hi there. i bought a new class 6 8gb Micro sd card about a week ago.
When my phone was using the class 2 card my phone with an installed rom and was working perfectly. In the following sequence, i started using my new card. formatted the card to FAT32 and then booted into fastboot and formatted it into fat32-ex2-linux. reboot my phone with the new card in still and all it does is loop over and over.
i put my old sd card back in and the phone boots right away. is ther anywhere in the sequence which tells you guys im going wrong and if so can someone please advise me on which way to go?
thank you very much
edit - did a data wipe and fresh install with the class 6 sd card and it does the same again. looping over and over on the boot screen. will be going back to the class 2 for now
for your info this phone is a voda magic. 32b. cheers
this is what i did for my sd card.
-booted into Amon_RA's recovery mode with the NEW sd card.
-formatted it to FAT32 then to fat32/ext2/swap
-wipe data off phone
-pull new sd card out and put another sd card that has your rom you want to flash to
-flash rom
-once flashing is complete, pull out sd card with update.zip and put in NEW formatted card
-Reboot phone
thanks for you reply! unfortunately no luck.
does anybody else have any other ways of doing this?
thank you
bump!!!!!!
i must just have a dud card. even tried putting a nandroid restore image onto it but after the restore, same story.
gutted
quick update on the situation. Wiped the card, reformatted all with new partitions and success! it booted with new rom etc.
after around an hour my phone had turned itself off. only way to turn it back on was to pull the battery and then power on. after around the same amount of time the phone did the same.
i pulled the card. phone powered on and then stayed on. very strange
someone give me some help please!!
thanks

Partitioning formats the sd card. You could try running recovery software designed for SD cards but I don't fancy your chances.
Are you saying you formatted your sd card and did not back up all the data first?
If you just want to unpartition--reformat fat32
There may be a possibility of getting your data back. As long as you don't write anything new to the card. Anything new put on the card would overwrite the old data that is in the same location, basically 'randomly' overwrite old stuff.
But if you haven't written too much to it, you could use some recovery programs to try and find your old files. Technically they are all still there, but their 'location' on the card is now unknown.

no i backed up all of the data, i just didn't know if formatting it would mess it up or not.
Thanks i formatted it and it works fine now
Great.
Had us scared.
I flashed my mobile a few days ago. But after flashing stock rom My memory card isnt mounting in stock recovery. Help me plz.
copy all sd card contents to pc
If you have any 2nd partitions delete them first using mini tool - if not move onto next steps
boot phone normally
goto
settings
storage
unmount sd card
format/erase sd card
your card should now be mountable in recovery (you can then create a 2nd partition in cwm if you want - note this will format sd card again)
you can then copy everything back to sd card

Every ROM i download/copy onto my SD card is corrupt? I made a folder and copied a rom into in from my computer and the folder became corrupted. From then all the ROMs i copy/download are corrupt?
There was a ROM on the SD card before that isnt corrupt. Will formatting my SD card fix the problem?
It should, unless the card is damaged.
I wiped the sd card in android and then downloads a rom and gapps to the sd card. In TWRP i did a nandroid backup of my current OS. I couldnt access any folders in Install ZIP except for the TWRP folder. I ran chkdsk on the sd card through cmd on my pc. I then copied another rom into the root of the card and flashed it, it seems to be working now as the zip flashed without a problem. I will try to download another rom through android and flash that and see if it is corrupts it again.
I downloaded a rom to the sd card in android and the rom is corrupt. Im going to wipe the sd card in twrp and redownload the rom
it looks like that has fixed it (wiping in TWRP).
That's excellent news. I had an 8GB card that would display one set of folders in recovery and an entirely different set of folders in Android. The only solution for that one was to download SDFormatter on the PC, install it, and wipe the MicroSD using that tool.
1.My sd card not work with recovery. I change 4-5 custom roms, alway not work. Only work after boot system. Why? On other phone in twrp recovery working.
My phone i9506 and latest twrp rooted
2. Always with install system with aroma, my recovery is transpratent and i don't see clear all information and options during install custom rom with aroma, not background with aroma.. On my S3 Neo, never transpartent background. How to fix this?
