Touchscreen Calibration Data

Hi,
i am using a magician O2 mini..
The touchscreen for my pda seems to be damaged in the centre area as it fails to respond to taps there.. so i can never calibrate the screen..
there is no service nearby and i am trying to continue with the device tilli get a new one..
nowadays everytime i soft reset the set it loses it's calibration data..
and when i want to recalibrate the screen it just goes on and on .. neverending as i have read in other topics there is no solution for this problem...
i was wondering whether we could download and save the calibration data and just restore it next time there is a reset.. there is a program called "Remote Screen Alignment" from Code Factory (http://www.codefactory.es/downloads/mobile_speak_pocket/MSP_RemoteAlignment.zip)
this program is supposed to be able to copy the calibration data and store on our PC's so that we may recover it later..
i was wondering whether anyone owning a magician O2 XDA mini (PM10A) coud do the needful and upload the calibration file..

How do I retrieve the screen alignment information?
Connect the device to your computer and ensure that Active Sync recognizes your device.
Open the Remote Screen Alignment application on your computer.
Tab to the “Retrieve” button and press enter.
A file with the name “Calibration.dat” will be created in the same directory as the Remote Screen Alignment application.
You will need this file for automatically aligning the screen when you hard reset your device.

I need also the file for automatically aligning XDA mini PM10A, anyone has XDA Mini working please install this program and send to us the calibration, also you can use it for future
note:
you can download program at: http://216.139.221.18/downloads/mobile_speak_pocket/release/MSP_RemoteAlignment.zip
and all you have to do is: install and click RETRIEVE button and you have the calibration file.

just have donne the calibration and made the file you ask..

hi. just wondering, i have problem of have to align my screen many times. its just out sometimes every 2 hours - annoying...
will this file make the alignment permanent and solve my problem?

My cell also had the same problem. There is a bunch of wires coming from the back of touch screen, these wires fix inside a socket. There is a black color cover that fix the wires inside that socket. During mishandling that cover got loose, that's why your cell loose the screen setting. I fixed that cover and now my Jam works perfectly. (Do it if you have the courage to open your cell)

Calibration Data for Imate Jam
Hi all, I have an imate Jam running on win 2003 rom. I did a hard reset and am failing to calibrate, i manage to skip the welcome screen but the only problem am having now to the calibration. Does somebody have calibration data for imate Jam?

the gps doesn`t work

i am new here and i come from germany and thats why my english so bad
but i need your help!
the gps of the athena doesn`t work, although the orange led blinking on my ameo.i try it with different softwares like tomtom or gps tuner and i get always the same result (waiting for gps signal), i can`t understand it .
the unlock of my ameo was succeeds.
please help me xdateam , i am so despaired

How long are you waiting? On the first use (a cold boot) of the GPS can literally take 2-3 minutes. If you don't use it for a while, it will do it again.

that was started by eaglesteve and it shows you the optimal settings for your gps. it works well for me and i'm using tomtom. i can get a fix even inside a room with just a window nearby =) no kidding too! but yeah, try that out and see how it goes.

which ROM are you using?

i ve used the original WM6.than i downgraded to WM 5 , but i have the same result (orange led blinking, no gps signal )
Can it be that my Gps is broken down? As if that was so than the gps should not blinking?

of corse i connect my ameo with an extern gps and i have got a signel in few seconds.

Sound like you need to send it back to the service centre for repair, if your ROM is not wrong, and none of the settings discussed so far worked.

if I make this, service centre won't repair my ameo because it is unlocked.
can i make declining the unlockprocess?

Flash back the original wm6 rom and hope they don't see the spl. Give a try.

you mean wm5 because as i`ve bought the ameo it hase wm5 . hahahah
but i think they will detected the unlock.
myabe there are other possibilities to fix gps?

Not necessary to be wm5, since they let us legally upgrade to wm6.
It may not detect the unlock. Many on this forum found that out to be the case.

I returned mine to HTC USA for service (broken USB connector) and they didn't say a word.
BTW, you might want to try COMM port 5 for your GPS instead of 4. Depends on who know what. VisualGSPce (http://www.visualgps.net/VisualGPSce/default.htm -- free) will show you your port for sure under the configure menu. Maybe try that to see what the status is.

Imate jasjar cant use wlan, please help me bros

Hi all universal user out there i recently encounter with a problem, my I mate jasjar seems to have problem detecting wifi signal , is there a problem with my software or what ? When I didn't turn on any wifi, it comes out a msg of '' to connect to either internet or work set up a new connecion in settings'' but I couldnt set up any new connections. can any bro help me out with this ?? I am very new to my jasjar now really need help from all the pros out there, much much appreciated.

hi orb, very nice to see u , I have seen u in diffrent post helping around, very nice to have a person like u in the forum. anyway, I am an extremely new pda user. I dono how to check hard reset the phone can I know wad exactly isit ? And I do not have an IP when the wlan is not connected. Is this the same in every universal? I m sorry in advance if I asked anything stupid..

EMERGENCY!! newbie needs help with internet

so i bought and i-mate jasjar last week, came home yesterday! i have T-MOBILE i had a T-mobile 3G but i got this now. so i put in my SIM Card and the first thing i wanted to do was test out the internet BUT IT DOESNT WORK!!! and i want to know why!?!? and how i can fix this PLEASE!!! so i type in a website like nba.com and this message comes up "cannot connect for unknown reason. To check you connection settings and chnage them if needed, tap settings. if this problem continues reset your device accoring to your manufacture's documentation and try again" what does that mean? PLEASE help i really need the internet and i just got this pda yesterday!! =[ and one more thing i hardly get service anywhere is it t-mobile or the phone??

Ok did you try to get internet setting from your operator ???.. some time you may need to get it...and did you mean you don't get proper phone signal beside not getting internet ???? is so then you can upgrade your radio rom... instructions in the wiki ( 2nd link in orb's post).... and please keep us updated of any progress...

I second that. I have Vodafone NZ settings .CAB and keep it on a memory card, so that whenever I get new ROM that doesn't come with wizard I just install my .CAB, otherwise you don't get internet, only phone. So find the settings for your provider or ask for someone to post the .cab, then get it on your device and click to install.
The service problem can be either Radio or location or device. Someone on this forum had the same problem and couldn't get proper service at his work. Read the Wiki for the different Radio versions and the correct flashing procedure.
I suggest as a new owner of Uni, you should read the Wiki and forums, it has all the info you need to get you started, addicted and completely in love with your device.

Are you asking us what GPRS 3G / GSM is, or is that what pops up?

need help for my WM 6.1

hi... am looking for a good samaritan who can give a piece of advice for my XDA II mini WM6.1...
i am surfing on the net of my XDA when it shutdown i thought it was a battery problem so i try to charged it but i've noticed that it didn't opened for a couple of hours of charging. i tried to reset but it didn't work. so i decide to hard reset my phone but again it did'nt work, and now my XDA II mini WM 6.1 is totally dead.... i also tried to flash my phone but the activesync of my phone cant detect my PC, and even rebooting my phone also did'nt work.
is there anyone know how to fix my prob.?
