Apparently these guys have forgotten that anyone could set anything in his User-Agent header.

Um, yeah, that is reliable information. I don't think it is in the wild, but it is probably in some lab/workplace/employee phone somewhere.

Yeah but it says web browser version, and so it's probably referring to the webkit version, which I currently show 3.1, which puts timing about right with iphone 3.1.1 that it shows along with webkit 3.0

and believe me man i (and many others) learned this the hard way... to be patient, because i bought the T-Mobile nexus on the hunch that they'd forget about AT$T and Canada. but that wasnt the case. thankfully i sold it but still

Not yet. I was just checking it out tonight. I might email them on Monday, and wait till my G2 gets in before I was to ship them my Vibrant.

Good lord I can't figure out if this company is a joke or if people actually purchase from them. I took a look at their prices and you have to shell out $100+ for each individual mod. In same cases the mod costs more than the phone itself ($250 for iPhone 4 mod...).

there was a blurb announcement somewhere that either a carrier in portugal or spain was releasing the SGS galaxy in white
kept meaning to find out who the carrier was and see if i could buy a white back cover but never got around to it - waiting to see if i keep the vibrant (if the gps issue gets resolved, i will)

there is a fix for the gps out via xda.

haven't seen one that didn't demo the FFS syndrome (Fresh Flash Syndrome) - once installed for a few days to a week, it goes to **** again (except for allgamer's claims)
have you got a link to one i might have missed?

The X8 is not getting 2.2 or 2.3

It's official, the X8 will not be getting any android updates whatsoever beyond 2.1

No idea, ask sony phaggyson, I guess they think cheap phones with great hardware that are more than capable of running 2.3 still wont get them good money even if they update it..

You can use a custom ROM (for example the Racht's ones) to upgrade your OS Android to 2.2 or 2.3.

Custom ROM has some bugs so it is not fully FROYO and GINGERBREAD but it is in evolve so we will have good custom ROMs in future but BE PATIENT!

Phone with lower CPU can have froyo installed on it. X8 should be sufficient running froyo, either it cost lot of money to support X8 or SE think why should support 'old' series when they can make money from new one with upgrade OS.

I agree. This was my first smartphone, so I had no idea what I was getting; I just wanted a dirt cheap android phone I could mess around with. With all the mods, hacks, and especially racht's custom ROMs (I couldn't believe how crappy the stock ROM was compared to those) I've been able to experiment with, I have a much better idea of what I want out of my next android phone and what it will be capable of. As for SE, you're right: never again.

Agreed. I've just installed my first ROM (2.2.1 CM HACKDROID v0.12) on my X8 and there is no way i am going back to the original!! Works great apart from a few setbacks like vibration not working, unable to move apps to SD and locks on its own sometimes while i'm using it. But having said that it's still much better than the stock OS!!

I think it's important not to lose sight of the primary purpose of your cell phone. For some it's voice, for others it's data capabilities. Once these priorities have been sorted out, then you should choose a carrier based on coverage of area you're in most. Finally you can start deciding on the handheld itself. Choosing a carrier based on devices they offer makes little sense. Look at at&t... in most areas (esp rurual), their coverage is crap, and even in the metro area (ie, chicago), dropped calls are still common. Of course, budget supersedes any and all of this.

That would be the rumored new phone possibly coming to T-Mobile. A couple of tech news sites ran an article a few weeks back speculating with the exact info you see on that page. A couple of sites have the "rumored" specs and pic and are offering pre-sale. This is not confirmed by either T-Mobile or Samsung so I definitely wouldn't pre-order yet.
Another thread around here asking who's getting it is about three weeks old also.

i've held the dx2, the sensation and other 4.3 inch phones, size is fine...but the att hercules is just bigger..
besides im not really focused on phones right now, my attention has been on tablets lately.. hopefully tmo will get a new nexus device in the fall or early next year..
just random... why is it that when i call tmo, it's like a party at their office, LOL.. i asked one time and the guy said that everybody is taking a break .. don't they have a break room or something? lol..

No, that's also the Hercules. You can see the FFC hole on the left side and Vibrant doesn't have TouchWiz 4.0
