Anyone got the HTC diagnostics program for the blackstone?
Mine keeps resetting, even after stock rom flashed,
but I can get to the bootloader. Suspect some hardware fault.

Have you tried flashing a different rom to see if resetting problem persists?
Yes,
Gets to the smart mobility screen then resets repeatedly.
Was working but got wet. Have dried it out but now not booting.
was running Black Pearl 3 rom with no probs. Got wet & dried out.
not booting past splash screen so got to boot loader and flashed from pc back to stock rom from htc site.
Flash completed OK but same issue.
obviously usb and comms ok but cant boot os.
Was hoping to try diags to see where problem lies.

My Touch HD doesnt respond, it hangs and restarts itself all the time. Today it chrashed totally and I cant start it no more. It comes to the text "smart mobility" then the softwareinfo in the right lower corner pops up and nothing more happens..
I cant do a hardreset. (tried with volumebuttons and powerbutton at the same time)
I cant upgrade the software..
Anyone had this issue before?
Servicecentre?
Sad times...
Cokey,
Can you even put it into the bootloader mode?
Cheers.
Ehrm, whats bootloader mode?
hold vol down, and press power on (keep holding volume down until screen comes on)
you should see a screen of 3 coloured bars
if you can do this, you should be also able to do hard reset. for a hard reset make sure you hold both the volume buttons down, and keep them held after you press power on
Tom
Okey, havent tried that yet. But hardreset wont work, with both volumekeys and power on...
I've just tried that bootloader mode and that works but a hardreset isnt working. It starts up as written above then the display fades out a bit. Nothing more happens...
Darn it...

Cokey,
All is not lost, don't worry. If you can get into Bootloader mode, then you will be able to flash a new ROM onto it. Go to the ROM section and follow crackwhore's very detailed guide.
Have fun flashing!
Cheers.

All seems ok with it right now... Will leave it on over the night so Im sure it wont hang/restart again..
Again thx for the help..
(Flashing is something I wanna try but I really want my OS to be in Swedish )
I have the same issues. I am constantly reflashing the ROM because the phone will not last more than a day before being stuck on the Smart Mobility screen.
I have been flashing all of Dutty's different ROMs including LEO R4 and WM 6.5 R14 Turbo, WM 6.1 etc every day for the past week. It still freezes daily and when reboot, it gets stuck on Smart Mobility Screen. I am ready to throw it in the bin!
Anyone got any ideas. Flashing ROMs isn't working or fixing it as I have tried all sorts. I have also upgraded the Radio yesterday, still doesn't help. Tried also a new SD card, again, still freezes.

Have you tried reverting back to stock rom to see if problem persists? If so, return device under warranty
J,
USPL or HSPL? Do you install any applications, or do you leave it as it is and it still crashes in a day?
Cheers.

No luck
I think my warranty is out the window when I tampered with the screws and broke the VOID Warranty sticker.
I have used both USPL and HSPL and same issues occurs. I think I have narrowed it down... if I don't touch the onboard memory, ie not install anything to the onboard memory or touch it too much in that area, then it will tend to be okay. It starts to freeze and lock up at Smart Mobility Screen whenever I copy stuff or active sync etc.... so far anyway.
Looks like its going in the bin... last resort tomorrow, revert back to stock rom and see how long it lasts.
Any advise or help would be appreciated. My hd2 will not boot. Gets stuck on the the white htc screen. Tried flashing standard rom and Android. They all say succesful then when I boot it stops. Even tried loading it from the SD
Even stuck it into the local phone shop, took a week to tell me its f*** not sure if they knew what they were doing.
Anybody know anywhere that specialises in them.
did u check ur hspl??
Hi, I have reurned it back to stock by flashing the std rom.
Then flashed HSPL. MAGDLR and radio, still no joy.
Then flashed back the standard rom. Still the HTC screen

Do you happen to know what radio you have? As what you are experiencing is sometimes called a stuck radio. Also has your HD2 been getting warmer thaan usual?
its not bricked. people really should learn that term, a bricked phone wont turn on

I agree the word bricked gets used way too much here. If the phone will turn on and start to boot up or if you can still access the default multicolor bootloader the HD2 is not bricked and in all likely hood can be fixed via software adjustments. If the HD2 will not give you access to the multicolor bootloader then it is bricked and will need a JTAG or the mainboard replaced.
I have got to admit though it has been a rash of people posting here for the last month or so with the exact problem the OP has of the HD2 getting stuck at the HTC screen. Some or a result of thermal breakdown of the connections between the CPU and the main board, but these people should know this is their problem as their HD2 will get very warm or hot to the touch around the area of the mainboard.
I've been using Android NAND for a while with no problems but the other day I struggled getting into bootloader. Eventually (for no obvious reason) it went in and I flashed the shipped rom. I tried bootloader again but no dice. Then I made the fatal error of flashing HSPL again only to get stuck on the O2 screen. I can't get any further.
I can't connect to the pc because it doesn't see anything and I can't get it onto bootloader to flash anything else. I've tried everything I can think of bar JTAG (which is out of my league) and I'm supposed to be sending it back to HTC tomorrow for a repair.
Question is, will HTC see HSPL installed without access to the bootloader and, if they do, will they tell me where to shove it?
..tried searching everywhere before starting a new thread...

