Hi, im havin a problem configuring my hotmail through izymail.
Could anyone help?
Can't help you with your specific problems, but did you know Hotmail POP3 access is now free? (No IMAP though)
Ok. I've got to have imap support for my hotmail. That's why I paid for my izymail account.
Is yours a hotmail.com or co.uk as I had privacy with co.uk needed to change the settings from the preset ones.

Thats ok, I just thought I'd mention it incase you weren't aware
What problem specifically are you having with setting it up?
My mail is hotmail.com, not co.uk
I've tried to choose POP
Pop-server: in.izymail.com
Safety: none
Serverport: 110
Smtp: out.izymail.com
safety: none
serverport: 25 + 587
Edit.
It worked. Can now delete messages from server

Does that setup allow you to view your custom hotmail folders in HTC Mail client? From what I understand, you need to access via IMAP to have the folders be recognized and workable.

username n password keep on poping up..
Settings are:
Username: your complete email, including '@gmail.com'
incoming server: pop.gmail.com
outgoing server: smtp.gmail.com
Remember to enable pop3 access on the Settings panel in Gmail.
You have to use non-default port number for the SSL.
465 for outgoing
995 for incoming
so it's:
pop.gmail.com:995
smtp.gmail.com:465

ok I managed to retrieve my email but unfortunately I can't sending an email. so any idea?
Come to think of it, I was having this issue early on as well. I just used a different outgoing server to send my mails. Luckily my carrier provides a free email and I simply used their outgoing server settings for the gmail account and everything worked after that. If you have another mail account that works try setting the outgoing mail server on your gmail account to the other working server.
how if I dont have any. But why is it? Why gmail outgoing is not working?
My gmail is working fine on my jam. I don't use any special port numbers either. You need to go to the advanced section in account setup and select SSL and also check the authentication on send box. That worked for me.
Sometimes being connected with activesync can cause an email account to get blocked because the PC has been collecting emails.
Gmail working fine for me too, used EmailWiz to set it up. Newer version even includes gmail so takes about 30 secs (early version needed a couple more details). Might be worth deleting your current account and trying?
As you're receiving mail I guess you've turned the proxy settings on with your gmail account, that got me first time I tried.
It seems that this is a little known fact that msn / Hotmail pop3 access can be gained using these settings.
I find that K9 Mail works better than the standard email app.
Incoming:
Username: [email protected]
Password: your password
POP server: pop3.live.com
Port: 995
Security type: SSL (always)
Outgoing:
SMTP server: smtp.live.com
Port: 25 / 587
Security type: TLS (always)
Username: [email protected]
Password: your password
When i first set an account up it brings back some blank mail, which i delete after that it works fine.

not sure if this still works but back in december you could get your existing hotmail.com account linked by changing your location to Australia and using default settings.
I just set it up as an account to import from on my GMail and its working great so far. Over 10k messages imported and now I have a decent junk mail filter and can see when I get an email in a timely fashion rather than having to remember to login to hotmail every once in a while.
i'm in US..it worked good. thanx for tip
Thread revival! I've put in the above settings but my phone doesn't seem to want to connect with the hotmail account. Yet its accepted the settings. I go to launch the mail app, the little refresh icon spins but no emails come up (even though I know I have unread emails waiting for me). Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

Just had the same issue with my Hotmail.co.uk in K9, everything had been working up until the last couple of days, no changes had been made.
I had tried re-entering the fetching mail details, which it accepted, but still no mail was being fetched.
I managed to fix it by:
- From the account summary page, tap & hold on the account
- Choose 'Advanced'
- Choose 'Recreate data (last resort)'
NOTE: This will wipe any existing mails from the chosen K9 account & recreate the account profile.
All my emails then came flooding in
works!!! thanx
I got tired of having to look them up everytime I flashed a rom. Plus I figure some other people might need it as well. So here are the Free Yahoo Mail setting for use here in the US.
Type in your email address and password
Select "Manual"
Select IMAP
Change the IMAP server address to
imap.mail.yahoo.com
Port
143
Security Type
None
Select "Next"
Change the SMTP server address to
smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
Port
587
Security Type
None
Check
Require sign-in.
Select "Next"
finish up the rest of the setup as normal.
Note: These settings are for the stock email app that comes with the android OS.
(ty Britoso for pointing out I neglected to mention this)
Also, yahoo free email only works through your service providers data connection, will not work via wifi
(ty thepawn for reminding me)
===================================
I hope this helps a few people
It worked! Thank You....so much more convenient than going to browser and going into yahoo site.
thanks, but all I get in my yahoo inbox now (opened in 1997) is spam

