The Crossbow RDP in Windows Mobile 5.0

The Remote Desktop Client in Crossbow is perfect: just the same as the desktop edition. The possibilty to run in true full screen, 16-bit colors, playing sounds through the Universal's speakers, has an exchangable clipboard, fast rendering, etc. etc.
The one (Terminal Services) in Windows Mobile 5.0 is not much compared to that new one.
Is there a possibility to run the Crossbow version in WM5, or is there a third party alternative, as good as the new RDP Mobile?

I installed this on my PPC6700 WM5, and works great, except I can't use the keyboard . Any body else experience this?

Did you extract the RDP from a Crossbow ROM? If so, would it be possible to extract the new Internet Explorer Mobile as well?

Nope, there aren't any REAL alternatives - see my related article at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=288506 .
BTW, unrtunatey, the WM6 RDP client can't transfer files, unlike some of the H/PC .NET implementations - and, of course, the desktop Windows one

It is working on Smartphone WM5
I just installed this on my wm5 smartphone and it is working just fine

Keyboard disabled for me too, WM5 on an XDA-Exec. Bit of shame really...would be nice if someone had found a fix already...

A solution that work is to use the Windows virtual keyboard (somewhere in accessories). It's like the PPC keyboard, but on the remote computer. It works... Until a better fix...

Install the app in the RAM instead of the memorycard and you're done.

I manage to got it work on my Loox n560, keyboar also work when installed it in main memory, but when I switch to full screen mode then keyboard isn't availible anymore and also can't switch back to normal mode from full screen. How do you switch back to normal mode?

Either soft key for me gets out of full screen, on universal

The program works fine on my SPV M3100 as an RDP client except even when the 'Save Password' box is checked, it doesn't actually save the password !
Do I need to install something else to get this working ?

I installed the RDP on my xda orbit WM6. When I try to connect my Laptop (XP Prof. SP2) reacts like desdcribed in other forums (changing to the log-in screen). But on my xda I can't see the remote desktop. Just under a second I can see a picture (looks like a message with a button) but then the display goes black and after some seconds an error message comes that the connection can't be established. Does anyone have an idea what I do wrong?

Just installed this new rdp. It works like a charm.
Except I want to use the Function keys I've got on my keypad. So that when I press F12 in Excell that it opens "save as" or F5 to use "go to".

WinCE shell in WM - is it possible?

Shall I question - it is possible start on WindowsMobile6 graphic interface from WindowsCE? (best that, what had HP Jornada 72x ) Meanwhile I'm found application, which only transfer start panel to lower part display.

Not really. There is an app (sorry, don't remember the name) that makes today screen look like win XP but I am not even sure if it work on WM 6.
The shell part of CE is not there.

That application (maybe) called PocketWin, but it needed Macromedia Flash Player

Resolution Changer for Windows XP

Here is my resolution changer named SwapResolution. It swaps the display resolution between 800x480 and 1024x600.
It binds to the correct hardware button (Synaptic Scroll Down Button).
This is the version 1.0.0.2 updated on 2008-11-09.
Changelog:
1.0.0.0 - Compiled AutoIt script, occasional crash.
1.0.0.1 - Rewritten in C++, quicker and more reliable. Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package needed. This version works only with Windows XP.
1.0.0.2 - Written in C++, quick and reliable. Self suficient. Runs on Windows XP and Windows Vista.

I found that NuClear235 had already posted an answer at

But it did not work exactly as NuClear235 described. My Synaptics control panel did not have any BUTTONS option. I installed the generic driver from synaptics.com and the BUTTONS option appeared. ControlCenterLauncher.exe should be bound to SCROLL LEFT as described, but ResolutionSwitchLauncher should be bound to SCROLL DOWN, not SCROLL UP as he stated. It works fine now!!
btw: Which Synaptics Control panel you use, that have not the BUTTONS option?

I don´t have within my WXP TPC the folders c:\program files\HTC, where must located the files ControlCenterLauncher.exe nad ResolutionSwitchLauncher .exe.
If I understand that right, this is only a Part of vista?
Your switcher works, but by me, the switcher don´t interpolate the solution, he change the resolution and then i can scroll left and right on the screen to see all. That´s right, or I´m wrong?

