i know that there isnt a toggle that does 2g/3g but it brings you to the system settings.
now that i have root is there a toggle that just does 2g/3g?
Toggle settings.
That application we spoke of earlier in that other thread has that section built-in on the user interface. There are TWO tabs for various toggle options.
There is one that can adjust the data usage. GPRS, EDGE, and 3G.
EDGE is essentially 2G.
i have the application, but it brings me to the system settings page and requires another key press, i was hoping that maybe with root it is possible to just place a widget on the desktop which toggles between 2g and 2g/3g without having to go into the system settings.
Beautiful Widgets.
If I'm not mistaken I do believe that they offer a little toggle that can do just that.
Double-check that.
They might, if so...it won't come free. However, I have it ported from a website and the weather widget they offer is brilliant.

Can these be changed? I dont use vibrate, but do use silence...it would be great to have silent on this panel.
If any developer is working on this, I wish to also request that the following toggle be added in:
- changing brightness level
- Toggle on and off orientation
- Toggle on and off Data connection
- Toggle on and off flight mode
I know we can use wizard to provide these toggle, and that's what I currently do, but the ability to change the toggle from ANYWHERE without having to exit your appliction and come to the desktop (or worse to search for the toggle within the deep Setting structure) would be lovely. I have such as feature on my iPhone and love it, so I hope Android can give me the same flexibility and customization capability.
ive been looking for a widget/toggle that will let you turn off the mobile data in your homescreen instead of going thru lots of menus to turn it off. anyone?
Widgetsoid.
Fully customizable power control widget. Works very well. Check it out.
I use APN on/off Widget. Free download and works on every android device without problems.
I can't get it to work with 4.5.91.
From the Mighty Atrix 4G
I use wigisoid but with data switch paired with a launcher you can change the shortcut icon to whatever you want
sent from my Atrix via XDA premium
I use APN Manager and so far, so good!
Sometimes I need to "reset" my Mobile connection to get full speed from my provider (weired!).
Can't you just use the stock airplane mode toggle widget?

the guy just want to turn off data, not voice
Another vote for Widgetsoid here.
It's awesome, so customisable - any toggle for anything that can be turned on/off/adjusted can be done with it, and it's skinnable to the max.
One of my first downloads for a new phone. 10/10 app.
I am all about Widgetsoid as well. Negates the need for any other toggle widget app or whatever...
However I HAVE noticed that while I'm running Gingerbread, the GPS toggle will open up settings every time I press it. Very annoying, but I hear it's present in any phone on Gingerbread...oh well. Kind of unfortunate that the dev hasn't really seemed to put out any updates for a long time..
widgetsoid only changes the apn but the data is still enabled which i believe means it still drains the battery. correct me if im wrong.
You need to have Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S7 with Nova Launcher and Marshmallow.
Confirmed working on SM-G925F
So, to access hidden activities you need to add Nova Launcher widget called "Activites" then scroll down to "Settings" and select something from list. Some things won't work (they are not available, need additional permissions etc.), some of them are already available via Settings. I am not responsible if tinkering with activities do something nasty to your device!
However, there are some options that are hidden but can be very, very useful.
Hint - you can "test" specific activity by long press, there's no need to put every activity on home screen and test it that way. Also, applying settings isn't dependent on Nova Launcher, ergo you can use whatever you want after changing something.
Here's what I've found:
Settings
.DisplayScalingActivity - enables condensed view of system UI, same as on S6 Edge + or Note 5, meaning smaller icons and UI elements.
.IconBackgrounds - enables homescreen and app drawer icons background like it was in Marshmallow Beta.
.ModePreviewTablet - enables additional "Reading mode" in display options. It dims screen so I don't recommend using it on bright daylight because it can be harder to see assets on screen.
.networkconnect.NetworkManagerActivity - holy **** this one is nice. Allows you to select which app can use WiFi and mobile data. Also it allows you to select which apps can use data even after data usage warning is shown.
.RunningServices - shows running services, like in Developers Menu
.Settings$AirCmdSettingsActivity - S-Pen Air Command setting. It won't work since S6/S7 doesn't support S-Pen functionality.
.Settings$MemorySettingsActivity - Shows RAM usage options like on stock Marshmallow, at least I think. Very helpful for troubleshooting misbehaving apps or battery consumption.
.Settings$ZenModeSettingsActivity - it seems like this is Do Not Disturbed (DND) on steroids. You can add additional rules and select which events can have priority.
.UsageStatsActivity - shows usage for every app on phone. It lists app name, Last time app was used and for how long.
.wifi.WifiConfigInfo - very detailed info about configured WiFi networks.
System UI
.settings.BrightnessDialog - shows small slider for brightness
.DessertCase - old KitKat hidden animation from About
.egg.MLandActivity - hidden MM game
List will be updated with new discoveries.
Link for the widget please?
I am not able to locate it will Google search.
it´s a widget of nova launcher...just add the widget to homescreen
I've been trying to find a widget that simply toggles the WiFi hotspot from my home screen on my Nexus 6P. I've tried the following:
Adding a Quick Settings widget, but the only option is "Tethering & portable hotspot"
Power Toggles app, but the hotspot toggle button only serves as an indicator, it doesn't actually do anything
Tasker WiFi Tether task, with the action set to Toggle, but it doesn't do anything when you run it
Searching through the 6P forums for other solutions
Everything I've tried has resulted in a dead end. The only solution I've been able to get working is to add the built-in Hotspot to the Quick Settings dropdown. Has anyone been able to find a push button solution from the home screen?
Elixir can do it and has many size widgets, toggles, etc. in Playstore.

I couldn't figure out how to get it to work. I tried both Elixir and Elixir 2. In Elixir 2, I selected "Turn on WiFi Hotspot" from the app, and it didn't have any effect. Also, that functionality is not available as a selection for the Elixir 2 widget.
Hi, I'm only using Elixir 2 widgets. You have to pick a widget & size for home screen, and then fill in the icon toggles and/or apps. Here's a pic of mine 4x2 with 21 icons on bottom. Bluetooth is on and Wi-Fi hotspot is off in this pic....

I'm still having trouble getting this to work. See the attached screenshot. I'm choosing "Wi-Fi AP (Hotspots) toggle". When I press the button from the home screen, it says "Turning on...", but nothing happens. Icon doesn't change, hotspot isn't turned on. My device is rooted, and I gave Elixir SU access.
Not sure, your setup sounds correct & your rooted. Do any other elixir toggles work? Assuming you saved and rebooted...
I don't have a toggle widget, but I have set llama to turn wifi on and off based on location. Turn wifi on when entering home or office. turn off when leaving either place. works perfectly. In the rare event I want wifi somewhere else, i just use quick settings drop down.

Yes, I rebooted, but still no dice. Bluetooth toggle works fine, just the WiFi Hotspot isn't working. I'm on the latest Marshmallow kernel, from Mar 22nd. @lanternca, I'm using "Smart WiFi Toggler" for trusted WiFi detection and turning it off otherwise.
How can I get the WiFi/Bluetooth quick settings tiles to act as toggles and not menu shortcuts? With marshmallow a single click enabled/disabled WiFi, with N it only seems to open a "quick list" of available wifi networks. Is it just a fundamental change Google made in N?
Thanks
