Has anyone figured out how to prevent the Original "Touch Keyboard" on the Sprint HTC Touch from switching between the 40 key version to the 20 key version?
It's anoying whenyou need to type something it chages to the 20 key.
I've looked in the registries and I can't find anything related to that.
i know there was a cab released that hacks the touch keyboard to stay only on the 40key mode but it disables the xt9 in the process, if you can live without it

look at post #25 your just interested in the registry hack to make it only 40key
Hi,
Thanks for the Reply. But I didn't see a CAB file there. There is a more.zip files that looks like a full keyboard installation. not really a fix to the existing keyboard.
Is there anything else?
Thanks,
suggestion: get touchpal www.cootek.com
ya its a registry entry i typed it out wrong
teste2.zip contains the reg entries to turn the 20key permanently to the 40key

Hi!
SIPchange is a good software but i really need a registry hack for change the default keyboard.
I have to make a CAB file with a SIP keyboard that makes itself the default but don't hide all the others.
Have anyone ideas?

use sktools much better, you can disable and enable all keyboard, or even delete them.
How can i uninstall the default keyboard??
can't unless you could edit the ROM which I wish I knew how to do, and if I could I'd take it out too. The best thing to do is to change the default keyboard using SKTools. And if that does not satisfy, use Advance Configuration tool and it can disable the keyboard from automatically opening when you tap on a text field.
I've disable this XT9 over Settings, but sometimes its appeared again.
What need to edit in registry for FULL disable of this useful XT9?
.
I need to disable it too!
Nobody has a solution for this yet? Can someone please share how to permanently disable XT9 on HD2
I second that!
Have you tried Settings-----> Locale and Text----->XT9 settings?
If so, you might be turning it back on whilst typing.
I am looking to disable the XT9 keyboard settings on startup in my ROM. I know the registry for the key is stored in HKLM\Software\Tegic
I dont know which keys I need to change to disable on startup.
I have tried searching the forum and also searching registery keys with both XT9 enabled and ABC enabled. I would like to enable ABC by default when the HD2 first boots up.
Any help would be appreciated.
Answer is in second post!
;word completion disabled
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Tegic\eT9]
"WordCompletion"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Tegic\eT9\Ime]
"ContextAwareGlobal"=dword:00000000
"TextInputMode"=dword:00000000
use CeRegEditor to find changes in registry.
Brilliant will try that now!
Edit: Seems to work after a restart cheers!
