Hi guys,
I got a dialer from here, that looks really great but it has a bug and each time I try to go from keypad to call status it just freezes andI have to reboot.
So I decided I would go back to my original one but I cannot find it. I was wondering if someone had one I could use. I don't have any specific reqyurement other than I want the number to be very visible when I dial (the dialer that came with the ROM I have was dark on dark when I dialed and I could not see anything if I was outside.)
Thanks!

iDialer (See Installation Instructions Below)
How to Install:
Download and install THIS CAB.
Restart your phone after installing, and then your dialer button will be linked to iDialer!
If you want the bottom tabs (as seen in the screenshot), then you must also install iContact.
I modified the iDialer CAB to include GreenButton, so then when you press the physical Phone button, it'll open iDialer! Please tell me if it's necessary to do step 3. I don't have a SIM in my phone, so I can't test it!
So how do you config this? Are you supposed to select North America for the first option and then generate the cab? It says it "helps you easily configure iDialer v0.5," but it doesn't give much explanation as to what the options are for or what they do.

Yea, idk, lol.
Tony, tell me this.
Have you installed anything iDialer related on your phone yet? If you have, then can you tell me if it's necessary to go through that "configuration" thing for the phone to dial out? If you haven't done anything yet, then go to #2.
Since you haven't done anything yet, look 2 posts from above here. Right below the screenshot, I have instructions. Follow those, and before going to step 3, see if iDialer calls out and works properly. If it doesn't call out, then tell me that it doesn't, and then try step 3.
And look 2 posts above for directions on how to install it, caribbean_spur.

1. No, I haven't. I'm running illconcepts Back2Basics Beta with the dialer he put in it.
2. Since I haven't done anything, I installed the first cab, but it's not working, even after a soft reset. I press the call button, nothing. It doesn't even show up anywhere in my phone except the installed programs list. Wtf?
Thnaks,I will try that!

I assume you are on a different ROM, most likely not even the same build. That's probably why you had success and I didn't. Maybe I can talk ill into working it into one of his ROMs...

What bugs do you observe ? I'd really like to try it ...
And when you say it has a SpeedDial function, what exactly does it do different from the stock SpeedDial (press a digit for 3 secs) ?
Finally, if you had to uninstall it, what do one have to do ? easy ? (thanks)

Smartdialing doesnt work
And I think you cant call 911 (I never tried) and 911 GPS is also disabled (how do you really know for sure?..)
I too have truly enjoyed it. I was using it before I upgrade to vogue on my ppc-6700 and still wasn't correctly then. Still I lived with it but not on Vogue. But if these bugs were fixed then I would definitely switch!
So if any could make it work, I would greatly appreciate
Since iFonz and iPhone themes started making there way onto our ppc's , I have tried to find a dialer to go along with the overall look. But everyone I try has the same bug (locking up between status and keypad) as the other, if not more. So I made a skin for one of the most stable dialers I have found. Smartdial works, 911 works. Everthing works. My skin doesn't compare to the brilliant dialpads like Nargz or Dcx but I believe it's pretty decent. It will hold me over until one of them get the kinks worked out anyway. But thanks to "Jimm98y" for creating the original dialer, and thanks also to "kidnamedalbert" for creating the .cab file and making the skin easy to install. I havent had much time to see if there are any flaws in the skin, but if you notice any , post it and I'll have it fixed by the next day with a updated version posted. Also these skins are fully customizable. So if you have a request for a special background of any kind, any certain button design or button layout, anything at all , let me know and I'll try to get it to you.
Instructions are easy,
*First Install the .cab found in the "Install First" folder.
*Second Install the .cab found in the "Install Second folder.
Ok, after you install the first cab, it will tell you to restart your device. Hit cancell, DO NOT restart yet. Then go install the second cab. THEN DO A SOFT RESET.WILL NOT SHOW UP UNTIL AFTER RESET! Thats why its easier to cancell the first reset and just do one after both cabs are installed. Or do a reset after each cab instillation . This should fix you alls problem of it not showing up .Let me know , & sorry I didnt specify this earlier.
GSM/CDMA
Ive used this for around a month now on my CDMA ALLTEL VOGUE/TOUCH. Every feature works. Ive not had one problem since installation. However, this dialer was originally for gsm. There are reports of it working on both. We'll know when the feedback piles up. But Im confident it will work on both, and with the new instructions, there wont be any more trouble.
Features:
Im trying my best to work some more in. Smartdial works on my phone so ill have to see which ones it doesn't on then try to patch it up. The Smartdial option should be located under the menu option while on the keypad. Im working to add video call and a few more features.
Some pics would be nice!!
Any screenshots?

