Changing file premissions

Hello,
Today i flashed the new froyo firmware and cant write anything on my external sd card if i connect it to the pc. I rooted the phone and downloaded root explorer, but i cant manage to change the premissions of the internal sd and external sd card.
I however can change permissions to other files so the app and root is working fine.
Does it have something to do with the firmware or with my phone... i have no clue anymore. I am nearly desperate and about to downgrade to some older rom. Saw some other guys posting same problem but noone seemed to care. I am opening a new thread as my 2 questions didn't get answered in the development section under the froyo debate...
Please again if anyone is so kind to reveal the secret to this i am sure many people will be happy...
tnx again and sorry for spamming but as i sad i am loosing my hopes

There has been a big forum announcement on every single section aswell as front page news about posting topics in teh dev sections and yet you STILL post a topic like this in here????
And to answer your question there is very simple guides to follow, even with pictures and if they fail you there is guide son how to do it via MAGLDR, go use search of look at some topic titles dude, the truth is out there

[Q] Need help with installing a rom

I want to install the MAGDLR version of this ROM, MccMBoxmaX GS V8 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1038694) and i cannot figure how to install the thing without having the DAF file such as the one in this video at 7:15 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvS4EvS0PAw). Please if someone can help it would be greatly appreciated. Also i realize that there are better places for this to be posted, but XDA won't let me post anywhere else more relevant.
That's an SD card rom, not a flashable rom, hence being in the android SD development section. You want the android nand development section. Keep researching, you aren't there yet.
Doesn't MAGLDR mean that it is a flashable rom? Also if it is only a SD card rom is all i do is drag and drop the rom onto the SD card root and im done? Could you possibly point me in the direction of a tutorial on how to do this or give me instructions that are better than the one on the thread? Thank you for your reply
I've never used SD android, but as far as I know you drop the rom in "android" folder on SD then in magldr theres a setting to choose the default SD folder to start from, or you can boot SD android by running haret from within winmo.,,,, or something,,,
Go to the SD section, first thread "sticky roll up thread",which as it's name suggests is a roll up of all the guides and howtos you could ever want.
You, also, have to have the proper "rootfs" file to run it with magldr, otherwise running it with Windows Mobile is fine. Read the OP of that ROM or search through it, it was probably mentioned.
Good luck!!!

Help...with MAGLDR

Hello everybody here, anyone can help me with my problem.

Your SD Card is probably locked by WP7.
So you need to format it.
go to wp7 section and read some threads there
Thanks for your help. After i format and back to partition to ext3..it still the same????Do u know which wp7 thread i should find to solve this problem bro???

If you had bothered to read the roms information properly you wouldn't be in this situation.
Depending on which rom you used you may have to format your sdcard with a Nokia N series or other compatible device that can overwrite encrypted section of card.
There is also a WP7 app that can do it.
Go read the roms thread you got the rom from, All the info you need is in there or on google.
