Is there an option so when you hit send and recieve, the pictures are automaticly downloaded with the email?
Now you have to approve every time you want to download an image.
It's not very convenient.
Tnx in advance
:nods: would be a nice reg hack if someone figured it out
If you are using an Exchange Server Go into Activesync > highlight e-mail > Settings > Set Download Size Limit to "Entire Message".
If you are using a POP/IMAP account that you setup on the device, in the Email application Select the email account to work with > Menu > Tools > Options > Account Settings > Download Size Settings > Entire Message
It works on my Dash 3G
Thanks
This works perfectly

Ok not working so perfectly.
It did it on the first mail I opened but not for the rest. and every time I open that first mails it keeps saying me that the images are blocked due to security reasons. I can then download them manualy.
Bummer..
Hope they find something soon. maybe a reg hack.

I need help! I need to access Exchange work email now in addition to my numerous personal accounts (why do I do that, who knows)
I have an unlocked G1 in the UK (on Vodafone), so I can't see/get may of the paid apps such as Touchdown, RoadSync etc. I have tried the free version of Touchdown, and it wasn't amazing
I've managed to find "Work Email" from an HTC hero, and install that. it works great - BUT only if it's a running app. If I close out of the app (by pressing "back" or whatever), it just doesn't check email any more, so I have to keep making sure I restart the app.
Any ideas for me? Or shall I just cave in and go back to a blackberry (noooooooooooo!)
Thanks
Did you go in to the settings and turn on "Push"?
Menu
Settings
Data Syncronization
**different roms will look different here**
look for "Schedule"
it may be set to Manual which would be why it only syncs when you open. There should be an option for "As item arrives" which is the push feature you are looking for.
I did look there, but no such option (I downloaded the Work Mail.apk file from somewhere, maybe that's why).
I did fix it sort-of through the settings in Work Mail to be "5 mins", not "as they arrive", seems to work okay now...
I downloaded it from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=536727
If you press the Menu button then select More > Settings> Send & Receive> Check Frequency then scroll UP (repeat UP) you will see the "As items arrive" option
It works great for me connected to a Exchange 2003 server.
Hello everyboy.
I have setup a Gmail account through the Microsoft Outlook client on the phone. For some reason I cannot seem to be able to download any attachments. If I tap on the files I can see they are downloading, but then nothing happens! If I tap on the file again it seems like it downloads again.. but with no luck. If I then go through the file manager and look for the (supposedly) downloaded files I cannot find them anywhere.
Any ideas?

When you are using Gmail through ActiveSync (m.google.com) Attachments not being delivered is a known bug at Google.
When using IMAP/POP3, they should download fine. Are your download settings set to downloading all attachments?

Thanks for the fast reply. Yes, my settings are set to download all attachments.
What's the difference between using Gmail through ActiveSync and using a standard IMAP/POP3 setting?

When using ActiveSync, you get push-mail (but no attachments from non-gmail senders as long as the bug isn't fixed) For info on this particular bug, see: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Google+Mobile/thread?tid=6fdf9db207ba49d4&hl=en
Using IMAP/POP3 gives you regular e-mail access. No Push-mail, but you can set the device to sync every xx minutes/hours.
Hey tomasz, you were right! I set up a different account through standard IMAP settings and now it works like a charm! Thanks a lot for your help.
Now how can I delete the Outlook Active Sync email I have previously configuered?
Actually, I managed to delete the account on my own:
Start --> Tools --> ActiveSync and then I unchecked all the options. As a result it deleted the mailbox.
Hi,
I have recently installed a clean ROM without every email settings (I don't have Tools in the inbox menu). In missing settings, there are 2 importants for me:
- Signature (to teplace the HTC default one). I have changed the registry entry HKLM/Software/HTC/Signature but nothing changes.
- The storage time of emails on the device (7 days, 1 month...)
Does anyone know where are these settings stored on the device (registry, files).
Bye
No idea?
Perhaps the name of the exe file to launch to get these settings?
Thx
why not change the signature via the options rather than registry?
HKLM\Software\HTC\Signature Has two keys,
Default with no value set and
Name holds the signature text as a string
Not sure about the storage time, tho, sorry.
I'm a bit lost by the "storage time" question. My phone simply shows me 50 emails and that's it. If I didn't get any for a year then the same 50 emails would still be there next year.
use the Windows application instead of the HTC application and you will have access to all available settings
Thx Pat12 but how to access Windows application instead of the HTC application?
Regards

Why don't to set these after you created your first email account. Then the options are readily available.

There are two ways of doing this, the easiest way is to bypass completely the HTC Sence Email application by using either : Start -> Email or Windows hardware button -> Email
Another way is when you use the HTC application, on the first screen (with the memo-like emails displayed) click the left soft button (More) and there you are! Windows inbox !
Now, click Menu, scroll to the bottom (3 items are hidden)
Tools -> Settings -> Select your account and go from there
I used to have, but now can't find the settings page for e-mail. I am going out of town, and want my email to download periodically. The settings window is nowhere to be found! It used to be a page that included Outlook and my GMail, and the idea was to hold stylus on the account to make modifications to the settings.
I can't delete an email account because...same window is missing.
Any ideas?
From inbox Menu select Tools > Options. This takes you to the page you wanted.
Thats what I thought also, but, there is NO tools to select!
I guess a hard reset is called for...darn.

Try to access your settings through active sync, assuming you had gmail running as exchange server.
I don't use an exchange server...I'm an old retired guy!
I have a few things to look at before I do the Hard Reset, which is the last thing I want to do.
EMBARRASED.
It has been so long since I have had to modify my email settings....after selecting MENU...it is a scroll up/down menu. Sorry for wasting the space and time.
I am annoyed of this, when I open an email...any email... it always says "get the rest of this message (_ _ k)"...I would like it to download the whole email right away (or at least I would like to know how to set it up to do so).... I did this :
Start -> E-mail -> Menu -> Options -> Tap an account to change settings - > Download size settings -> Message download limit -> Entire message
and it still seems to not download the entire message...
Are you using pop or imap email access? At least with IMAP it downloads the headers first, then the content, so you have to give it a minute or so if you've got a lot of email coming in.
Another setting to check is how many days worth of email to get - maybe it doesn't download "too old" emails as standard.
I dont have that problem. But, i will say that the email feature on windows phones (not specifically the HD2) needs alot of work. I mean,to be honest, its not REALLY finger friendly now is it?
"tap to scroll" "download images" i mean, come on.......

which e-mail provider are you using?
Some e-mail (like google for instance) will have settings that will allow you to access your e-mail via the outlook exchange server settings on your phone. This will allow your provider to push entire e-mails as they arrive.
Would be nice to have a more user friendly email app, wouldn't it ?

This is another gripe I had.... I was wondering is there any other email alternatives that actually work nicely with our phone...
see I compare things to the iPhone here n there because that was my last phone I had (and I had it since it first came out mind you so that is about 3 years)...so at least the iPhone had a decent email app (from what I could see)..it was user friendly and did not require alot of maneuvers to load/reload/check emails...
Now I am using Yahoo and Gmail, for those of you who asked....now it seems as though it is working correctly now (in regards to loading the whole email that is)....but as I just mentioned in the previous paragraph -I would like to see if there are any other good email apps for the HD2, does not have to be anything fancy even as long as it works nice n smooth and is user friendly... so instead of having to make a new thread or something maybe we could figure that one out here ? IDK, please advise me...