Nice work!!
However, be careful when you say 911 works. It depends for what kind of phone you are talking about. If it is a GSM phone, then probably, but I doubt if 911 would work with a CDMA phone. If I am not mistaken, Jimmy98 dialers are based on GSM phone, so you will have issues with CDMA phones like Sprint.
With that said, any chance you can post the raw graphics files used, maybe in png's or other graphic file format?
You made this dialer????
CDMA/GSM
Actually to my surprise its working perfect on my CDMA Touch Vogue. I also recieved a PM saying its working on a GSM phone as well. Hopefully it stays that way. One dialer for GSM and CDMA, I hope. But Ive used it on mine now for a month with no flaws yet. I would love to know what everyone thinkds though. Custom requests welcome. From Spiderman to Lillies!
Skin
I made the skin. The wonderful dialer was made by Jimm98y.
where can I get smartdial feature for this dialer?
If its included, then its not working on my XDA IIs...
Cheers
EDIT: Smart dial works. I just didnt know that after pressing the numbers, you have to press "Hide Keypad" to view the filtered contacts...
Sorry about that...

What carrier are you on? I am pretty sure Jimmy98y dialer was written for GSM, so even though things seems to be working now, you will probably run into problems in the near future. How do you know 911 is working, btw? If you are on Sprint, do this simple test: Pull up the dialpad and type ##data# (or ##3282#), does the data provisioning screen of EPST come up? If not then it is not written for CDMA.
On the other hand...nice work on the graphics. can't wait for you topost or send the graphics files.
I installed this on my CDMA Touch. Its working but it doesn't look like the screen shots. My "talk" and "End" buttons are not red and green. and I have no Earth background
Smartdial
Theres an option to turn smartdial on on the menu on my vogue. Theres also som reports of it working on GSM devices, but Im unable to test this.
NEW
New Directions In The First Post
Unfortunately it's not working well on my tmobile wing with open touch v3 lite rom, mostly having trouble with Jimm98y's dialer itself. The smart dial sorta works after hiding keyboard, but I can't get it to re-dial the last number (it's important because lot of the times I'm simply returning a call), nor can I access my contacts from the dialpad screen. It behaves very similar to the other iphone dialer but I didn't get to a point of freezing yet. Now I'm back to the old touch dialer that came with the rom.
However I do see that the call status screen is very similar to the touch dialer. Is it possible that I only use that portion of the graphics? It's not too difficult to customize the dial pad using tdial but I could never get the status screen to look right. If you could share your graphics, or simply make a skin pack for touch dialer then it'll be great!
Thank you for the hard work.
Stability
I choose this dialer because its so stable. Even if you by chance loose a feature, in my opinion its worth the stability. Ive used it for a month now and not had 1 dialer related lockup or problem. In my opinion its worth it. Hopefully you enjoy. Any custom requests still welcome, just post it.
YES
If your having a problem with this dialer itself, I can try to create the skin for you dialer of choice, Stock or Not. Just post all the original graphic files on here and PM me and tell the page and post number there on. I can do it fairly quick. 24-48 hours.
I don't have the original pictures of the touch dialer I'm using, but it's the same as people discussed in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=372098
I could care less about the earth background (too !phony) but I do like the red end button and green talk button on the status screen in your skin and the texture of those buttons. And if possible could you use these attachments as backgrounds? I use this as my wallpaper for today and for S2U2 and it'll be very nice to go with these.
Thank you!
I'm happy to present a new skin for Paul De Groots fantastic Minimal Dialer. Please give him a donation for all his hard work so far. I hope you enjoy.