How did you flash shipped if you couldn't get into bootloader?
You're doing vol-down and power on right? If you get a splash you should be able to get into bootloader, because SOMETHING is telling your splash to show up.
Try putting the correct shipped on your SD and power up with vol down.
I think they will be able to tell that you modified it.
Thanks for the quick response. I'll try it again with the sd card. The only thing I can think is that the battery died on me almost as soon as I tried the sd card shipped rom. I saw the bootloader for a second and then the phone went off. When I charged it back up, no bootloader...
The problem is I've tried so many things, I'm struggling remembering the exact order of my screw up. I have a feeling after the battery died and I couldn't get it into bootloader, HSPL was working and I flashed the stock rom using USB flash.

Well, I've seen lots of warnings about having your battery greater than 50% while flashing, which (obviously) means that if your device has run out of juice while flashing could lead to unrepairable (by end-user) issues .
Try orangekid's advice and report back.

when flashing from SD, SPL and radio are the first 2 things it flashes afaik, so power out right when you started flashing could be a serious issue.
Hopefully what I said above works though, if your SPL is completely fubar I have no idea what HTC will say, what I would tell them if you try to RMA is you had problems with random reboots and did a hard-reset, then when it started flashing it just turned off for no reason and now it's weird or something like that so they think it was a regular stock hard reset thing and not a "oh **** I have to restore to factory cuz I have HSPL on here" thing.
Ok, so I tried about 10 more times with no joy - at least it's consistently broken now.
Thanks guys, just hoping for an 11th hour rescue. I'll send it off tomorrow and report back the outcome with HTC. I appreciate your help. I knew the lack of charge and flashing via bootloader was going to trip me up one day.
Was HTC able to bring the phone back to its original state or were you able to do something to get the issue fixed? I have the same problem. All I did was to load prj Clean Desire v0.3.2 ROM (this ROM is the same as Cotulla's but with few fixes). This was the first time I ever attempted loading an Android ROM on to my HD2. All looked well initially. The phone was rebooted after ROM was installed. I did intial setup like facebook acct, email, wi-fi, gprs, etc. Then after few hours, the menu button (windows button in HD2) and back button quit working. Even the power button when pressed for few seconds wouldn't bring up the power off and other options. I thought a soft reset would fix it and then I pulled the battery off and restarted. All I now get is the first boot screen with "123456...go.go.go..." and then a white screen with HTC on it. Nothing more. It is stuck there. I tried getting in to bootloader, but I couldn't. Holding down the volume-down and then pressing the power button just restarts the phone as mentioned above and takes me to the HTC screen. Not sure how can I get to the bootloader. Desperately looking for help....
My 1.3 focus is stuck in the Samsung logo screen. It lloks like it is in an endless reboot as the logo will go away for a moment then reappear.
I am able to get the phone into Download and Format mode with out issue.
I have also been able to succesfully reflash the original firmware without issue, but the same result none the less.
Any ideas on this?
I had put the mi7 ROM on which worked fine. This morning phone was stuck on the logo. I reflashed the mi7 without issue as well before trying the original Samsung ROM
Hi Guys
i have this same problem with my focus its also ver 1.3
i had an error on the mango update (usb cable bad apparently) according to the code, and after the failed update the phone was acting stupid and cutting out when it wants so i flashed the phone with the rogers rom, and it worked fine attempted to do the mango update again in a diff usb port and got the same error so i went to reflash the phone again so i could get my mate to try his cable the flash seemed to go through with no issues until the first reboot, then instead of getting the connect to computer screen i just got the samsung logo flashing up then restarting and flashing the samsung logo again i have tryed to flash again with diff versions of the tool and original rom and rogers rom many times but still get the same thing the only strange thing is that i cant get into the hard reset mode i can get into download mode fine but not format it just flashes back to the same flashing samsung screen Please Help or is the phone Buggered at a wild guess iv got a problem with the internal memory ??? Lost and need help
same here, please help

I see. You're the 4th person I encounter having this problem after flashing magldr. You should ask in the magldr thread. I'm not sure if it's really magldr related but I don't see anything else that could cause it...
Make sure you specify there your revision(3/4)/ as well as OS version.
Ok so I mean I wanna say i'm proud of myself for getting as far as I did. I had a HD2 running on a NRG Energize rom. The touch screen was unresponsive so I got that fixed at a repair shop. Then it was having a problem booting and kept going thru this boot loop showing me NRG Energize over n over. I tried to run the t-mobile upgrade to the 3.14 but it got stuck at 8% and wouldn't go passed that. I ended up doing the extraction thing when u rename the nbh file to leoimg and got the phone to run the upgrade from that. I thought all my problems would be solved but the phone started up and as i was setting up my e-mail and stuff it froze and restarted. now its stuck on this stick together boot loop... I don't know what to do next, all i'm trying to do i get this phone working even if its at a stock capacity. Any thoughts i should do now?
So what i'm getting from searching the forums so far is that when i get back to the phone i should check the battery pins? can anyone confirm this? Cause the phone starts up but it'll freeze and reboot or just hit the bootloop from the time i turn it on. keeps stopping.
Yea battery pins should be the first check.
