Dopod 900 Taiwan/HongKong came different ROM version

I saw Dopod Taiwan and HongKong came with different ROM.
Taiwan CE ROM 1.13.36 CHT Extended ROM 1.13.134
HongKong CE ROM 1.13.70 CHT Extended ROM 1.13.165
email to Dopod/Taiwan got the answer as follow :

Cause we don’t have updated rom code at the moment.
And the Dopod 900 in TW and HK are different version because of the input method.

Where are the differences between the two versions?
As far as software is concerned, I know that the "Auto Config" and "Voice Command" are different. "Voice Command" is in Cantonese rather than Mandarin.
By the way, I also notice that the keyboard of HK version is printed with 倉頡 symbols while the Taiwan version is with 注音 symbols.

Chinese input software can't work after flash to Eng ROM

I flashed my CHT9000 to Eng ROM (1.23.707.1). But both PenPower (CE-Star Suite) & Monster SIP can't properly. Even the software was installed, but I can't pick from the input item.
Does anyone know that if this is the version of WM5?

Are you sure? Are they just not listed in the keyboard menu? I have the Dopod English ROM on a CHT9000 and it works fine with CE-Star. You need to do a hard reset before you flash it, and re-install them after you flash. Please provide us with more details so we can help.

I have dopod rom on O2 Xda Trion. i have monster chinese V5 and monster SIPs and they work without problem.

I do know that I need to re-install the software after flash the ROM.
I did all the combination:
Monster Chinese / Monster SIP
CE-Star / PenPower
CE-Star / Monster SIP
The software can install properly and showed on the input colume. But you just can't pick it from there. I don't know why???

for those who got the dopod chinese version and flashed it to the dopod english version, how do you chnage the settings so that the qwerty keyboard works properly?
currently my kets are not appearing as what they should be when i press them.

Monster Chinese / SIP still don't work on my device but CE-Star latest version 2.8 R2 can work properly.
Concerning the keyboard, try this.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Oem\Qwerty
Default value for Eng ROM is 20409
Chinese ROM is 20404
Change the DWORD value to 132100 instead of 132105.

I got the WM6 ROM running. However, I now have the problem - after switching the device on and off a few times - that the home screen shows 'No service' where my provider name normalyy appears. Furthermore Calendar application is no longer working (same for Contacts, start button etc.)
Could it be that there is not enough memory to run WM6 on my Dutch SDA (Feeler model), or is there a simple answer to my problems.

WM6 upgrade wrong language

I have a P3300, I bought in China. It came with an English WM5 rom. I registered the device on the HTC Club Support site to get the WM6 upgrade. So I was very happy that now it came out but then the bummer: it will only let me download the dutch version. No idea why.
So I have to questions: Can I somehow change the language to English after upgrading? Second is it possible to write HTC support to give me an English WWE version instead?
I don't want to install any pirated version that will brick my device, therefore I waited a long time for the official update to come out and now I cannot use it? Neither do I want to install the dutch version (since I do not speak any dutch) and not being able to restore my English one.
Btw, does anyone have an idea why it will only let me download dutch even if my system is English?

English version is fully available on this forum please see the WM6 upgrading topic. the one of TOM CODON is a very good choice.

each htc device is identified with imei (unique number). imei number is linked to country, where device was originally sold.
if after registration on htc, you are presented with dutch rom, then device is dutch. normally, you are not able to buy device with english rom in China. it was re-flashed with engl. rom. in this case, service center already can tell you that you violate the warranty.
what you can do/
- download dutch rom from htc (original rom for your device). good idea if you have wm5 and wm6 handy. this is the rule - before flashing, always have original rom for your device. if things will go bad, you can go back to original rom.
- using uspl, you can re-flash with any rom (almost any, uspl needs some patching).
- if you try to flash dutch device with engl. wm6 htc rom, it will most likely will not flash even with uspl installed. to correct this, you need to extract files with winrar utility from flasher (.exe file, a new rom)
- open .nbh file (one of extracted files) in winhex or other hex editor and modify model id.
example:
if you want to flash dutch device with engl. rom, you will need to modify HTC__001 to code relevant for Holland. alternatevely, you can put 11111111, it should work too.
- save .nbh file.
- perform flashing as you would nornally do.

I need to flash finnish rom HTC_P3300_FIN_3.13.414.1_4.1.13.44_02.94.90_Ship_R, and it has
string HTC__I14 starting in address 000001e0h.
My original rom has string HTC__001 in that same spot.
Should the new rom flash successfully if I change HTC__I14 to HTC__001? (Or 11111111)
Am I getting this right?

[Q] HTC keyboard problem on HK rom

I have an HD2 with the latest stock HK rom: 1.72.831.1 WWE. The built in HTC keyboard was working fine for a while, but now T9 doesnt work and I cant use it to enter chinese anymore. All I can use it for is to enter standard english. I've tried everything I can think of, checked all the settings and searched online but i've found nothing.
Has anyone come across this problem before? Ideally, does anyone have a cab of the standard keyboard with simplified chinese support I can install, replacing the now non working one on my phone?
