Hey all, I just wanted to know what kind of data plans you have for your Heros.
I have looked online and gotten the right APN for AT&T. At least I'm sure.
APN: wap.cingular
Username: [email protected]
Password: CINGULAR1
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
MMS Port: 80
Everything else I did not touch.
I am on AT&T, and have recently gotten the 10 dollar data plan. The browser and retrieving the weather works just fine, but when I try to sign onto Gmail using the Gmail application, it says that I have no network connection or my SIM card is not set up for this sort of data.
After further analysis, I was able to use Peep and Mail to check my Exchange email just fine. Only when trying to log into Google and Gmail that the error comes up. This happens with on Edge AND on Wifi.
The error: "This could be a temporary problem or your SIM card may not be provisioned for data services. If it continues, call Customer Care.
Are you guys on a PDA plan or anything like that? Let me know please! Having this phone with no access to anything sucks!
I called AT&T support, and since it is an unlocked device, they said they can't really help me at all.
Thanks everyone!
Well! Problem solved with a simple factory reset. Now onto add MoDaCo's ROM!

Hello all,
I thought that it would be good to share this with the rest of the world.
I'm using the HTC Magic on fido, and for the longest time I had trouble finding working fido MMS APN settings. Most of what I could find via a google search referenced just setting up one APN, quoted various proxies, server addresses - let's just say a lot of contradicting information.
Finally - I did a quick search about the APN Type (the last field in the APN setup screen). I solved my MMS worries by setting up two APNs with different types.
So without further delay, here's the good stuff.
APN1 [this one will have the radio button beside it]
Name: fido internet
APN: internet.fido.ca
Username: fido
Password: fido
APN Type: default
(all other fields blank)
APN2 [this one will not have any radio button beside it]
Name: fido mms
APN: mms.fido.ca
MMSC: http://mms.fido.ca
MMS Proxy: 205.151.011.013
APN Type: mms
(all other fields blank)
Hope this helps!
(Sorry if someone already posted this.)
thanks i needed this

PERFECT! I had the internet settings but not mms. other sites are giving incorrect mms settings for Fido, But U R DA MAN!
Data plan blocked?
Is it possible Fido applied the data plan shutdown to unlocked phone owners too? See article “Rogers Canada forces Android update that takes away root access” on boingboing.net.
I had good 3G bandwidth in the morning and no more connection in the afternoon. Still offline
Anyone else experiencing the same troubles?
They might have changed the APN credentials...
I recently got my sister's Rogers Dream ... NOT unlocked or anything...and i have the old sim from about 5 years ago....(don't know if that is the reason)
but these FIDO APN settings are not working for me!

Hey do you still have this problem? Because I do and I'd like to fix it. Do you think that Rogers ban extends to Fido customers as well (since they use the same network)?
This may help you to solve the problem.
Figured it out today thanks to all the other information here.
Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile Networks -> Acces Point Names
Create a new one for each:
Internet
Name: Fido Internet
APN: internet.fido.ca
Proxy: 205.151.11.11
Username: fido
Password: fido
MCC: 302
MCN: 370
MMS
Name: Fido MMS
APN: mms.fido.ca
MMSC: htp://mms.fido.ca
MMS Proxy: 205.151.11.13
MMS Port: 8080 (still needs to be confirmed, I didn't want to test too much without unlimited MMS)
Username: fido
Password: fido
MCC: 302
MCN: 370
APN Type: mms
So far it works!
These settings worked awesome for me. I have a Rogers Samsung Galaxy S Captivate. I unlocked it to use on Fido's network. At first, my voice worked fine, but no data. These APN settings now have my data working. Thank you so much for posting this!
I'm using these settings on an unlocked Atrix and no luck at all. How long does it usually take for these settings to work?

Should be nearly instant if they are right.

I have an rooted and unlocked Telus Desire HD. The settings worked but very ofter I get an connection error and it no longer connects. Anyone having the same issues?
Fido / Motorola XT860 (Bell)
Thanks so much for this tread.
Most of the informations was PERFECT for me.
Thanks again
works great. been using those settings for a while. Great job
For about a week now I have been receiving mms without a problem I dont have a data plan since Im in a wifi spot through out the day. anybody else notice this? BTW I can't send pics just receive but thats better than nothing right.
I think they just charge you extra for that.
Pretty sure you dont need a data plan for it.
Well i have NO data plan either and i cannot RECIEVE or SEND mms...what are your apn settings? did you alter them? Ive been trying to figure out a workaround for mms without a data plan forever...
dont know what caused it?

