Hi guys
i have an htc magic 32A... whats the best Hero rom out right now? Please help me out...im new to this
thanks!
Try them out and make your considerations... there are too many fans of a ROM or of another to just tell "THAT ONE!"
Actually the more developed are:
JACxHEROski maintained by Lionheart (yeah sorry for the numers ) (I think it won't be supported for long)
Haykuro's 1.79.482.3 Hero by Drizzy allways maintained by Lionheart (the one I'm using)
MyHero
AFAIK they're all fast enough, specially with Amon_RA/GBO kernels. Bluetooth and leds not working properly (no headset / wrong leds management)

On myhero v1.0.0 leds and BT (Only music tested) are working!
well I think that BT (music) is working everywhere...
I thought the opposite, a couple of weeks I was reading this issue everywhere..
That's good.. maybe is time to test new ROM's

When people say the leds aren't working, I think they mean the orange led doesn't come on when the phone is charging, the green one works for fully charged, sms etc. I think the blue one works while downloading but i'm not too sure...
I installed Haykuro's 1.79.482.3 Hero
It seems to work very well...there are so many new terms I see tho on the site like HBOOT and SPL... whats the optimal combination of hacks/tweaks for a magic to run a hero rom?
I am on rogers and have the 32A device
upgraded from fatal1ty1.4 to myhero0.1.1 which is based in fatal1ty and it is recommended as i'm using a rogers' magic on att/usa and my current hacks are flashing an engineered spl and a custom splash1 as well as changing battery cover with a htc oem one so the device is completely un-branded:
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A ENG S-OFF H
HBOOT-1.33.2005 (SAPP50000)
CPLD-12
RADIO-3.22.20.17
APR 20 2009, 15:30:43
the led/trackball notification bug exists and may lead me to try myhero1.0.1. the bluetooth bug i can live with until htc releases sophie for sapphire.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=552274
I vote for MyHero 0.1.1, and im on a Roger's Magic with at&t!

So I have searched and couldn't find a thread (or even multiple threads) simular to this so I thought I would start one.
Anyways after trying the different radios firmware everything this is what I came up with:
Using Haykuros rom (early stages) I liked it but not stable enough so I went back to jf rc33.
I tried JF 1.5 but to laggy and key presses were extremely slow and I couldn't hadle this.
So finally I used The Dudes 1.5 (curently 1.0) so far found this to be the most responsive. No laggyness (not sure if even a word)
Now onto the radios.
I used The Dudes link to htc's update used for awhile hate it battery dies in less then eight hours with little use. Wifi sucks market hangs the works.
So I switched to Jf radio wondering if this might work (keep in mind I'm still using thDudes build,) didn't work same raido so same problems.
Finally switched to Haykruo's radio and works wonderfully great battery, wifi all of that.
Here are the things I have noticed, correct me if I'm wrong, my settings and all:
When using HTC's radio my light would never time out I had to hit the end button numerous times throughout the day to shut them off. This could be totally unrelated but hey I'm just stateing what I noticed. With the sapphire it times out just right.
Another thing was with HTC it told me I had all kinds of internal memory. With the sapphire radio it read the real amount.
Also with the sapphire radio it is way faster in general.
Anyone have any idea what might work best or is what I'm doing now the best.
As I am a newbie too, I can't help you much, but I know one thing for sure. I updated today to the HTC radio and:
- no problems with wifi
- no problems with market
- screen times out just allright
Well I'm not a total newb I have been doing this since the g1 came out, I have just found the search button very helpful. Just most of my phone modding knowledge is in windows mobile. This is just more of things I've noticed and was wondering if anyone else was having the same issues.
Hi, i have problems with my htc magic.
Most of the times that i try to have a conversaton longer then few minutes the call will crash. No message is displayed, it just shows the call ended.
After the first crash like that, if i try to call back, the call drops will occur more often, and sometime just after connecting. And obviously it is very frustrating.
I don't think this is ROM Related, since i tried several.
It happened to me on myHero rom, and on cyanogen rom as well.
Right now i'm running cyanogen 4.2.9.1, and still have the issue.
Here are the details of my magic:
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A SHIP S-ON H
HBOOT-1.33.0009 (SAPP10000)
CPLD-12
RADIO-3.22.20.17
Do you have any idea how i can fix it?
are you sure you're not using an iphone?
sorry :$
Actually, I moved from iphone3g to htc magic.
And I never had any problems with iphone.
I enjoy the freedom that android gives, but I also want
to make phone calls.
Seriously, maybe my radio rom is old or something?
never had this issue my self

