Problem:exchange-Active sync: account information not found - Dash 3G, Snap General

Anybody experiencing this problem:
snap(wm6.1) can't sync with exchange: account information not found error 85002009. qtek 9100 wm6.1 same error. qtek wm6.5 no problem. Bug in 6.1 or combi with exchange? Error points to nothing special, can't even find this error at MS.com.

did you check the certificate?
dont ask me how, i just read that someone had an issue with "account information not found" and they had mentioned that there wasn't a certificate from their exchange server.

I read several topics(I have read a lot) pointing in this direction. A few hours back I installed the certificate as described in a manual pointing at activesync issues. No luck. And in fact, why would a "unofficial" 6.5 work without those certificates? But it does. So tonight I flash my snap to 6.5. And see what it brings.

Installing third party certificates on WM5 (MDA Vario)

Don't know if anybody is having the same problem as me.
We have an M$ Exchange server which I use for work. We've not bought verified certificates as we don't need to. WM5 doesn't allow me to install our wilcard certificate onto my MDA Vario. I've tried various methods posted in different forums:
Changing the registry HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\00001017 from 128 to 144. I also changed 00001001 to 1 and 00001005 to 40 but i dont think that helped.
My certificate is still not recognised!
Anybody have a solution?
Will
willcheng,
If you got W2003 server and Exchange 2003 then you don't have to buy certificates you make your own.
Installing these in WM5 is easy, just copy them to your device and they will be installed after clicking on them.
Please let me know if you have w2003 and Exchange 2003 then I will let you know how to do it.
But if you have an M$ drive on your server I thing you are using Exchange 2000 or 2003 on witch you can add the M drive.
I'm using w2003 with Exchange 2003 and the certificate is working wonderful.
Cheers,
Drifter
You need to install the root certificate not the one that was issued to the Exchange server. What CA issued the certificate for your Exchange server? Install that certificate. If you are using MS Certificate Services you can just go http://<CA Server Name/certsrv and download the root certificate or the chain. You can then just copy them to your device and click on them and they should automaticaly import. If it is not installing then what type of certificate are you trying to install? If it is not X.509 you need to convert it to X.509. Also I had this problem installing on a locked Sprint Phone on WM 2003. I had to use this.
SPAddCert.exe

Microsoft Global Contact Access

Can't make mine work. Followed the instructions (I think) ... can't connect to mail server error. My OMA works in addition to my DP.
Confused ... but what else is new????
Anyone had success?
Thanks!

Windows Mobile 6.1 problems with exchange sync

Hello,
i hope you can help me.
Always when i use a german windows mobile 6.1 rom i can't sync with our exchange server (2007 SP1). Error Code: 85010013
With Windows Mobile 6.0 it works fine, but 6.1 failed. I have tested 3-4 rom's and all have the same problem.
I cant' sync over USB an over UMTS. Both the same error.
Does anybody now something over this problem?
hello, this error means that security policy has not been applied to your profile. therefore you cannot sync any data with xchange server. also it can mean that few windows components is missing in that specific rom. Did you uploaded and installed the certificate from your xchange server? it is file with extension .CER. if not, then ask your local administrator. if the problem still persist, try to directly contact some of the cooks in here, they know about this problem.
bye.

