Can't Save wifi settings - Networking

Hello all. my problem is i'm not able to save the wifi settings. I'm connecting to an EAP-PEAP network at school. Everytime i disconnect, it doesnt save and I have to enter all the info again. this doesnt happen with my home wifi network, which is WPA. Does anyone else get this problem. It happens even after checking the save password box. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I have similar issues with my school network. Their techs don't know anything or have any advice.

Wifi wont connect

Hello everyone, I searched and the difference between my problem and everyone elses is that my wifi can be turned on and I can find networks, I just cant connect to them. Including my home, unlocked wlan, nothing will connect. I can use my edge connection just fine but the wifi wont work. Can anyone help me out?
thanks!
this has been covered in 3 or more threads.. i know there is at least 3 because i read 2 and started 1..
thanks for clarifying that...but can you please send me a link to one that can help? thanks.
One quick thing to try:
turn on wifi, spot your home network, tap and hold to connect, does it actually say it's connected, but not get pages, or is it not able to connect at that stage?
Found this thread that might help you:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=281350&highlight=wifi+cannot+connect
It does not connect at all...it always says connecting...even after I reset my router...it happens to every router
Quick thing to try:
Start/settings/connections/network cards/wireless
tap on your home network
tap network Key
Change open to shared
try that, it sometimes works.

Need help with Samsung i780 WiFi

Hi there every one...
I got my phone just couple days ago, and I'm really satisfied with every thing , Bluetooth, GPS, Speed, etc...
but I got very interesting problem with the WiFi..
It detects networks, but can't connect to them.. also I can't connect to my home Wirless network,
When I try to connect to any WiFi network, it tries to connect and then it marks the connection with red "x" with comment that the network is unavailable
when I tried to make an adhoc connection with my Laptop, it says that it is connected, and could ping my phone..
tried later to connect to my WiFi network after I disabled all kinds of protections and encryptions and after I enabled the protections again... no good
please help, because WiFi is extremely important feature that I need...
ROM: PDA = PHONE = i780DXHD1
I didn't flash the device, nor touched the ROM...
any help will be very very appreciated
thanx in advance
common guys...
no body experienced such problem?????
please I need your help...
Well... could a 3D party WiFi manager force it to connect ??
if it could... can you please recommend me one?
You havent said much as to exactly whats happening vs what you've tried. Have you tried connecting to your home network with encryption off?If it connects with security switched off, then try connecting with wep on,then switch to wpa.
Well.. I did every thing you said and nothing happened... even after a hard reset...
also what I've noticed is I can't ping my phone on each connection... =(
sometimes it connects and can be pinged....and sometimes not which drove me crazy already =(
do you have any ideas???
Same here, no solution.

is this Software or Hardware problem??
how do you think??
a solution
Hi guys... Actually i faced this problem several days ago. I think this is a bug but im not sure since im not expert in this. My i780 can connect to some networks and can't for some. Here is a trick:
In the network device tab, edit the setting of your Samsung wifi card
Change to Use specific IP address:
IP 192.168.0.1
and that's all for now, leave other settings default
Now you can connect to the network but cannot use it. And somehow when you disconnect the connection, the Wifi in your Wireless Connection might disappear. Try to reset the phone and the Wifi is back.
Change the settings back to Use server-assigned IP and you can use the Wifi now. It really works. And now my i780 can connect to any network, lucky me
Ahh, forgot abt this... You can refer to this topic as well. Hope this help

8125 wifi problem?

Heyooo
I'm new to my 8125, and am having the damndest time trying to connect to my wifi.
I have a proper WPA-PSK wifi network, and I've entered the network key several times now. Each time I try to connect though it fails and just reads the network as "available". When I look at the network key area theres far more stars than what I've actually entered for a key.
Is it buggering off and putting in the network key wrong itself, or is there something further I have to do to get it properly connected? I've connected to an open network no problem (al bet before I did a factory reset).
Any help would be appreciated =D Thanks!

Hey mods!
You can delete this thread. I figured out what it was (various router settings) that was preventing me and got it sorted.

JADE WiFi issue

Hi Guys,
I have brand new Jade and I'm really happy about this. The only problem is with his WiFi. He is able to detect my network and he is connecting with no issues, status says CONNECTED, but when I try to access any network recourses it tries to connect using GPRS/EDGE. I have tried to put my phone in to flying mode and then connect with WiFi, but no result. I have also made hard reset and also no success.
Any help will be appreciated!
I know there is a specific setting on the phone registry. Look for it, you should find a solution somewhere here!

Wifi problems

Hi! Sorry for this message, but I really didn't find a topic that would answer my question. My phone shows that the wifi is connected to my home network, but I can't acces any internet pages, or even update weather. My laptop which is also connected to the home wifi is working properly. I just recieved my phone from the servis, I explained the problem with the wifi, and they said that it should work OK, and that there is no problem with the hard or softwear!! I would appreciate any help from you guys. Many thanks!

The issue is probably in your connection settings, Settings\Connections\Connections\Advanced\Select Networks.
Can't tell who your provider is so can't help you from there.
My provider is SIMOBIL. But why should my problem with wifi connection be connected to my provider? Isn't wifi totally seperated from that? Cause my SIMOBIL network works just fine, it's the wifi that says it's connected and doesn't work at all. Thanks!!
Make sure that your IP and DNS settings are correct in the D2. Also any encryption as well.
Are you connecting to a router? If so, make sure your security settings are correct, and allow the D2 to access the internet, ie, allowing the MAC address.
I need to enter my MAC address in my router and can't find it on my TD2 (model T5358) and my manual is only in Chinese, so that's no help. I searched "MAC Address" in the topaz fourm but didn't see the path to follow to find it. If you know how to find it, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Turn on Wi-Fi, then Settings\Connections\Wi-Fi\Advanced\ (or Comm Manager\Wi-Fi\Advanced\) then switch to tab Advanced

i experience the same thing, but after i change the router WEP encryption key from hexadecimal input back to character input, it works flawlessly. think phone just not support hexadecimal encrype key??
Try to set the Power Management slider to Best Performance in the wifi section. I experienced that some ROMs need to be set like that to work, otherwise the symptoms are like yours: phone "looks" connected but no traffic is going on..
What protocol/standard is your wifi?
I have notice that since I replaced my wireless G router with an N router (same brand - D-Link), that my connection only lasts for a few seconds while I'm active. After a minute, or any delay in activity, my connection is invalid and I get 404 errors. I had no trouble surfing for hours before, and my laptop seems fine, so I'm not sure where to start troubleshooting.