Yes, I have the same problem. After few minutes of call, my contact does not ear me, and then the call ends.
My configuration is the last official donut 1.6 and corresponding radio.
I have rooted my conf.
And... That's all.
Any suggestions ?
Sorry, my conf is :
32B
Radio 2.22.19.26I
I have a similar problem. Mine occurs between 240 and 250 minutes everytime. On every Cyan's mod that I've used. Not sure if it does on a non-rooted phone because mine was rooted the moment I got it.
SOLVED, i hope
Just wanted to let you guys know,
that i flashed CursorSense rom 0.8:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=592856
Also upgraded Radio and SPL, and for 3 days that i'm using it, i haven't experienced a single disconnect. And i managed to have some long conversations, finally.
But this means, that i'm stuck with 1.5 version for a while.
Which doesn't bothers me alot anyway, i love htc sense.
The ROM Pretty fast and stable.
OK I would have to go to millon different pages to collect the info on who has what combo of wimo and droid working and what versions and fixes they are using.
SO PLEASE ANYBODY WITH GOOD COMBO BUILD (WIMO / DROID SETUP) ON HTC HD2 TMOUS, OR TMOUS COMPATIBLE
PLEASE LIST THE ROMS/RADIOS/HSPL/DROID BUILDS/ PHONE SPECS/ETC THAT MAKES UP YOUR SETUP
I KNOW THE ANDROID IS NOT FULLY RUNNING SMOOTH BUT I THINK WE NEED GOOD ENOUGH STABILITIES POSTED UP.
DONT HAVE A WORKING COMBO SO THIS WOULD HELP ALL NOOBS ALL AT ONCE
LIST THE GLITCHES YOU DO HAVE WITH YOUR COMBO SETUP TOO
FOR INSTANCE ALL IM REALLY WANTING IS A COMBO SETUP WHERE I CAN AT LEAST
MAKE/RECEIVE CALLS AND SMS SEND/RECEIVE, APP MARKET AND GPS AND WIFI WORKING IS A BONUS.
PERSONALLY I CAN WAIT FOR BETTER RELEASES THAT FIX EVERYTHING ELSE BUT I NEED THOSE THINGS AT MINIMUM
Go feed yourself, your know how to work a KEYBOARD obviously...
all of those are already working =b

Nothing is really working fully, tons of people having issues and glitches only senior members seem to have things working well so thats the reason for the post what are you taking about!GG
if you would read any of the build pages they list ALL of the functions that are working..
im a total noob and my android build is working perfectly. there are going to be glitches but wifi works just fine, sms in and out work perfectly, calling works perfectly now. everything you asked for is ALREADY working
This is currently trial and error for most people, bit if you read through some of the Rom threads you will see what is working within each ROM. Most ROM posts also list a recommended WinMo ROM / radio combination to work best with their setup.
Personally I'm using an Energy ROM + mattc froyo rc 1.4 with sense + radio 2.12.50. Everything working in Android except WiFi tether and camcorder (the latter is fixed in rc 1.5)
Search and read the first couple of posts of each of the created ROMs we have. That should give you everything you need about each one.
Sent from my Android HD2 via XDA app
I have been running android perfectly for days now. (Bluetooth, gps, everything works for me.) Running radio 2.12.50 elegancia rom and mattc froyo build 1.5. It took a little bit of tweaking but once I read through all the posts and got the couple little fixes (a lot of searching, but worth it), I got it working 100% on every boot. Fast, no SOD, no issues. I can't wait until they do make this into a full rom, but even if they didn't, this is very stable.
Hey this would be to halp all noob
Its not spoon feeding S%$^& WTF r you taking about. i have been on here since friday morning didnt even sleep last night(seriously, broke night looking for just a few answers) i broke night reading and reading, trying to get somewhere before the work-weekdays hit
and even so WHY the F not whats the point of giving people the run around,
and on top of that even with everybody giving there by build setups still doesnt mean its gonna work for me. but at least its not a waist of time. for noobs like me
to be trying useless setups
whats the point of making noobs run around, then you guys complain about noods bouble posting and threading
I am a production designer, YOU'RE basically feeding the damn DOUBLE threading problem, since its so hard for noobs to find sh(t they go ahead and post a new thread,
then you idiots get madd because people are double posting
"ohh the question has already been answered" yea on like page 1367 of this one particular threads, the Q & A didnt really help me it was to specific nothing to do with enter working rom combos
the main freaking reason for dual booting is to get wimo and droid to work together successfully, WHY spread it across thousands of pages, State what works THEN break it down
felt like a read the bible, you got threads over 2000+ pages WTF juut because i want to slim THOUSANDS of pages to read to just 10 or so, thats called spoon feeding.
I love this site, because i went from absolute no knowledge in CELL phone modding
to having a very good understanding of it.
I HATE idiots like you with your damn egos,... yea help the damn noob once in a while you where once one to, PLEASE spoon feed us for fuqing once. Maybe this will stop alot of DOUBLE THREADING/POSTING
Hi Guys,
I had have a CleanEX Hyper Rom V9.0 from this Post #4
forum.xda-developers.com/ showthread.php?t=656835

