I recently purchased an Unlocked T-mobile phone. My AT&T sim seems to work fine but I WANT voice command and the added speed.
on Yorch, I notice there are 3 choices
4.00.05 seems like a generic
4.00,10 A Tmobile release
4.00.16 Anothe Tmobile
I have heard that T-mobile builds have more truoble on AT&T network. should I go with .05? or will one of the T-mobiles work OK.
If I go with a T-mobile, should I still use the AT&T radio Stack?
Thanks,
Matt
ATT has the most stable radio stack so don't touch it. You can try each ROM if you like. Make sure you create a backup of your current ROM so you can go back just in case. Since those are all USA ROMS you can pick whichever one you one, your location in the USA has no effect. Personally, I like the generic ROM for it allows ATT to display the "G" which signifies internet capability. Plus, you have more room to cram in more apps. The Tmob ROMS are full of crap you won't use. Have fun.
Yea go with 4.00.05 I was going to suggest 4.00.11 but I see Jeff's ROM Kitchen is still offline. Also I agree valheru on keeping the AT&T RS.

Thanks for the feedback.
I think I'm running a T-Mobile Radio Stack. 6.18.00
Is this AT&T? or T-Mobile?
Uh, if you have the Tmobile radio stack then it is a Tmobile radio stack. Reboot your device and tell us what it says.
From the device settings it says : 6.18.00
Yeap thats a T-Mobile radio stack!
Also confirming you got that info. from going to Start, Settings, System, Device Information?
right, device information....
I tried to unzip the latest AT&T radio stack from Yorch.net, but it had a password. Any help there?

Where can I find the radio stack upgrade 6.25 and how would I install it?
Thanks in advance!

radiostack should only be installed if you have issues since if it fail then many people end up with devices which need service to get their gsm part working again
I have poor signal strength after I upgraded the ROM version, and I heard this would help.
Thanks!
Will this radio update work on AT&T Wireless USA???
AT&T Wireless (Cingular) and T-Mobile are all on the same network here in the US so would this radio update help me too????
I upgraded to the Siemens 2003 OS and it really messed up my Phone signal. Downgraded to the XDA OS and it works a little better only because the "Trick" to getting it to work on 1900 is to reboot the device several times, a real PAIN.
Please...let a dude know what the deal is...
Thanks a mill...
Hi,
I have Siemens SX-56 ROM 3.04.00, radio A.20, Protocol 324e4. I'm AT&T wireless customer which was bought by Cingular. What is latest radio version I can load on a phone?
G
Curious as well
Cingular did something to the AT&T network in the Greater Salt Lake area, and now my network is stuck on 310410 (a cingular network I read)... but my phone can't take/place calls 80% of the time now, and I haven't been able to send a single SMS since then... this started about Jun-15-2005... any ideas?
I think I'm good now...
Cooked a Rom in LumpiStefans Romkitchen, WM2003 Final, ROM A.30.09 ENG (Update Siemens had available online once upon a time). This got rid of the 310410 Network ID (well, at least the name is now Cingular, same network)... didn't seem to fix my connectivity issues.
So, after reading what I could on the updateing the Radio ROM, I installed RSU_V6.25.02. This seems to have done the trick, calls, in and out and SMS are all working as expected again... I'll try and post another update later tomorrow after I have had the device up for a bit.
artisticcheese, I suggest you try this combo out, see if that helps your situation... Use the WIKI to find the radio roms... and go to http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org/ and cook up a similar OS ROM.
Good luck. Ive been fortunate, that all of my tinkering has been painless... although that is the only radio upgrade I tried, I had been playing around with various OS roms prior to this trying to aliviate my issues with out issue, but without improving my situation... 8)
PS. Previously I was at Radio V 6.12 (not listed anywhere)... forget what the original ROM was...
Fixed.
For sure. Any luck yourself?
I'm just a bit confused here ive upgraded to WM6
ROM 10.1.0.811 WWE
Radio 02.25.11
But when i'm using gprs i cant recieve incoming txt or voice calls untill i disconnect, i'm on t-mobile UK
Is there anyway to change my radio version without having to change from WM6 or loose settings etc??
And which version would be best.
Many thanks

Hey guys I hate to be a newb but I just flashed my 8525 with WM6.1 rom ver. 3.62.03.dvh and I cannot obtain any service. When I try to change the network type I recieve "unable to change gsm/umts bands, please try again later." Radio version is 1.40.30.00. I've tried the connection wizard and still no luck. I'm with AT&T.