It works, per se. It just looks graphically messed up and doesn't gel with the theme at all.
That's one of the few diallers that I've been impressed with...
....but, I don't see any video calling.
Does it support video call?
EDIT: Forget it....I went to Paul de Groot's thread and found my answer....No video calling
Most of the diallers I see here don't support video calling. Are there any video call enabled diallers out there?
So far I like it. Just installed it havent had an issues as of yet. One thing I do wish it had was when I get an incoming call there could be some type of answer or ignore button instead the softkey at the bottom of the screen. Other than that its good and works well with icontacts
Installed it on my tilt and its working perfectly.
One question though, did i need to uninstall the old PDG Dialer before installing this one?
Really nice skin. One question though, is it unistallable?
Thanks
great skin. mate.. cheers.. keep the good work up
can you make same for WQVGA 240x400 omnia, i can test it for you ?
PLS
@ Xenn : Nope, it'll just overwrite Pauls version with my files. If you want to revert back to Pauls design.. simply reinstall his version. Its not strictly required to uninstall (but it helps in keeping your filesystem clean.) You'll need to reboot to see any changes.
@ pp56825 : Sorry man, not high on my list of priorities right now. The graphics are all released to the public, please feel free to work on your own mod based on them.
@ mconigs - I use s2u2 which takes over answering functions on my device. Not sure what happens if you recieve a call without s2u2 installed. I'll update later if/when I have a fresh device to play with.
@ meckah, ruk_design, dreamcatch : cheers guys .
Looks b-e-a-utiful!
Does this (or the original minimal dialer) support conference calling? if so how?! I don't see any button to add someone when i'm on a call.
thanks!
It is but not for vga. ??/
Does anything err or screw up seriously if I install this version along with the redial add on for the previous version?

Theoretically you'll just need to double the size of the image files within the CAB.
Kwill : not sure sorry mate. Maybe check out Paul DeGroots minimal dialer thread. If you want to go back to the standard dialer, you can also use Schaps AdvConfig to select the non-skinned version of wm6 dialer.
Thanks, looks really nice.

Is there anyway that the Blackstone can play a sound when there is a missed call or missed SMS and repeat it say for example every 3 mins?
don't think there is a built-in feature for this but get spb phone suite. that has it.

That link will let you do what you want, and more importantly, its a freeware!!
Enjoy!
Thanks for the link.
Sounds interesting.
Thanks to you both, I find that the spb phone suite gives me a broader control, but it is nice to have the cab file too.
Seems overkill to install SBP phone suite just for the notifications...
Can anyone pls confirm:
1. Is the cab file uninstallable?
2. How often does the notification repeat?
3. Does it actually work? There are comments on the above download page that says it keeps repeating even after the text is read...
The nice cab file posted above did gave me the optie to repeat a signal.
I have not really tested it yet so far
I tried the SPB phone suite and it worked good for me. I had no issues. The intervals were 1min 5 mins .... I forgot the rest.

Has anyone tried it yet? In that link, several people posted that it keeps repeating the alert even after you have read the missed message.
Also another program option would be PhoneAlarm (lite or Pro).
Also - on a similar note, I tested some of these setting combinations. You can see the results here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=459297
I am using missedcallreminder v1.2 and it works a treat......
Search for it on this site......
I just tried the .cab from post number 3.
It worked fine with the first test message I sent myself, but by the second test message, it DID repeat itself even after I had read the message. I deleted the message for it to stop reminding me and all of a sudden some five minutes later it started reminding me again!!! So, I went ahead and took the check marks off that setting. It's been five minutes and no sound yet.
That is unfortunate. That's a feature that should be considered "essential". I don't know why WindowsMobile or HTC didn't include a good working version of it with the option to remind with sound and/or vibration. We shouldn't have to turn to third-party apps for something like this.
EDIT: BTW, I think this is the program the previous poster was referring to. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=405071
Read the whole thread before you install it. Some people say it uses up too much RAM. I have not tried it, so I can't say anything about it.
Thank you for the applicaion, i used to do it troguh registery but its nicer to have a program doing it for ya

Well with some tweaking the Wing is really quite a great little device. First hit up the Cabs thread and try some stuff from there. I would recommend the following:
Midomi-Lets you let your phone "listen" to a song then tells you what the song is and who it's by and where you can find lyrics and download for it.
Nimbuzz-A GREAT freeware IM client that supports pretty much every thing under the dang sun.
Marketplace-Simply because its awesome and most of the good stuff is free.
Opera Mini-Because IE STILL sucks, and IMHO, IE6on6 is even worse than IE6 was.
Pocketwit-Nice Twitter client that has a cool Titanium home screen plugin that works with it too.
Uhm..hit up either that thread or http://wwwfreewarepocketpc.net or http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com for LOADS of stuff.
I dont have internet on my phone except for wifi.

how'd you get Pocketwit to install under wm6.5?? Everytime I try the install gets to 100%, then says "failed to run pockettwit.exe in /Storage Card/Pocketwit/pockettwit.exe"
Uhm, I just do heh. It's always just installed fine for me to my storage card. Now if you are talking about the homescreen link for quickpost, than yeah I get an error on that simply because its pointing to the wrong directory, but the program itself installs and works from the start screen fine. Maybe you should get a newer version from pocketpcfreeware...thats where I got my copy from.