I installed mattc Leo + Froyo w/Sense 1.5 on my SD (forum.xda-developers.com/ showthread.php?t=736545 )
It worked very fast without errors or hangs for a half day ( I tryed sms, phone, internet, some widgeds )
Awesome! no problems.
After that experience my battery was low ;-) ( I didn't used the fix ).
I hope you are able to understand my text, I had have no english practise.

Energy Dinik Winmo Rom
Radio 2.10.50.26
Mattc Froyo 1.5
Runs very well, with no problems at all aside from the known issues.
So far I've been really happy with:
WinMo: Dutty's C5 Premium
Android: shubCraft 1.1
Matt Leo Froyo 1.5 with AxLor Leo WM Rom and Radio 2.08.
Haven't rebooted since the built was released and pressed into my HD2.
Oh, my gf commented that my voice does not have echo anymore.
HSPL v2
radio: 2.10.50.26_2
Rom: Stock 1.66 Eastern Europe
Android Build: FroyoStone ( the last one from 07/08/10) with sense
No major issues with this configuration. Everthing works fast. The only real problem is the power consumption. It runs about 10-12 hours with average usage. Heavy usage drains it down in 3-4 ... There are some small problems as well - touchscreen inresponsive for a few seconds here and there, flash is working slower than the previous builds. The overall speed of the build is remarkably fast. Just brilliant work to cottula and darkstone !
The camcorder works flawlessly in 800x480 mode - i just love it

darkstoneFroyo 1.7 (haven't upgraded yet)
Zimage -8/3
system.ext2 for gps fix
Energy Dinik 7/24 (haven't upgraded yet)
& Energy Titanium 7/14 with SPB using mskip Shellchanger
I have used JMZ Dualboot, not using it now, works fine both ways.
I'm not really having any issues. GPS, market, wifi works fine. Don't use bluetooth...all of the apps I usually use for Android work fine. I've been using almost exclusively Android now for a couple of weeks ( I do have 3 batteries though)
Thanks EVERYONE for telling what you have now i can use those as guide lines and see which i candy i like best for wimo and hope that it has sense, cuz without sense...makes no sense.lolol. corny but true
Hope fully people will continue posting so Noobs can understand there possible combos.
cant wait till all bigs are fixed and updates come in all for one patches, if they would do that.

HSPL 2
Android Loader v4.0

Other than the system2.ext replacement for the GPS, there is nothing else. Calls are loud and clear, no robot talk, data pulls from 3G and HSPSA and switches seemlessly between my WiFi spots I hit throughout the day.
Also, if it matters... in WinMo is have all switches on under Comm Manager. Data, Phone, 3G, WiFi. And Data Roaming is on in Android.
Loving it.. I have been running it as my primary since July 27th, until the other day when I gave FROYOStones a shot. I restored my previous yesterday and it is back to the sweet spot.

Sent from my HTC HD2 DROID.
What do you guys think the best Rom and android combination is. i have tried a few and want to know what is working best for you.
thanks.
I'll bite, even though "Best rom/build" threads are usually shunned.
I use Energy rom for windows and shubcraft for Android. I use a full energy rom because I still use windows from time to time. Shubcraft is preferred for me because of performance and it feels native to my HD2. It tells me in the 'about' section that I am using an HTC HD2 as opposed to a Desire or Nexus One. Something about that just makes it feel right for me.
My combo works well but I do put the time in to fully explore and find solutions to minor problems. I believe that rom/build compatibility is not a huge issue at this stage. In my experience any rom works well with any android build. To get it working properly it takes more than just the "right" combo.
It would be more beneficial to have a thread with "Non compatible rom/builds" rather than best combination.
i change both of mine all the time but right now it is mattcnexus1.1 for andorid and artemis for windows. with this setup i never get sod and only get screen freeze if auto rotate is on
I've been having good luck with a combo of VBN Black on the windows side & the latest Shubcraft on the Android side. So far the only real issue I'm having is occasional data errors, laggy GPS, and some programs not wanting to install/work. And, with occasional data usage & 2-3 hrs of streaming bluetooth audio at work, I still have about 50% battery left by 5. No heat issues either
my windroid combination
Windroid combination are as follows:
Artemis V30.0 WWE (winmo) + SubCRAFT V1.4d (non Sense)
Artemis V30.0 WWE (winmo) + MattcFroyoSense V1.6b (Sense)
fast smooth daily use stability and fully functioning core elements
out of all the roms shubcraft is my fav still never has frozen or played up for a week today, with telstra rom radio 2.12.50.26
I'm copying polo (I'm literally going thread to thread telling him so ) - Energy Full WM along with ShubCraft. I am daily trying out other builds, but the non-cluttered, non-Sense interface and professional look of ShubCraft has won me so far.
I still do boot to WM occasionally (and actually enjoyed doing so again tonight), and just need to figure out a decent Exchange client, and an e-bookreader to match AlReader (I've tried 5 or 6 but none do it for me), and I guess I'll always keep WM in the background so I have access to TomTom. Apart from that, long live Android!