The switcher was working for me, interpolating the resolution, just like under Vista. Now it is not. I have to found the reason. Patience!

Can this work on Vista too? HTC's solution is an always running background application with additional .net memory footprint, because it is not a native application.

Thank you. Maybe it works not with Windows Xp language localized Versions and loc. versions of synaptics.
Can you explain us, which drivers at least must be installed for switching the display under Windows XP?
I have installed only actually OS drivers and all drivers that are missed in devicemanager and the actually Intel graphic drivers, actually Synaptics driver, and your patch.
Maybe we must install some other tools from HTC too? (or copy some files from Vista Side to XP folders?
Or is nothing needed more than Display Drivers, Mouse drivers and your patch?

Copied the the right folder, run the reg file and restart. But it doesn't work.
What do I have to do to undo the changes made by the reg file?

It should be enough to delete this value in the registry:

Yes, but only on Windows XP as yet. And it needs Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86). I will see what I can do.

Thanks for developing this application. Somehow it doesn't work for me :-(. I have 1.0.0.2 installed.
One suspicious thing: I even don't have the option to see 1024x600 when I click "List all modes" for the display adapter. Did I miss something ?
Edit: never mind, reinstalling the VGA driver did the trick ;-)).

When I execute the SwapResolution.exe or press the correctly mapped botton, the screen just blinks and then go back to 800x480. I checked the VGA drivers and found two versions:
1) Digital Flat Panel (1024x768) on Mobile Intel(R) 945 Express Chipset (This is by default and the setting is 800x480 w/ 32 bit color. But when I change to 1024x600 w/ 32 bit color, the color does not show correctly).
2) (Default Monitor) on Mobile Intel(R) 945 Express Chipset Family (If I choose this one, it can only go 640x480 w/ Low 8 bit color).
Please help.

The same problem as in previous post. The screen only blinks and do not change 800x480 resolution. In addition to above I tried "[email protected] Monitor", nothing changed...

[APP][WM6][QVGA] Mobile Hold'em Manager v1.1

This is my first contribution to the Windows Mobile community. My testing so far is limited to an HTC Touch so I am hoping it works on most other QVGA phones.
Overview
Mobile Hold’em Manager is simple Windows Mobile application to manage the blinds, antes and seating assignments at your favorite poker home game or tournament. It is optimized for QVGA (240x320) touch screen smart phones running Windows Mobile 6. Mobile Hold’em Manager allows you to configure the length, blind values and ante value for each round and can assign player seat numbers for multiple tables. Multiple tournament profiles can be saved allowing to quickly change between different tournament setups and there is also configurable audible and vibration alerts.
Requirements
Windows Mobile Professional 6 or higher
QVGA (240x320) touch screen
.NET Compact Framework version 3.5
800 KB storage space
Installation
Simply copy HoldemManager.CAB to you device, click on the file from your device’s File Explorer and follow the on screen instructions. To uninstall, click Start->Settings and then click Remove Programs from the System tab. Select DKR Software Mobile Hold’em Manager from the list of install programs then press the Remove button.

How to develpe HTC Touch HD Mobile application using Windows Mobile 5.0?

How to fix the Screen Resolution for HTC mobile? the windows mobile emulator resolution is 240x320, but the HTC Mobile resolution is 480x800. So i need the information about this.

Answer to your question: Use the correct emulator. WVGA.

You can change the Video Resolution in the Config of the Emulator.
It is also possible to run most .net applications under winxp.
The only thing is that you will have to fix, if you read out the path per code the path in WinXP will have a starting "file:\\" just remove it and resize the form like you want it

MS emulators for WinMo 6.1.4 have a 240x400 and 480x800 devices the difference between WinMo 5 and 6 is trivial. Compile it under the 5.0 SDK and test the exe on the 6.0 emulator, or compile it under the 6.0 SDK and see if it runs on 5.0. (Both methods will probably work.)
