.... but I even get this when I set the path to \
Any ideas?

that application does not work for me either.
try installing the cab from here.
that cab does nothing but adding some keys to the registry.
the result of that is that you can 2way record calls with any arbitrary application. additionally you got a new entry in the right softkey menu in your dialer allowing recording.

Very very excellent works great with Italian Rom.
Many thanks
I get different results everyday..
First time, it records but didn't save with the caller name (thought caller ID did pickup a name on from my contact list). It also gives an error about .NET CF which I have already install 3.5 way back.
Second time, it save 2 same audio file with 2 different file names. One was file name saved with caller name, the other just some generic name. Both files same recording.
Today didn't work. I believe it hung.. even after soft resets, it still hangs.. why I said it hung? Because on calls, once my screen goes blank, when I put the phone to my ears, the screen doesn't show up even after I put the phone away from my face or end the call. I have to restart my TP2. When try again, same thing. And also no recordings saved at all. When I uninstall, my proximity autodetect screen worked again as normal.
Tried this app together with Resco Audio to automatically record the calls, but ...
When I call someone all is great and the record includes both my and the other voice.
When someone calls me, I can hear them, but they cannot hear me!
Disabled Resco for the moment and I'll see if this helps. (But now I do not have any automatically recordings)
Hi, all. Last night I came across a couple of reg setting's that added an extra option when making a phone call.
Here is the main key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\PHONE\EnableICR
Change value from 0 to 1.
Also change to the following:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Voice]
"AllowInCallRecording"=dword:00000001
"EnableCallRecodMenuItem"=dword:00000001
Reboot phone.
Then make a Phone call then press right softkey (Menu) and Record appears as an option. Press it and the phone plays a sound (indicating beginning of recording) and phone returns to normal in call screen. When call is hung up or you press stop recording in the menu. Another sound plays. Go to notes under My Documents on Phone and there is a time and date stamped audio file.
I have not fully gone there with this yet as I'm at work (long weekend/ 8am sat till 6pm Mon) But will let you know of any progress as and if I get any.
Bye for now.
Phil
Note
Sorry for basic path error, I'm working right now and am just popping in from time to time. Sorry once again.
Diigibio,
I believe the other registry keys to be modified may be the following:
[HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\WaveDev]
"VocRecPath"=dword:00000002
[HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL]
"RingingAdressId"=dword:00000000
[HKLM\System\AudioRecording]
"Enabled"=dword:00000001
[HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Voice]
"AllowInCallRecording"=dword:00000001
"EnableCallRecodMenuItem"=dword:00000001
Nonetheless, despite these modifications, it appears that the recording is not totally perfect with some software, such as Vito Audio Notes Touch (the voice of the callee is too low)
...
Thanks for posting this. Needs to get added to the hints and tips sticky.
The key is actually at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\PHONE\EnableICR on my HD2
Cheers,
tried it on a German stock 1.43 ROM, RECORD option does not appear in the menu even after soft reset.
And BTW, the correct path would be:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\PHONE\EnableICR
Best regards
GZ
Graf,
Try this cab.:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=493118
It works on my HD2.
Also it only appears in the menu once a call had been started. This id built in to rom without external programlike vito or Resco recorders. When I'm able to get my laptop out, I'll post a screenie.

I installed "2_Way_Plus_InCall_Recording cab" and it still didn't work on mine. It only records the incoming voice. Should i have tried "2_Way_Recording" cab instead ?
I tried ACR, Resco, Vito. Always the same bug :\
I've got the official ROM.

Did you also make the changes in the registry as mentioned above?
Normally during a phone call you can go into the menu and check 'recording'.

No i haven't, but i will. Can you confirm me i took the right CAB ? There are two.
Do these reg tweaks apply onlu for the built-in Windows Mobile recording option ? I'm looking for one which does the job automaticaly (not the case of this one apparently). So i wish to use Resco.
I remember this reg tweak back with the Blackstone. I tried it on the HD2 but the sound quality is very low and poor. Is there anything else that can be done to improve it? Once all is good I will add to hints and tips thread.

tboy, thanks.
That would be very helpful.
The above registry tweaks do work, and phone conversations can be recorded. The only thing we shall improve is the low sound quality.
There must be a registry for the volume level too.
So. . .
I have done this tweak on my device,
with all the additional info and Reg Changes also.
The recording of my voice is crisp and clear, while the recording of the other person is very weak (low volume) and noisy.
I think I read on another thread that someone else encountered a similar problem.
So my question is - is there anything else I should do to improve the recording quality of the other person ?
Is there anyone else still having the same problem ?
Thanks.
I too have done the various reg edits and although it seems to work (there is a record option when making a call, a sound plays and a file is generated) the output file doesn't contain either outgoing or incoming sound!
I had to create the key "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Voice" since it didn't exist, I wonder if this has any bearing on the matter?
I also initiated recording before I was connected to the other end, maybe that's my problem.
I will try only activating record once I'm connected and I will also give that cab a whirl, and report back
il be keeping an eye on this one,
Let us know if it works, and on both sides !
Cheers.

Any news about that?
Steps I took
Hey all,
I though I'd give this a shot. I changed the Main key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\PHONE\EnableICR from 0 to 1.
However I didn't have the folder/key: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Voice So I created it!
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Voice
"AllowInCallRecording"=dword:00000001
"EnableCallRecodMenuItem"=dword:00000001
It all seems to work, the menu option appears and I get the sound when recording starts, however it's very quiet.
One way around this is to put the phone on load speak. Then the recording is clear.
Hope this helps.
S
Does it work if you only edit EnableICR 0 to 1 or do you have to create Voice folder and these 2 reg keys, for which we are not sure if are working because we dont alerady have them originally?