I'd like to add (for ppl like me) that these settings are for the "Email" app that comes with your phone.
Just FYI, the IMAP settings will NOT work over WiFi, only mobile networks.
The other thing that you can do is login into the Yahoo Canada website and enable the POP3 and SMTP server - it's free.

previously i had been using pop instead of imap. the only difference is select pop instead of imap during setup, and use pop.mail.yahoo.com
try that and let me know if it works for you
Don't settle for pop3, when IMAP works with talk21 and not only does mail get pushed out faster with IMAP, but when you click refresh it will be received faster than pop3.
The other advantage is subfolders are also supported with IMAP but cant be seen with POP3.
This mail feature works with my android eclair & hero phone and the settings are exactly the same for win mobiles also (not tested). The mail setting up roadmap is the same from what i can remember once in the mail feature for win mobi.
This is what you need to do to setup Talk21 email with IMAP.
Incoming server settings
IMAP server - imap.mail.yahoo.com
Port - 143
Security type - none
Outgoing Server settings
SMTP server - smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Port - 25
Security type - none
Also important note - Enable 'require sign-in'
and enter your talk21 username and password
The End...works a treat for me
p.s. Its only taken me 3 years to work it out with win mobile and recently with android. Finally got it to work...hope this helps all the talk21 users out there. if there are any other similar posts out there with no answer...dont forget to mention my name when passing this post around.
RichPie and Tej2020 are both right. Thanks for those posts on the differing forums.
I also found though that some of the older talk21 accounts no matter if you follow those instructions still don't validate the username.
Solution:
Login to your BT Yahoo email account with your [email protected] username and password.
Go to settings and forward your mail (temporarily) to another email account.
You will get a verification email in that account for security.
You'll probably see that the username is not [email protected] but [email protected]
Now here's the trick.
Go back to your BT Yahoo email.
Don't forget to disable the forwarding of email (otherwise you'll never get any new emails in this account).
Logout.
Now try logging in as [email protected] and your usual password.
Same account right?
Follow RichPie's instructions (below) for allowing the email to be POP'ed.
1./ Log into you talk21.com account:
options
Mail options
POP3 & Forwarding
click on "allow forwarding"
Save.
Now in your phone setup your email with
Setting up the mail use these:
Incoming Mail (POP3) Server - mail.btinternet.com
Port - 110
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - mail.btinternet.com
Port - 25
and crucially, the username and password must be [email protected] with your password as this seems to be a migrated username/password combination on the migration of the talk21 accounts into Yahoo and is a popp'able account.
This should work.
Hi guys,
It took a lot of forums research in order to find a solution to working Yahoo Mail in the unified inbox for Android Froyo 2.2. This is tested and 100% working, both over WIFI & 3G.
If you want to have imap yahoo mail in Froyo, these are the settings:
Incoming settings:
IMAP Server: android.imap.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 993
Security type: SSL
IMAP Path prefix: [leave this blank]
Outgoing settings:
SMTP Server: android.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 465
Security type: SSL
Make sure the box is ticked for 'Require sign-in'
Also, if you use the default setup for your hotmail account you will not be getting push email or IMAP, just POP3 email which is annoying for some people.
In order to get true push email + IMAP for HOTMAIL use this settings:
Incoming settings:
Enter your email account and password
Do no hit next, instead click Manual Setup
Chose Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync
In the Domain\Username field: delete everything and enter your email address
In the Server field: enter m.hotmail.com
Keep the box ticked for 'Use secure connection (SSL)' and keep the box unticked for 'Accept all SSL certificates'
Hit Next
