Hi guys,
i received my 2nd hand T-Mobile MDAII 2 days ago. When i powered it on, i saw that the WM2005 rom came from this site. Since i have a small "issue" with my phone i thought i would ask here (since google does not know the answer)
I love my new device, that's for sure. There's only 1 slight problem. To save some battery life, i turn on the setting to go in standby mode after 1 minute of not touching it. But when the phone goes in standby, i completly miss all incoming phone calls and text messages.
I tested this last night :
I send an text message to a friend of mine, asking him to send one back after 10 minutes. My phone goed into standby, and i wait. Half an hour later, no vibration (i hate ringtones) from an incoming message or call. When i pull my phone out of standby it suddenly vibrates because i have an incoming text message.
Is there a way that i can turn my phone into standby mode, but still receive incoming phonecalls and messages ? I now keep it on all the time, just letting the backlight go off but this consumes to much power i'm affraid.
i have a really weird problem. When i recieve an sms my display does not turn on ( even though i have the turn on selected in notifications for 5min). Instead if i don't read the sms, display turns on after like 20-25min.
Any solution to this?
I had a similiar problem in that my display would not turn on when a new txt came through even though I had it set in the notifications. I switched it off in the notifications and switched it on using HD tweak and it works now. I can't comment switching on after 25 mins as I never left it for that long before reading a txt.
Ever since I enabled activesync for pushing gmails to my phone, my vibration notification for incoming emails gets stuck on vibrate whenever I receive an email. What I mean by getting stuck on vibrate is that the phone literally stays on vibrate and will only stop once I wake up the phone. Any ideas what might be causing this?

Have you got the email notification sound set to a file that is no longer there?
1024 Leo, USA T-Mobile version.
It only happens with incoming email, SMS and calls are fine.
When I try to reproduce the problem, I simply have to wait for the phone to check for new mail. The the phone notifies me about new email. If I try to turn the screen on, it won't. The hard button lights up, indicating the phone is on but I can't interact with the screen. Resetting the phone via the red button is the only remedy.
If I act real fast when new mail comes, sometimes I'm able to start sliding to unlock but it still crashes. If I'm really fast I'm able to even get to the mail screen but it still crashes.
But the crash does not occur if I'm already using the phone when new email comes in. If I want to reproduce it, I have to leave the phone "alone", with the screen off. If the screen is on when the new mail comes in, the crash does not occur.
The problem started occurring with completely stock phone, the very first day, without making changes. As I cab tweaked the phone, (no ROM) the problem persists, it happens.
Because of this problem, when I wake up in the morning, I can't use my phone because the screen doesn't turn on and I have to restart the phone so I can use it. My mail send/receive interval is set for 4 hours so while I sleep the phone receives new email at least once.
I investigated similar problems for TP2 and Touch HD but it does not help.
I backed up everything on my phone so I'm ready to make changes if you have any advice. I checked for: changing the email ring tone, wake up on new email setting. They have no effect on this problem.
After this happens, I tried calling my phone. It will not ring, but the hard buttons light up but are unresponsive, I can't neither pick up nor reject the incoming call. I sent an SMS to the phone in this state, it didn't do anything.
Do you have knowledge that can help me? Is anyone willing to try to reproduce the problem on their phone?
All you would do is set any ring tone for incoming mail, leave the phone with the screen off and "wait" for new email to come in. Don't do anything for a minute and then check if the crash occurred.
Please help, I hate waking up to a crashed phone that I need to restart every time. Because of this problem, setting a wake up alarm is useless.
If you can't help with this, at least is there any way I can "force" the phone to restart without removing the battery cover?
Thank you.
Hi guys, I wonder if this is a setting issue or something.
I have my phone set to vibrate mode. I get notifications on second screen as per normal when i am using the phone. When the phone is locked, sometimes I still get instant notifications (ie. gmail, whatsapp etc)
But sometimes the phone doesn't show any notifications at all! (Noticed this as I was logged into gmail on pc, I had new emails but none were popping on the phone)
However, upon unlocking the phone, all the notifications started popping in!!
This defeats the purpose of a second screen if I have to unlock the phone to receive notifications!
Please help~
It sounds like the phone went to 'sleep' and doesn't wake even as I get new mails and stuff.
EDIT: I have tried battery optimization, set gmail and other mail apps to ignore. But that doesn't help.