I didnt change any apn settings, friends always send me pics and fails to download. But it just randomly started to work, no extra charges. I called tmo and they said I dont get charged for sending or receiving messages. the wifes mytouch and both my sisters g1 also receive pics. Again they cant send just receive. apn settings are epc.tmobile.com
MMS settings are quite simple actually.
Look up the APN settings for your network, and under APN type, put in "mms" (without quotes).
Here are my settings for Fido in Canada:
Name: Fido MMS
APN: mms.fido.ca
Proxy: <Not set>
Port: <Not set>
Username: <Not set>
Password: <Not set>
Server: <Not set>
MMSC: http://mms.fido.ca
MMS proxy: 205.151.011.013
MMS port: <not set>
MCC: 302
MNC: 370
APN type: mms
It works perfectly for me. No data plan, can receive MMS. Never tried to send as it costs 50 cents a piece. Give it a try, let me know how it works out!
make it clear!

We are talking about TMOUS settings, cuz were arent allowed to use data without having the actual data plan unlike att that will allow you to use it but charge by the kb
you should be able to receive/send mms.
when you refer to data plan... are you talkin bout internet data? or a txt msg plan?
cuz you dont need internet plan for mms nor a txt msg plan to get the mms. if you dont have a msg plan, then you will be charged for it, but should still be able to receive them...
Cant send but can receive
Not on TMOUS you cant, All their smartphones BB,Android,WM are set to only receive mms if you have data add-on(internet). You can look at the android section and see how I stand correct on that. Until a couple weeks ago Ive been able to receive mms without having the data, as well as the wife with her android phone. We have a unlimited messaging plan since day one (6yrs) but have never been able to send or receive pics on android,bb or winmo
mms do not reqd data plan,
neither does sms,
only email/www/telnet/ssh - whatever floats your boat is using "data"
(so does youtube)

This would apply to most cell phone service providers but NOT to T-Mobile USA.
Thanks

thank you, I tryed explaining but he just wont listen
Ok, well there are different settings for T-Mobile.
I grabbed these settings from another XDA forum for the HTC TyTN
Server Name: T-Mobile MMSC
Gateway: 216.155.165.50
Port number: 9201
Server address: http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
Cnnect via: My Work Network
Sending size limitation: 100k
WAP version WAP 1.2
Ignore the last 3. The important ones are the server, gateway, and knowing to set the APN type to mms. I see no reason why this shouldn't work.
I am using the t mobile HTC HD2, I have it unlocked and running it for my at&t network. I have also started using the android program through my sim card, so basically my phone is running on the android interface. It works great, however i cannot access the internet nor send/receive picture messages. I need to figure out the VPN setting or Proxy setting for the at&t provider. Since at&t does not have this phone they are unable to help on where or how to do it.
Anyone got this same situation and figured it out?!
Please help, thanks

