Hi, i have one problem, how to enable rotating screen (when changing position of a touch hd) while writing a text message or doing anything else. I've looked in settings and Ive found one thing - gsensor which allows me to calibrate but not to enable this feature. Its strange because when im watching for example pictures when i rotate phone screen rotates too, how to do it while doing everything else?

You need the Gyrator2 cab downloadable here:
http://gyrator.brins0.net/?page=downloads
together with the '.NET Compact Framework v3.5' , the link for this is at the bottom of the Gyrator download page.
thanks a lot !

Hello,
I'd like to use my Ameo with "vertical" screen when I'm travelling and horizontal when Keyboard is attached in the office.
However, I have to switch back to vertical always manually once the keyboard was attached.
Is there a possibility to have the screen automatically always vertical without keyboard and horizontal when keyboard is attached ?
Dieter
Im looking for a similar functionaltiy.
Me to, this would be so useful.
you don't have to do it automatically, it is easy to switch the comm manager physical button to the rotate screen functionality- every time you touch the button the screen rotates - fantastic
i think the point was though that we use the device in portrait and only when we attach the keyboard it flips, and in a ideal world when we remove the keybaord we wanted it to go back to portrait as that is what we always use. pressing a button is easy but not quite prefect.
As an alternative to using the physical button (4 modes of rotation, the original only has 3 modes):

What does this CAB do? Would you mind posting a screenshot if possible?
Basically it's a screen rotator (just like the one that comes built-in with our Athena). The difference is that you have a better control of setting its behaviour through the Settings tab).
With the built-in rotator, I have to tap it twice to revert back to my potrait orientation from landscape. With this, I only has to tap it once (set it to Clockwise).

or you can just use iLuncher, it does exactly the same, it's a built in shortcut for iLuncher. one click for rotate, and one click to rotate back.
AWESOME! and thanks.

Thanks for the utility. This is EXACTLY what I was looking for...well not exactly, would be nice if it would go to Portrait when the keyboard is detached and back when it's reattached...but after further consideration it would be annoying if it did it automatically because i don't always want this to happen. Took me a little while to find the 'Advanced/Icon Settings' area...lack of sleep. I was looking for something that would go between Portrait and Landscape without rotating all the way around. I've set it up for "Right or Portrait" and this is exactly what I wanted, a type of toggle between the two modes. Thanks for posting this for us.
I'm lousy at explaining the way thing works. But I'm very happy to know you understand after trying the program yourself. A little apps with big function for people who like to switch back to potrait orientation.

you're my hero. thx.
i've been looking all over the net to find out how to get screen rotate into my advantages' taskbar (nothing worked, no tweaks, nothing).
works perfectly now. thx so much.
the thing that would make my taskbar perfect is a way to get the battery symbol INCLUDING link to the battery settings in it.
anyone an idea? i tried several tweaks, one worked but only showed the icon without any link. the others didn't work at all, dunno why.
You can tie this to a hardware button
This has been used on this forum for over 2 years. Someone may find it useful. Not "automatic" like asked for.
Install the cab file from your device and go into settings and set as one of the start menu items and 2 clicks give you a rotation and back, not round in circles like stock.
When you bind to a hardware button, one click rotates, another returns

Thanks. At last I can assign screen rotation to my hardware button. Good one to accompany the one I uploaded.

bug report...
Found a bug. On my Advantage, the camera stopped working in Landscape mode. May or may not be attributed to the screen rotate cab. A simple fix is to go to Portrait mode and start the camera from there. It could also be related to the VGA software but not sure. I'm glad I found a quick and easy work around because I didn't feel like hard resetting yet again.
Update: Found a work around. I wasn't going to hard reset. While playing around I noticed that if I switched to portrait mode and opened the camera, it would come up properly. Just won't do it if I try to open the camera while in landscape. Weird bug but I can live with it.

Did you assign screen rotation the the camera hardware button?
Hi guys
Does anyone know if there is a fix for this bug as mentioned on the Gyrator website help page? In fact, does anyone get this bug or just a special few??
Q. When I rotate to any new orientation, the phone application pops up, or the today/manila screen appears?
A. As you'll probably know, orientation is disabled by default on the Diamond, because the HTC developers are either too incompetent, or lazy, to build applications which are orientation aware. As such, strange things happen with either Gyrator rotates the screen, or you use any other application to do the same thing.

