Hi
Just a quick question; does anyone know if the T-Mobile G2 has the Sense UI that is on the normal HTC Hero?
Thanks.
Yes. I have one.
Cheers....

That's the Desire Z, it's a phone hardware identical to the g2 but instead of stock android, it has Sense 2 (i think there calling it). it's released in Europe, not here.
In other words
Desire Z = Europe version and has sense
G2 = US version with vanilla
but once we figure out a perm root im sure a ROM will be created easily

I understand personal pref.... BUT why ruin a vanilla android OS that comes from the carrier? Especially a carrier that has plenty of sense devices.

I came from the g1 then mytouchslide I loved sense it has more options for widgets,calling(t9) ,and browser settings. The g2 is amazing and fast but it looks like the g1 as far as looks go.
Is it possible to add HTC Sense to the Samsung Epic? Is there a launcher that can do this or just complete different UI theme or even a complete ROM? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

LauncherPro is an alternative launcher that can be used with the epic -- However, although there is 'HTC Sense' themse for the launcher itself, I think they would have to be ported over for it to work.
TouchWiz is great, I had hero before epic. In my opinion TW definitely out performs Sense, and isn't as bulky. First question everyone will ask you is "Why not just bye the evo if you wanted Sense?"

I have the Epic Experience ROM currently flashed I think, and it has Launcher Pro (I also think, ha). What you're saying is that there are HTC Sense themes for Launcher Pro? Mind explaining how I would be able to change the theme of Launcher Pro to have HTC Sense? And there's a simple, easy answer for that question; The Epic has a nice keyboard that the EVO does not.
You will need to do some google work. First find a LauncherPro sense theme. Then research how to port it over to epic.

You can add Sense UI by buying an EVO
As far as actually adding HTC Sense to this phone: It won't happen mostly because Sense is all closed source.

Its actually available on launcher pro plus which is the paid version for widgets to become available. You can buy it thru the market or 4shared is your friend. ;-)

I have a evo as well with sense custom rom and it a lot more functional as far as features go. I love sense, to bad its not availble on the epic. You can always get an evo however the evo doesn't compare to the epic in power. Movies, games and eveything looks better on the epic thanks to it gpu and super amoled.
I think ROM devs might be able to port it over, but we might have to wait for HTC to release a phone similar enough to ours first. That's what happened on my old G1, at least.

That doesn't make it an impossible task, there's always decompilers, computer science forensics, and educated guess-work that could probably accomplish the job. Whether or not anyone would be willing to take the time to do it is another question.
Of course someone who can code could just start from scratch to build something that gives the same front end results as sense whether or not the back end is actually sense probably wouldn't matter to the end user.
Hi!
I've seen the new htc sense in the HTC Incredible and also seen a hack that alowed to use sense 3.0 in Desire HD, but there is no notice of any plan to put it in the HTC HD2.
Is anyone planning to do it? It would be reeeeeally nice!

Is anyone aware of a port for non HTC phones?
From my perspective, my G2 would be complete if they were available.
