I've set my clock to autoupdate whenever I change time zones and it has decided to go crazy when returning to UK... all other countries are fine... when I come back home, the phone auto sets to Jerusalem (GMT +2) and it screws with ALL my calendar info... does anyone else have this problem?
Is it just that the networks in the UK aren't broadcasting the correct info?
I hade the exact same problem. I was sure I had a meeting, but the phone said no. double checking and the phone was wrong. Checked timezone and I too had somehow gotten Jerusalem (GMT+2). And I'm in Norway and not the UK. But I did recently travel to Denmark and back (which is same time zone as Norway).
Bug in Windows Mobile or just a fluke?
Mine does same thing each time i change the timezone he return to GMT+2 don't know if it's a probleme with exchange server or activesync or Windows Mobile

Phone signal is not come (it display !), when I started my HTC Touch HD. I have to touch Phone button, then phone signal will come.
How do I solve this problem?
Hasn't anybody got this problem?
Have you always had this problem? Have you recently installed new software? Or flashed new rom? What has changed on phone recently?
Thanks for interesting my problem.
It happens every time when my phone is restarted, the phone app is not started automatically.
It started to happen after I went to Connection Setup and selected Country to UK, Operator to Orange and touched OK button (I'm not in UK).
Before that Country and Operator were blank (not selected), but I couldn't make it to not selected as before.

Depending on what rom your using this path may be slightly different, but go to settings > connection settings > connection setup and you should be able to choose country & operator
Hello all,
After going on a holiday I have found that the time on my PC and PDA are out of sync! Have disabled the sync with network, but when a add a calnder item on the PC and it sync with activsyn it is out by 1 hour!! The time on the PC and PDA are the same its just that in the apps (spb, and Pocket Informant) they are out by 1 hour. Looks like a hard reset is in order but if an easy way can be found please help!!
Thanks to all!
...experimenting
OK it looks as if the server that the PDA "syncs" to is not correct and syncing the wrong time for Perth Australia....probably has to do with western Australia reverting back so as not to have daylight savings anymore.
I say this as I did a hard reset and the PDA is still 1 hour ahead (even though you pick Perth as being 8+ hrs).
Could someone else try setting their PDA temporarily to Perth time and seeing if it comes out correctly with their time zone?? ....just to let me know I'm not crazy!! How/who can you advise saying that the activsync "sync clock" is not correct???
Anyone who wants to help...much appreciated!!!
Does anyone else have trouble with their Telus HTC Hero getting the complete wrong location (or being completely unable to determine a location)? This is with GPS off using Google Location Services.
In Oshawa, it can't find my location, in Woodbridge is thinks I'm in Espoo, Finland, and in North York it thought I was in Georgetown, Guyana. Driving on the 407 it thought I was in Malaysia. Sometimes the phone gets the location correct in these areas, too, but most of the time the location is either unavailable or wrong. If GPS is on it all works perfectly.
Calling Telus results in them telling me they've never heard of this problem before (also that I'm their first call about the HTC Hero, lol). Calling HTC resulted in them telling me that this was expected as the Telus network was new and Google was still working on their location services database with the new networks here.
Therefore, I'm asking to see if anyone else has a similar issue (especially in the same general area) and if not, what could possibly me wrong on my end.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Yup, same problem here on the west coast. According to the phone I am a well traveled man, from Vancouver to some where in Croatia, to Finland, and last night Dublin. Maybe my phone want to go out and see the world?
Yeah same here. I was in some weird places apparently and actually right now I'm in Tanjong Karang. Last night my timezone changed as well, not sure why. It should have been syncing to the network, unchecking/checking the sync to network fixed it though.
OT: Do you guys ever have your browser give an apache error? Yet all other apps continue to work? I have this fairly often and I have to turn off the radio competely and turn it back on to fix it. Really annoying.
Yeah I get the apache error too. It seems to be the homepage of the browser.
Mine works fine usually on the Rogers network - but they've had the iPhone for a while which uses network locational services as well so I guess they've got most of the glitches out. The worst I've had is when it just says "current city" but the temperature reporting looks fine.
Mine (on Rogers) works fine in Alberta - never had a wrong location.
The Rogers network is already very well established so I can't say as though I'm surprised.
First of all I'm using a Topaz with the standard 6.5 ROM. Everything worked fine.
Now I'm want to update my weather and it gives me another weather forecast. Overhere in Holland it's about 4 celsius and the forecast is saying it's 24 celsius. I've also notice that the time is about three hours later then mine local time. Is there a problem with the HTC Europe server? He's updating Bangkok, the clock flip backs to GMT+7 Bangkok, Hanoi. I'm Amsterdam GMT +1. Did several soft resets but that doesn't matter either.
Lately I've installed Gaz TD 2 tools.