Yes, it is a PITA. I'm using a file called "rotator-netxscale-2003-4k-v420". It brings up a box on top of other apps to change the screen around. I have it programmed to the down volume button with AEBplus. The trick is never to switch the screen orientation while in TouchFlo3D. If you start your app first then activate the above program to change the screen it is all good, if you go to the TouchFlo 3D interface...it is not a happy camper. Unlike the normal WM Today Screen, TouchFlo3D Home is allergic to landscape.
I use Gyrator2, and TouchFLO is disabled by default in the settings, preventing it from being re-oriented if the device is turned. If you do a little searching, you'll find more threads that can help you configure Gyrator2 to stop the phone app, including incoming calls, from re-orienting. Plus, you can add any app you want in the settings. One I added was the Bubble Breaker game, which would restart a new game automatically if you turned the phone...
The same thing can also be done with MobileMagic.
Just deny auto rotation to the the apps that do not like
to be rotated or that rotate them self, like Teeter.
Thanks for the info chaps but i think that there is a bug in the system which SOMETIMES pops up the phone or manilla when i rotate an app (opera or tomtom mainly) from portrait to landscape using any method (gyrator, gsen or handymenu). It seems that these apps (phone, manilla) dont like any change of orientation even when they are in the background and opera or tomtom is rotated.
I have changed the gyrator2 .ini file to make no apps rotate except the ones i want to. Not even that works........
Any more help please?

Hmmm, don´t have that Problem. Dunno why, but it works as it should.
Hi, just found a bug using gyrator on my new touch HD when typing a message in landscape mode. The dot (.) and comma (,) are inverted, so trying to type one of them gives the other as a result. Haven't yet tried without gyrator if the keybord gives the same problem, and will post it here later on.
Thanks
Anyone have a tweak to allow a G sensor setting that would always change the screen to landscape when the Tilt 2 is rotated sideways? A good use can be in contacts, where long names are trunkated and opening the slider all the time is a pain.
Thanks, Barry
Try searching for Gyrator, it will allow full autorotate across the board. I believe it even has options to let you choose which apps rotate and which don't
"Changescreen" is another app that does what you want -- I like it. It's lurking around here somewhere...don't remember where I got it, but easily search-for-able.
Here it is
With thanks to original poster
You guys are great. I installed the ChangeScreen cab since I only wanted the simplified rotate feature. Works just great. I missed the manual rotate function I had added on my origional Tilt. Nothing is better than the G sensor rotate on the Tilt 2. Thanks again
in hd i used to toggle between landscape and portrait from setting - system- screen then portriat or landscape,
in hd2 how can i do this?? this property is not availabel in setting.
pls can somebody tell how to rotate screen in this hd2?
thanks
hi ..ive got a similar issue .....the only shortcut that works with the accelerometer on my hd2 is the photo album ....the browser etc doesn’t respond the orientation of the handset ??.....any help would be most appreciated
.............
Did you try to keep your screen upright (vertical) when turning te screen? This should at least solve the issue for a couple of programs like Opera in landscape.
Second, not all programs support a landscape mode. There are more discussions on this forum how to solve this issue. You could use the search to find them.
Hope this helps.

On Opera mine is only turning landscape on the left hand side (not on the right) weird...
Hello,
I often use the phone in landscape mode in my car. I would like to get the home screen and call screen (displayed when making or receiving a call) to rotate to landscape display. I've noticed that the call screen sometimes rotates to landscape but then very quickly back to portrait. I've managed to get the home screen to rotate to landscape using the rotate hotkey hint and tip. Is there a way of making this behaviour happen by default when the phone is rotated?
Thanks,
James
How did you manage to rotate the home screen ? I know there is a tip using rotate.exe .. but I could not find it.
I would like to rotate everything manually.
Anyway my phone application rotates correctly with no problem. Actually I hate it

I didn't think that you could rotate the current version of Sense (except of course photos & videos and the music tab).
Dr.Sid, if you want manual rotation, give PLToggle a go, in my signature