I don't see any differences in the roms I tried... Miri, Chucky, Energy.
I just pick the rom that looks the coolest, which is Chuckyrom to me.
I jest and say that the best Android combination is the one with the fewest Windows as possible.

Hi Guys/Girls, after struggling for ages with the GPS on my Legend trying different roms and not having much luck.
I know I'm not the only one who owns a HTC Legend that is also having Problems.
I've been trying to diagnose what could be going wrong with the GPS, as it used to work perfectly up untill more recently. Ive been trying different radios V's different roms, as I have read in a lot of other threads for other android phones, the radio is supposed to match up with ril libs other wise it can cause issues, however in my time with the legend forum, i have never come accross that fact....
I've tried pretty much every combination of rom and radio available to no end, also with 3g data on/off wifi on/off, it always come back to this issue:-
I have signals and my phone see's satellites, it also uses them, but what I have noticed is that using GPS checker, it never shows up any Azimuth or Elevation data, Obviously if there is not data, no location can be calculated.
I have a theory and I need your help to see if I'm right or not.
Originally when I bought my phone it had stock eclair and GPS work as it should, I then updated to the stock Froyo which then gave me the Hboot 1.01 :crying: , GPS also worked as it should, I then rooted it using the standard Hboot 1.01 guides GPS also worked after rooting.
The only thing I have done differently recently is, I've use the HTCdev Hboot 1.02 to unlock my boot loader, I'm not sure why this would do anything to GPS?
As I rarely use GPS it's not something I took much notice of after I 1.02ed it, when it comes to technology I lean slightly towards the OCD of things, some of you may have noticed so this issue is driving me batty .
So here's the Question, for those with GPS issues, which Boot loader are you using?
Thanks for you input...
hello ranger4740,
i updated my bootloader some months ago from 1.01 to 1.02 and i unlocked it some weeks ago. These activitys did'nt have any effect to the GPS-functionality. I still believe, the GPS depends from the used ROM ...
I've had some troubles with GPS over time while using my Legend and what I've seen helps fix GPS issues (tried it on a few cyanogenmods and on a different device) is using a clock sync app (I use ClockSync).
Reasoning behind this was that when I checked the time on my phone it showed a different time then opening a console on the phone and checking the time there. Once both are synced GPS started working fine.
could it be that beta3 fried our chips?
i've tried to get a lock a few times with beta3 but i can't remember getting it...i'll try a bit more, even with cm7 and will report back to you....
EDIT: restored my cm7.2 backup and gave it a bit time and i got a lock (so no chips fried)...will go back to beta3 to try it a few more times
EDIT2: restored beta3, gps works fine...
also i had the same bootloader adventure as you had,and i'm sure that didn't effect your gps

Hi farukb, I would highly doubt that software could cause GPS hardware failure like that, but that's not 100% impossible.
CPU master and other variants are software which controls the speed of the CPU, Overclocking the CPU high and for along time can damage the CPU eventualy.
I have tried the suggestion by razy0 of syncing my phone clock, it showed my clock was -0.786 seconds out of sync, when I synced it, I instantly got Azimuth and Elevation data showing up on GPS checker, I havn't gone outside yet, but this is looking promissing *Fingers Crossed...
I don't think it's a problem of software.
I've never had problems with my GPS, and I've probed many Roms, eclair, froyo, cyanogenmod 7.1, 7.2, zeubeas beta 3...
I'm s-off, and hboot 1.02.

I had a lot of problems with the newest roms, now I use legend_crq_1.3, and the problems with Gps are gone. So I think a driver is the problem.
I have no problems with S-on and now S-off using legend_crq_1.3.
I using link2sd, therefore S-off is needed because of the mount script.
As an update, I am currently back on cm7.2.0, without repeating to much if what I put in my other thread, GPS works well with 7.2.0 and if it does stuff up it can be easily fix using the method I put in my thread...