Connect to WiFi and see if that fixes it.
WiFi sucks at my place so I've linked my device to my pc. Run active sync and tried. Still the same :S
Take a look in your phone settings, maybe you have checked the automatic change of hour zone and clock, when I have this activated Vodafone mess it up an give a strange location and hour.
I know about that and I've allready checked it out.

I appreciate your help, thanks
If I select a location nearbye it won't give any troubles. The time is right and the weahter prediction is correct.
A couple of days ago I went outside and tried to update the weahter forecast. Same problem, same time GMT +7. After that, I went to work some kilometers (10km) furhter then my place. Tried the samething and it update the time and weather forecast just the right way. After work I went to my girlfriends place, also updated the weather, still no problems.
Today back home I thougt lets update the weather forecast. And yes it was messed up again. GMT +7 again, etc, etc. Still no news from HTC. Thats strange because normally they reply verry quick.
Maybe is something related to the TD2 Tools, Have you asked in that thread?; try to uninstall, or, more radical, back up of your data and Hard Reset...
I met with similar problem, probably diamond recieved wrong information about position from gsm network (your provider has bad geographical data on bts). Try to use only gps to set your location at home.

sorry for my bad english...try this, change phone settings to off, phone will not take position from network, in the waether panel choose option my location. Of course diamond has to be connected to internet.
additional question, if you set your location manualy, weather is ok? I had in our network (vodafone) on my place some town from asia...

What do you mean by setting the location manualy.
So I have to turn off my phone in comm manager. Still link my phone to my pc?

yes, in comm manager and phone must be connected via wifi or pc to internet just to receive weather data from server. In this case phone will use gps to set your location.
manually...I mean, you can set your town in option "add new town" in weather panel, if you receive wrong data from gsm netwok there must be a difference between automatic location received via network and your manual entry.
Okay I've seen that. I'll try when I'm back home.
My city isn't in the list but I've added some city's nearbye and they updsted correctly.
Got some screen shots made with shake and save. First I had this only in my home town. Now I've got it some kilometers further at my girls place. Also have been e-mailing with htc. They told me it's about the gms not gps. It updates good with only gps when I turned the phone of in comm manager.

As I tried to explain...I think the problem is because phone updates its position from positioning system in gsm network (LBS=Location-based-Service). Bts could have wrong location information or there could be some problem with compatibility with phone and network etc. Some other services provided by your operator are based on LBS usually on wap portal (place of nearest ATM, petrol station. etc.), try to use some and see the result.

Yes I know that you explain about the GPS. Just saying I've tested it
Still e-mailing with HTC. I've also e-mailed Vodafone NL because they are about the GSM-pole.
For some reason - despite working fine previously, my phone has decided, whilst sitting on my desk here in South East London (UK), that it would rather be elsewhere. It therefore now states that it is in Austin, Texas, and has adjusted the time accordingly. Hence my morning alarms are going off.
I can open google maps and it finds me (after a moment) in South East London.
This appaears to then bring th phone to its senses and it comes back to London time etc.
Leave it alone on my desk for a while and I am back in Texas!
Anyone got any ideas whats going on?
Well, the old adage of turn it off and turn it on again did not help.
However, I noticed that I left the wifi on this morning, and I have the box ticked to allow it to find locations using wifi as well. Have unticked that box and so far (only 5 minutes tho) there is no sign of texas......
Did you check to make sure its not just a case of the HTC clock app being set to the wrong time zone? Might also want to toggle off/on the option to set the time zone automatically using network settings, and see what happens.
Thanks for the suggestion - my adjustment re using wifi to find location seems (so far) to have fixed it. Perhaps someone near my office is using a wifi network with the same name as one in Texas......
Lol that is weird. Perhaps they were vpn'd or tunnelled into a network originating in texas. Maybe its the government, intercepting their internet traffic! Quite weird indeed lol, glad its fixed.