Found this with a quick Google search. Not sure if it's right but it was posted on this site. Try Googling AT&T edge settings.
Name: AT&T
APN: wap.cingular
Proxy: leave blank
Port: leave blank
Username:[email protected]
Password:CINGULAR1
Server: leave blank
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
MMS Port: 80
MCC:310
MNC:410
APN Type: leave blank
none of that worked...i do not know where i can even put some of that information into the phone
what about the VPN?
Why have a HD2 on AT&T?
You just dont get the benefits you should. . . .
My 2 Cents. . .
I'm using an AT&T sim card and T-Mobile as my $15/mo unlimited data provider.
I have no idea how the third party store did it, but it worked before I got rid of WM6.5.
After rooting it to HyperDroid-CM7-v2.1.0[a2sd+][CyanogenMod7 LEO 2.3.4], the APN defaults to ATT with no other option. I have manually inserted a combination of settings as follows:
Name: T-Mobile US
APN: epc.tmobile.com or wap.voicestream.com or
Proxy: 216.165.155.050 or 216.155.165.050
Port: 8080
MMSC: http ://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc or http: //216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
MMS Proxy: 216.165.155.050 or 216.165.155.50 or 216.155.165.50
MMS Port: 8080
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
After entering all that I either press the back key or the window key to save, but they always end up disappearing. One thing I noticed is if I don't change the MNC to 260 and leaving it at default (410), the APN I entered will stay selected. I selected and un-selected the Data enable option for each of the combination with no luck of access to the internet. Hitting reset to default would leave only ATT (wap.cingular) as the only option.
Long story short:
Using AT&T for minutes and T-Mobile for data.
Worked before rooting.
New APN settings disappear if is MNC: 260
Cannot access T-Mobile's data plan.
Side note:
Wi-fi still works
If anyone has any insight to this problem it would be much appreciated!
______________________________________________________________
Edit:
Turns out the third party store has me signed up for AT&T's $15 Unlimited Data Plan for Non-Smart Phones since the HD2 is not part of AT&T's smartphone selection.
Thanks for the help everyone!
Hello. I have no idea why your internet could have worked from the get-go. I have never heard of this setup before. All I can say are that the settings are OK but again, I dont understand how that could work. Sorry Im not more help.
That's fine. I was hoping to have this problem solved before resorting to go to the 3rd party store.
Sent from my HD2 using XDA App
maybe if you remove the AT&T APN completely (long press - delete) then enter in the t-mo one?
I just tried removing AT&T but the new settings don't stay whenever I change MNC to 260.
Here's a video of my phone:

Hello World,
[Edit] for those who find this to be a tl;dr situation just read the last section of what i have tried and please let me know if you can think of any unorthodox/ thinking out of the box method i have yet to imagine myself lol. thanks in advance
1st off:
Apologies if this is the umpteenthmillion thread on this, but i have been scowering the net and trying everything i can and i may have found my own answer possibly in that net10 is to blame and i am powerless to fix this. gonna post this as neatly as i can to avoid any confusion down the line
Problem:
Net10-AT&T side of the BYOP
can do everything except Download/ Receive MMS.
Current Stats:
Nexus 4 16g from Google play store
Stock 4.2.2 (never been rooted or had bootloader unlocked)
Net10 AT&T full size sim (cut to fit Micro size)
APN Stats:
NAME: net10
APN: tfdata
PROXY: not set
PORT: not set
USERNAME: not set
PASSWORD: not set
SERVER: not set
MMSC: [official net10 att mmsc]
MMS PROXY: mms3.tracfone.com
MMS PORT: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
AUTHENTICATION TYPE: not set
APN TYPE: not set
APN PROTOCOL: ipv4/ipv6
APN ROAMING PROTOCOL: ipv4/ipv6
APN ENABLE/ DISABLE: enabled
BEARER: unspecified
What i have tried:
-I have tried lots of changes to the mmsc and mms proxy.
-I have tried the trick posted on a couple fourms where you put in the net10 apn for T-Mobile and reboot, fiddle for a few, switch to the net10 AT&T apn and see if that works
-downloaded go sms and put in the mmsc and mms proxy info into the app manually
-tried go sms without the mmsc info put in manually
-ported my number from the AT&T micro sim to the AT&T full size sim (used a micro simcard cutter by noosy to make it fit)
-went into the stock messaging app settings and turned off auto retrive so i got the option to download the incoming MMS txt manually
-Talked to Net10 CS and the lady actually told me it could take up to 4 hours for it to work and that if it didn't that it was my phone
the only thing left i can think of is that im either completely boned with no hope or that there is a possible fix i havn't found yet that may require root such as possibly its the updated version of the messaging app and i could have to some how get an older version of it to replace it
please any and all ideas are encouraged!!! i will still be looking all over the web for a possible fix, if anymore information is needed please ask
Did you get any answers to this yet? I just activated my Net10 on ATT (no TMO at work).

Okay. So I just registered on this site because I've been scouring the interwebs for an answer and XDA has helped me a lot in the past. What I did was use the settings that net10 gave me, but instead used mms2.tracfone.com instead of mms3. This solved my MMS issue and now I can send and receive. Let me know if this doesn't work.