Problem to log on a specific wifi network

Hi everybody! I've searched for a problem like mine here but I didn't find it, so I'm openning a new thread. I hope it's ok to do that!
I'm having some trouble trying to connect to the wifi network at the hospital I work. I tried to follow the intructions they gave, but these instructions are for desktop computers and notebooks and they have steps that I don't know how to follow in my blackstone. The instructions are the following (for windows XP):
-add a new network with the name: wifiuel
-choose WPA2 autentication
-choose AES cryptography
-choose PEAP access, go to properties and uncheck all options. Also, at autentication method EAP-MSCHAPv2, click on configure and uncheck the option to use the logon's name and password automaticly.
There are a few more steps, but from this last one I can´t go on. When I tap on the properties buton on my blackstone, I get the following warning: "Cannot log on to the wireless network. This network requires a personal certificate to positively identify you."
In case you just didn't understand the steps because of my poor english, here´s a link to them, but this link is for the windows vista configuration (I chose it because it is mainly in english and it has many screenshots, so I think all of you can understand it): http://www.uel.br/ati/suporte/pages/configuracao-wifi-uel/windows-vista-us.php
Any ideas of how I can solve this problem?
I'm runnig Dutty's Leo Holy Grail R0 rom, with WM6.5 and I can log on just fine in other networks.
Thanks in advance!!!
Hi,
just trying to help u.
in your case, maybe you need some sort of certificate like you stated above. Go ask your IT service/help desk on where you can get one.
Or maybe you need to register your device (WLAN Mac address or you need to use fix IP). For this, you also need to ask help from your IT service to register your device to their list, so that u can connect to their wifi network.
Not much help, but u can try them
Oh, thanks, I was going to do that anyway, but I though someone here could help me or indicate some wifi utility that could handle those steps to configure my network.
Well, thanks for your attention!
Moved as not software release...
Hey, I've got some news
I have some new facts to tell you guys and see if you can help me. First, I discovered that when I just ignore the warning that I get when I click on properties, I get another message saying that the server certificate is issued by an unknown autority and it couldn't be validated. Then I finally talked to the support staff at the hospital and they said that they don't use any certificates at all. No personal nor server certificates are needed. So I guess that the problem is with Windows Mobile, which is asking for certificates when they're not needed.
Is there any way to command WM to not ask for a certificate when logging on a particular network, because I believe this could be the solution for my problem!
Thanks in advance!!!

[21 Feb 2011] [Q] Android Exchange Accnt Setup Error

I've read and searched and Googled but I can't find an answer
I recently flashed my first Android NAND ROM: "CMYLXGOroms.Stock.Desire.HD.v1.1.4.1n.NAND.RMNET.NO-SQUASH-RAFPIGNA.1.7OC_CWM.zip".
Everything went smoothly and it all looks good except I cannot complete the Exchange ActiveSync account.
DETAILS:
1. I'm hosting my own Exchange server -2003
2. My SSL cert is self-generated from my own MS Cert Authority
3. I can view my OWA account via the native web browser w/o issue
4. My settings "appear" to be fine as I can reach the very end of the setup wizard. (If I change any of the ActiveSync account settings to an invalid option - say add an extra character to the server address - I receive an error when I click on "Next")
ISSUE:
1. On the last step of the setup wizard, when I click on "Finish setup" I receive the error:
"Failed to created the account. Please try again later."
QUESTIONS/THOUGHTS:
1. How to you import a SSL Cert in Android?
2. I've read about "Accept All SSL Certificates" dialog box you can check but I don't see one during the setup wizard - only the "This server requires an encrypted SSL connection". Is this a legacy setting or something that is hidden by HTC's SenseHD or? Is there anyway to access this option?
3. I've tried both checking and un-checking the "This server requires an encrypted SSL connection" - both give me the same failed result.
OTHER TROUBLESHOOTING:
1. I know this works as I've been successfully using Activesync with WinMo 6.1 & 6.5 on my wife's TouchPro2 and this works fine w/ the stock WinMo 6.5. So it's not a bad config on the back-end.
2. I tried installing Touchdown to see if that would work and I cannot get that to work either.
I'm getting really frustrated - any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
thnx
UPDATE:
I spent all day:
1. Creating a new DNS A record to point directly to my OWA server
2. Upgrading my SSL cert to an offical third-part cert from startssl.com (great service for free BTW)
3. Figuring out how to export/import/modify that cert to be installed on Android
I now have a nice DNS record that points to my OWA server (vs. the old DynDNS pointer) and I appreciate the SSL cert for free find, but I'm still ready to loose it over the lack of ActiveSync support.
Anybody have any idea if this is potentially a ROM issue and I should try another? Or is this a Froyo issue and I should try Gingerbread?
TIA
